I am excited by the prospect of a properly moderated graphic design site. I have traditionally felt that the internet and graphic design discussion do not mix well.
@JohnB Encouraging to see a strong stance taken by a moderator on that "your logo is bad and you don't even know, hire a designer" response.
Something that annoys me about people who don't have a discernment, and then get it, is how freakishly often they want to lord that minor piece of awareness over others instead of making it smoother and easier for others to see what they see.
It's not just graphic design that has this problem, it's other places... But maybe the fact that one can quickly advance in graphic design knowledge makes it a place where people depending on it for income get more territorial about it.
The logo he criticized is unremarkable, sure, but everyone's a critic. It's one thing to say something is bad and quite another to put your own neck on the line and show "I think this would be better" and be specific.
@HostileFork your comment there was timely, solid and well formulated; thank you. I could not at the time reply to the poster, as I was getting a little furious :) better to let it lie for a bit then. That people make bad logos - and this is not the worst I have seen by far - is no reason for not treat them decently
Here how hyperlinks appear in the editor preview:
But here is how they look once posted:
The blue styling needs to be applied to hyperlinks in the editor to match up with how they look when posted
In connection with the moderator elections, we will be holding a Q&A with the candidates. This will be an opportunity for members of the community to pose questions to the candidates on the topic of moderation. Participation is completely voluntary.
Here's how it'll work:

hey GDSE chatters! the SE design team is going to be our next podcast guest. do you guys have any topic suggestions or questions you'd like to ask them?
You can't please everyone, but still opinions are voiced and sometimes changes are made based on the complaints input. How does the design team decide which feedback they'd like to incorporate?

er.. wha? huh? @PearsonArtPhoto Oh, I don't want to be a mod.... if that's what you meant. I'd rather feel free to throw around close votes and often as I want :)
How many moderators do get? Debating on nominating others or myself, but if we only get 2 for example I'd be happy leaving it for JohnB and Yisela.
(The tag election alone wasn't sufficient for posting, so including discussion tag as well.)
hmm only 3. I think Yisela, JohnB and either Random, Gramps or Myself since we seem to be the ones on the most. If you want it Random you've got my votes especially for your time spent cleaning up tags
Only other people I can think of wanting it is DA01 or user568458 but I doubt either wants it since they don't tend to come into chat which is part of the conflict resolution system from what I've seen.
(Also, I have very little understanding or experience with the majority of the kind of question this site works with--digital/web/app design--which would be... awkward... for my ability to rule on them.)
