Hi everyone! Using time series analysis we can forecast continuous variables. Unfortunately the problem I am dealing is a bit different in nature. I have to forecast a categrical variable (a binary output to be more precise). How can I forecast a categorical variable using time series analysis?

@Glen_b Thanks for the reply. Actually I'm newbie, so I am not sure how I want to define degree of unusualness. Maybe reading some existing metric can help me. Can you please point me to some.

@Ryan Ex-Muslim here. What I know from my past 20 years of being a Muslim, it translates to "no God but Allah". Of course, you can be politically correct and choose to indulge into classic "interpretation" game. But I can make reasonable claim that if you ask any devout Muslim, they will say the same thing.

Hi All, I am experimenting on performance of MySQL (MyISAM engine) on bulk insert using different values of bulk_insert_buffer_size. But regardless of the buffer size I am seeing the same performance. Any clue will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I want to ask a question, but I'm not sure it'll be a good idea to ask this in the site as it may sound as a rant.

Ok, so if you type "@username" then both get pinged

Rent: $500 Per Person Per Month
Dec 22, 2013 18:38
Does this means I've to pay 500*2=1000$ for two occupants?

@YannisRizos Thanks for the course link. CS.SE is focused on language grammar, automata, algorithm, data structure. I don't think there's room for different programming paradigms (why they are suitable for specific domains), DSL, language constructs, concurrency

Hi all, I'm very much interested in research on prgramming languages (not compiler construction). Can anyone suggest where to begin?
