I have a question. I am not a app developer, I want to send a s3 signed URL to my app developer so that he can upload video from app directly to s3 but the problem is that we also need to generate a thumbnail for the video being uploaded so that we can display it on app later on, is it possible to do it on the phone itself or app would upload it to a server where backend would generate the thumbnail and then we upload it to s3?

I just bumped up the bulk thread queue to 500 and I can see it when I query cluster settings but I the queue size is still 50 when I hit _nodes. Can someone please tell me why _nodes isnt showing the updated value?

I need advice - I have a s3 bucket to which multiple users push and read. As one can imagine this leads to data inconsistency, any ideas about how I can unsure mutual exclusion in s3?

@hbdgaf I am playing around with apt-cacher-ng and have a question; when cacher get a apt-get update from client, what actions it takes to see if the data it has in cache is valid/ latest.

@Seth I am using s3-apt protocol, github.com/kyleshank/apt-s3
APZ
Jan 29, 2014 00:19
@Seth Was wondering if this is even possible
APZ
Jan 29, 2014 00:19
@Seth this makes sense but I think I was not able to explain myself. I have clients with this is their sources.list deb http://approx:9999/smm-apt saucy non-free . On server side approx has this in its config: smm-apt s3://key:[email protected]/bucket . I want something like this, where apt-repo is on s3 and I am caching it before giving it to the requesting clients
APZ
Jan 29, 2014 00:12
I have a apt repo hosted on s3, can approx or apt-cacher-ng or squid-deb-proxy fetch pakages from s3, cache them and then serve them to clients?

@Braiam Present run level is 2 and rc2.d doesnt have ntpdate, I think package ntpdate drop a script in /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate so that it run each time an interface if brought up.

Braiam agreed, before ntp syslog show this ntpdate[960]: adjust time server 91.189.94.4 offset -0.000259 sec
