This room is now seven years old. Originally it was called Jury Duty (and you can probably find a few mentions of this room name on meta), the room description was changed a few times since then.

@MartinSleziak Wow! I didn't realize it had been around in some incarnation that long. I only became aware of it after it started to be called CRUDE

@rschwieb nice comment on the PSQ :) Short and to the point!

@rschwieb Well, it was rather inactive for quite a long time. In fact, it was frozen (and later unfrozen) twice.
The activity in this room increased perhaps at some points in 2017...?

The name "jury duty" probably doesn't generalize to non-western countries well
or rather more specifically the ones without such a concept

Well, from this viewpoint, The Crusade of Answers might be even worse. (I vaguely recall that this was pointed out in some discussion on meta.)

Yeah I remember that: it was in a discussion where some user wanted us to ban usernames including "jihad" and that was the retort.

2:23 PM
Good memory: Username “Jihad”.

Well, it was a striking example. I just remember the OP's seemingly excessive and irrational reaction to the situation they described.
@MartinSleziak Rest assured: i will never be able to challenge your general knowledge of meta subject matter :)

Probably that should be taken as a compliment. Although I hope to gain some knowledge from other areas, too.

2:39 PM
compliment of course :P We could do with a few more people who can immediately correlate five relevant posts with every other new post in meta. It's called learning from history!
I guess a lot of us do that in our own subject areas. It's just I have to admire when people can do it for meta because I feel like I couldn't do it.

Since I did not want to digress too much from the topic of this room, I left a few comments about searching on meta in Math Meta Chat.

@XanderHenderson It can be deleted now.

There could be a good question regarding Atiyah's mathematics, but it is likely a better fit on MathOverflow.

@amWhy It's gone now.

@JoséCarlosSantos @MikeMiller, Thanks!

@amWhy quid undeleted it.

@XanderHenderson yes that OP was not back since then and to minimize that risk of confusing them it is better to keep the post around.
So, whatevs.
