Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! Please refer to askubuntu.com/help/on-topic, only Ubuntu and official flavors of Ubuntu are on-topic on this site. We are sorry, Mint Linux is off topic here, As it is not an official flavor of ubuntu, Rather it is a separate Linux distribution (Many things are changed) ! You can ask this question on Unix and Linux or Mint forumsAlgnis 44 mins ago

I think so when we flag a question as not about Ubuntu in needs improvement > community specific reason > Not about ubuntu" it should post a comment like -
This is not about an official Ubuntu flavor . Questions about other Linux distributions can be asked on Unix & Linux, those about Windows on Super User questions about apple could be asked on Ask different and generic programming questions on Stack Overflow

4:21 AM
I know this could lead to spam!!!! But is is just like the duplicate (flagging as duplicate also adds a comment)

5:38 AM
@Algnis once again, you've pointed out a huge problem with the way question closure information is hidden from most users
to the OP and high rep users, the question, if closed, will have a banner with that text
so there's no need for a comment
except that the banner should be displayed to everyone

@Zanna What do you mean Have I done something wrong?

no absolutely not
Stack Exchange have done something wrong

Ohk
Ya

by changing the design to make it extremely confusing

This is not about an official Ubuntu flavor . Questions about other Linux distributions can be asked on Unix & Linux, those about Windows on Super User questions about apple could be asked on Ask different and generic programming questions on Stack Overflow

5:41 AM
the duplicate comment gets deleted if the question does get closed as a duplicate of the post it suggests, and that information goes into the banner instead

Yes I noticed that
@Zanna Will you make a MSE post about it ?

6:19 AM
@Algnis no... many people have already complained about it
I deleted your dangerous commands because readers might run them
you never know

Idk what to do in this?
There should be more options to us !!! As it is in Recommend deletion (It has a lot of comments that we can do)
Something like - Flag question as low quality
Flag as off topic
Flag for mod attention
Vote to delete

@Algnis I have edited the question
if you don't know what to do, skip the review :)
the skip button is the best button in review hahaha

That is what I did :)

good job!
@Algnis you can flag it, no? Flag button is there

That is there, I was just asking for more comment features

there's also a comment button so you can comment whatever you want

That is custom comment
Prebuilt comments

Which one is better 1st one or 2nd one?
@Zanna Which is better 1st one or second one

It depends on the situation. The first one is about Kali Linux specifically

@Algnis There is this script: stackapps.com/questions/2116/…
You (everyone) should use it with caution though, so that comments are adapted to each situation.

It is a good answer and took a quite time

@Algnis generally, it's not good SE etiquette to ask for upvotes

2:04 PM
Sorry

@Algnis I will look at it later in detail and might upvote it if I see that it really is a good answer, but not because you asked for an upvote. Please take into account what Zanna said. Also, please don't use headings too much in your answers, especially if they are too big. They are very distracting for me (and other users I suppose) and I can't really concentrate on the important part, which is the actual answer.
Every stylistic formatting in posts should be used carefully and only when needed.

yeah, if you really need headings, always use the smallest ones possible

@BeastOfCaerbannog ok I will edit it

Thank you!

Q: Can anybody post the output of a command for me (basically provide the default contents of a system file)

AlgnisHow does sources.list of ubuntu 21.10 look like ? Hello everyone , Please can anybody post the output of the following command for me (If you are on Ubuntu 21.10) cat /etc/apt/sources.list I wana do something with that , So please can anybody provide the default contents of sources.list file of ...

Why
Just why would someone mark it as duplicate
I have clearly mentioned I am not on 21.10
@BeastOfCaerbannog I told you recently that (I am on 21.10) , It isn't releated to that ! I don't have access to that system yet instead I want it for another system (I am not comfortable with providing the reason)

It's clearly wrong. The downvotes could be due to the formatting. Again, the headings seem quite aggresive.
Also, similar to this the way you ask for something matters.

It doesn't mean people will judge a post without brain just seeing it and saying it that it is bad !

"Give me an answer like this ..." can be considered aggressive and attract downvotes.

2:29 PM
Fixed

Your comments also don't make the situation better.

if you just want some output, I would suggest asking in chat

But they describe the situation
@Zanna I didn't think about that !
Are you on 21.10 ?

@Algnis I also edited your question.
I think it can be reopened.

2:52 PM
Well, muru is correct in [their comment](https://askubuntu.com/questions/1376524/how-does-sources-list-of-21-10-impish-indri-look-like#comment2370426_1376524). Also the [highest-voted answer](https://askubuntu.com/a/192388/618353) in the dupe says this:

If you're using another release, you need to replace the precise word with your Ubuntu release name. You can see which name you should use with this command:

lsb_release -c -s
This also covers the 21.10 case, so it is indeed a dupe.
Also dupe
