I've only done it once at like one of those VR arcade places, but I had fun with it!

I just realized that my job has so far been very unsatisfying in terms of what I wanted when I entered: learning and messing with new tech

I learned a couple tech things but so far my job is extremely vocal and idk

Granted, they've greatly improved, but the level curve in the final dungeon sequence (70 to 80) is very steep.

@bwDraco what's your level before you reach it?

(Ys VIII is by far the largest game in the Ys franchise, so they've extended the endgame level target from the traditional 50-60 to 80, with slower leveling but greater stat growth per level)

Not really. I generally fight through enemies.

Since Ys SEVEN, being behind a few levels isn't a showstopper. The same can't be said of Ys VI and earlier.

So it's not as big an issue as it used to be.

Falcom has definitely improved the way leveling works.

But it can still get rather grindy at times.

When playing the Haunted Forest event, during the Festival of the Lost (Oct 16 to Nov 6) engrams will drop from enemies, however the transitions are quick between bosses and the next stage, due to the time pressure. What happens to these engrams if I don't manage to collect them? I don't get any...
