@Ollie You should mention which SE site that is as well.

Why?
Hover over the link and find out.

@cigien Er... why?

Raised a mod flag.

Me too.

For the record, I don't think any of the regular Charcoallers have 2k+ there.

@Ollie So that users don't have to click the link to see if they can act on your request. Hovering over the link doesn't show me the site at least.

Bottom left @cigien. It'll say islam.SE.

@cigien It does.

Hah. Thanks, mods.

@metasmoke @Ollie It doesn't answer the question, has completely misread it either by accident or on purpose. Makes it NAA I think.

Oh, bottom left of the page? I'm not seeing anything. Is that a browser specific thing, or something I have to enable?
Oh, I see it now. My bad. Thanks.

@Mast Hmm, that's unfortunate. Can't be helped I suppose.

Oh ffs.
Locked.

The only sensible option.
Now it would be wise for the mod to leave a comment.

Unless the user has other posts...

@tripleee Under normal circumstances, you should be able to execute SD commands for that instance in the room you linked, which normally would include !!/reboot. However, it looks like the instance had gotten stuck during the reboot process somewhere between loading the blacklists and initializing ChatExchange. Thus, it was not listening to chat. As a result, there really wasn't anything which you could do without access to the instance's console.

6:24 PM
BTW, I have a canned comment that I put under vandalized posts, which contains this hyperlink How does deleting work?. It goes to the SO help pages though. How do I change that to go to the site specific page, so I don't have to manually edit it?

*shrug* I've no idea. Ask @Glorfindel?

I don't know if there's a magic link for it, might be.
Like [help/on-topic], [help/promotion]

Yes, like the /current for users. For the linked keyboard shortcuts, I just use /questions/ask.

Hmm, the magic link would probably be on MSE, if it exists right? I'll see if I can find it, or ping Glorfindel otherwise :p Thanks.

@cigien If it's in the help center on all sites, then just don't include the domain in the URL. Only include the absolute path.

6:27 PM
@Makyen You mean the relative path?
The absolute path would include the domain.

@Mast No, or at least that's not how I would use those terms. An absolute path starts with a /. A relative path is relative to the current URL (e.g. ../some_assets/my_image.jpg).

Huh.
That's the inverse of how they taught me.
A relative path is relative to the current location, while an absolute path is fixed by the extra information provided.

@cigien [link](/help/what-to-do-instead-of-deleting-question)
There's no magic link (AFAIK) but relative links (preceded with /) work fine.

@Mast Yes. That's correct. You've just confused "absolute URL" with "absolute path".

Wat. There's a difference?
sigh

6:35 PM
@Glorfindel Yeah, that worked like a charm, thanks (@Makyen as well).

@Mast The path is one part of the URL.

yw. It's indeed an absolute path but a relative link.
I always mix them up BTW ... I just remember what works, not the terminology.

Thanks, there's some solace in knowing I'm not the only one having trouble with this.

I didn't even know there was a difference, same as Mast. I'm going to be reading the wikipedia link Makyen shared closely :)

Yea.
I was going to further dive into MS API anyway, might as well make paths part of it.

@Mast In many hosting situations, the URL path directly maps to a path on the filesystem to the file which is being referenced by the URL. In general, the URL's absolute path is translated by the web server to be relative to a directory in the server's filesystem which is defined as the root directory for the URLs which are served for that domain.

@Makyen So what comes in absolute may end up relative.
That's probably what got me.
Makes sense though, kind-of. If you look at them decoupled.

@Mast Yep. In addition, the URL's path may not map to a real file at all, and might include parameters as part of the path, rather than only have parameters as part of the query string. An example of that are the URLs used by the MS API, which definitely don't map to actual files on the server's file system.

@ThomasMarkov It was not reported in TRPG General Chat because the post was detected only for "Toxic answer detected", which is defined as an "experimental reason" and the configuration for TRPG General Chat doesn't indicate that reports which are detected for only experimental reasons should be reported into TRPG General Chat.
We're happy to change the configuration for TRPG General Chat so experimental-reason-only reports are posted there. If that's something that's desired, then please have a room owner and/or site moderator indicate to us that's what the room wants. For context, the last time I'm aware of where the configuration for TRPG General Chat was discussed is here.
