@tchrist Thanks, looks better. I updated the meta post with your version.
Oct 19, 2012 16:32
No problem, it's always fun to play around with pictures instead of doing real work
Oct 19, 2012 16:25
@MattЭллен done and done.
Oct 19, 2012 16:08
I'm happy with that last one, if you guys are. I think it should link to the meta post, since that will give people background info and then sent them here

draft #3

Oct 19, 2012 16:00
I'm still playing with the spacing around the text boxes
Oct 19, 2012 15:59
@MattЭллен @StoneyB thanks for the feedback, here is draft #2 (using Georgia instead of Baskerville, reducing the size of the bottom text, and darkening up the writing hand a little). I keep going back and forth on the spacing and the font sizes.

@MattЭллен @StoneyB here's the first draft

I don't know if you had ideas for color schemes/fonts/whatever
Oct 18, 2012 18:50
I've got a little free time if you want me to try to mock up one of these

Hmm ... there's a lotta folks around who write pretty well. Why would they want to post on the blog instead of in the Q&A? he said rhetorically. Obviously, because they're not limited by an inferior question, or by such constraints as get a question closed. So perhaps something building on freedom of expression or get it off your chest or don't wait to be asked . . .

@MattЭллен what were you thinking for the community ad for getting more contributors? Something like a catchphrase?
Oct 18, 2012 18:12
@KitFox wow, thanks! I had no idea people were even reading it
Oct 18, 2012 18:11
hi @MattЭллен, thanks for letting me write it!

@Robusto I too have tried to make a sound on a shakuhachi and failed. It's just too wide for my breath
Oct 25, 2012 21:03
@RegDwighт sounds like a pretty wide mix. I don't think I've ever heard of a hulusi
Oct 25, 2012 20:53
@RegDwighт What do you play?
Oct 25, 2012 20:53
People keep trying to get MusicXML to the point where it can be used to move digital scores around, but most of the composers I know still use midi for that, even though you tend to lose articulations
Oct 16, 2012 20:25
almost equal, interestingly

I guess that's kind of a childish fear, now that I read it there all written out
Oct 16, 2012 04:36
@JasperLoy yeah, but there's just something about putting something on the Internet that seems so permanent, like if I say something stupid people will always be able to back to it and point it out to me
Oct 16, 2012 04:33
@Cerberus thanks for reading it! I was pretty nervous to put it out there.
Oct 6, 2012 18:24
Going well, just studying. Lazy day today.
Oct 6, 2012 17:59
How's it going?
Oct 6, 2012 17:59
@Cerberus howdy
Oct 5, 2012 21:02
@kenny Howdy
Oct 2, 2012 19:00
Unless you meant comedic timing, in which case, zing.
Oct 2, 2012 18:58
Is that where all these kids came from?
Oct 2, 2012 18:56
I use the rhythm method, you insensitive clod!
Oct 2, 2012 18:38
@Cerberus Any favorite clips I should watch? I'm a neophyte.
Oct 2, 2012 18:18
@tchrist Ahh, Stephen Fry can't keep it together at all!
Oct 2, 2012 18:11
Ah, I'd never heard of it, thanks for the tip.
Oct 2, 2012 18:09
It was very funny, how did you come across it?
Oct 2, 2012 18:09
@tchrist (hopefully) unrelated, I watched an episode of Quite Interesting thanks to you mentioning it in chat the other day
Oct 2, 2012 18:08
@tchrist yup, that's the magic formula
Oct 2, 2012 18:06
Some of those joints can be very classy. Diamond studded whips and whatnot.
Oct 2, 2012 18:04
was it the naked Ursidae or the fruit?
Oct 2, 2012 17:57
@Robusto Naked Ursidae narrowly tolerate the sparse evergreen fruit belonging to other naked Ursidae.
Oct 2, 2012 02:31
@tchrist That's just hyperbolic
Oct 2, 2012 02:26
@Cerberus good night
Oct 2, 2012 02:26
Hi to you too, @tchrist
Oct 2, 2012 02:25
@Cerberus and here I thought you hadn't noticed
Oct 2, 2012 02:25
@Mahnax I'm also doing well, thanks. Just got over a cold, it feels so good to breath again
