@SmokeDetector um... yeah, not sure if !!/bisect should be restricted to privileged users

@EriktheOutgolfer I think that, too.
like !!/watch is not, just creates a PR.

the !!/watch* and !!/blacklist-* commands apply immediately if you're a "Code Admin"

@double-beep !!/watch requires SD command permissions, so should !!/bisect.

11:27 AM
naa feedback received on Android and battery issue [MS]

@Makyen I think it creates a PR, doesn't it?

!!/test has no requirement for privileges and is available to everyone.

!!/test soapui\.org

> Would not be caught as a post, title or username.

@iBug including escape characters?

11:29 AM
@double-beep !!/watch and !!/blacklist-* create PRs only when you're SD-privileged but not code-privileged. For non-priv'd it simply rejects.

yeah, you don't include \s in !!/test

@double-beep There are two permission levels in there. SD command permissions give you authorization to execute privileged commands on SD. Code-admin, which is an MS role, gives the right to have your changes to the watchlist and blacklists apply immediately.

!!/test soapui.org

> Would not be caught as a post, title or username.

@double-beep !!/test is for testing whether plain strings would be caught as spam, and therefore there's no concept of "escape characters", since it's not regex per se.

@bertieb that is not tp IMO ^

he said but then I updated my windows once & also installed Latest Windows XP SP3
so, the link is not suspicious

and btw, in 3 same reports, there were 2 different feedbacks
1 tp, 2 fp

yeah, in the same way, "testimonies" would also be benign

Yup

11:38 AM
!!/bisect causes SD to run the provided text against > 11,000 regexes. That can end up being quite expensive. It's purpose is also different from !!/test. !!/test tells you: would SD detect this. !!/bisect tells you which line in the blacklists or watchlists detected it and the exact regex. That information is primarily useful if you are going to be changing the lists.

I took the whole lot into account: it's a "me too" answer by a new user which was asked ~9 years ago and likely wouldn't be on-topic today, it had a link which by itself is ethically dubious, if not outright spammy
On balance, I felt the post was there to promote the link

BTW, let us finish with this. 1h ago reported and is spam!

@double-beep yes, I flagged it
also... phew, we were about to censor ketosis

fp- feedback received

@bertieb Without previously having the word by itself on the watchlist, the posts in MS are significantly misleading as to the number of FP which will show up. Without a period of watchlisting, the MS data will only include posts that were caught for some reason other than that word. The fact that they are A) quite biased towards TP with that word and contain very few FP are symptoms of the data collection, and don't, necessarily, reflect the actual overall dataset of all SE posts.
That's a major reason that it's a good idea to watchlist something prior to backlisting it. How important doing so is depends on the complexity and uniqueness of the thing being blacklisted. For simple/short things it's quite important, but that might be balanced out, if there is some urgency to adding the blacklist (e.g. desire to get a current spam wave over the threshold for autoflagging).

@Makyen I get that, sure- I'm just surprised that there weren't more thing caught for other reasons that also included 'ketosis' as a term; as a number of related words are watched/bl'd
I guess the other terms are appropriately narrow :)

@iBug perhaps we should black/watch list keto, ketosis, etc.

Paras SharmaBecause According to an interview with Rowling, "Voldemort" is pronounced with a silent 't' at the end, as in the French word "mort", meaning "death".[2] This was the pronunciation used by Jim Dale in the first four U.S. audiobooks; however, after the release of the film version of Harry Potter a...
