Crashes within minutes of startup now. Tried updating drivers, verifying, all kinds of shit

Also can't refund it cause I got it for 50% on a daily deal site

I can't share pictures here, but half inch steel (with some holes drilled in it) was bent a surprising amount.

There was a lot of torque placed on pieces that are designed to bear several thousand pounds of tension, and they deformed.

Q: How to detect player joining a Minecraft world?

I think it's more about: if your game is well designed from a gameplay PoV, people will be willing to look over huge numbers of bugs because the core gameplay is enjoyable. I mean, look at the bethesda titles or some of the earlier Obsidian entertainment titles

@Jutschge I haven't played BF2 and I haven't followed much to know what exactly they were doing to "fix things", but from what I do know, 1) the game needed fixing because EA is greedy and 2) they took their sweet ass time coming up with a sensible solution and it got so bad that there are laws against lootboxes now

changing game design is usually very costly and not worth it for big games

For honor was a great game at launch and people were outraged that they had MTX for cosmetics in a title. Gameplay was awesome, Balance was good and the graphics were great. "OH NO IT'S GOT MTX IT'S LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE". And well now it's dead.

the content was just completely lacking

the combat was great, but there was nothing to support it

How was their netcode? I heard there were connection issues?

And that can be make or break for a multiplayer PVP game.

@Yuuki beta had some lag issues, and I mean, uplay is known for connection issues, but I can't vouch for what it was like after release date

@Yuuki at the very start (first week or so) there were some issues but that was fixed pretty quickly.

@Yuuki It was P2P for a long time but they went to dedicated servers like over a year after launch.

The P2P nature made it unreliable, but it played well if you got a good connection.

Q: Is there a way to download the Boo! Greedy Kid level editor on Mac?

I was checking Steam for cool games and saw Boo! Greedy Kid. It looked fun enough and even had a level editor! But when I was in the game, there was no button. I checked online and apparently it's only for Windows? If somebody could guide me to the download so I can use Wine to unlock it. Thanks...

I'm still a little bit blown away by how good fighting game netcode can be.

So it was a fighting game? From the articles I read and videos I watched, it seemed like it was trying to be something like Overwatch or a MOBA. It had objectives to control and minion-esque soldiers for you to escort to objectives.

@Yuuki I think that this is why it failed.

The 1v1 and sometimes 2v2 "fight to the death" mode was really well balanced and interesting.

But they threw a MOBA-esque mode in the mix because it was popular I guess and it was trash.

And then they pointed everyone towards that mode and you had to go out of your way to play 1v1.

Some modes have gear that affects stats too which is just such nonsense.

But the 1v1 mode lets you play with like "base stats" so the only advantage is player skill.

one thing I wasn't a fan of, at least in beta, was that when you play 1v1, you could get murdered super quickly and then you either rematch the same player or wait like a minute or two to go through the menus to queue up for a new match

so you end up playing the same player over and over until one of you leaves

Spam goes everywhere that content can be put onto the internet.

I guess, but there's gotta be some kind of effort/reward metric.

Almost nobody reads fanfiction reviews except the author.

I didn't think there was nearly enough visibility in reviews for people to put spam there.
