Q: efficient farming

pudilityIntroduction A farmer needs help calculating the least time it will take him to pick his fruit each day. Challenge This farmer has X orchards. Each orchard has Y fruits in it. @MDXF I mean, MSNotepad isn't a bad piece of software, but it's not exactly brilliant, either.
@ATaco Not notepad's fault

3:05 AM
@Phoenix But it's just soooooooooo simple
@ATaco That's called Windows

@Downgoat Visual Studio Code

Sublime text does \n, why can't MSNotepad?

@MDXF so is banging rocks together but that doesn't mean that is any good
@Phoenix isn't that IDE

It could atleast READ \n

I mean, literally. MS Notepad is nothing but a text box with a bunch of options in a tiny toolbar at the top

Not yet, I'm at work.

No thank

;_; too many java koths

I can speak Java.

y tho

3:45 AM
I can't particularly speak Python.

Java is pretty not bad.

@totallyhuman ?

Disregard that I've answered questions (And Koths) in Python.

;_; so meen to me specifically
y tho

I'm not very good at Python.
If I wanted to answer such a KOTH, I'd want to answer it right.

3:52 AM
but
what if there was a bounty on the line?

Then I probably wouldn't win it

would you do it if noone else was doing it? the bar is set pretty low right now to be entirely honest

I don't do a lot of winning on PPCG.
It would seem that even if I win, I don't get awarded the win.

I do like, no winning. I just post challenges.
The reason I have more answers than challenges is entirely from lucky snipes of trivial challenges.

would either of you be interested in trying my challenge for 50 rep bounty?

3:58 AM
@Adnan What would you say inspired your language 05AB1E? I'm working on Helka's idea

also I'm not sure what influenced woefully

@Phoenix please make good solution to my koth please
please

@ConorO'Brien 0/10 my languages don't appear

4:24 AM
@MDXF wait a minute how does input work

Dammit. It doesn't have it
I'm sooooo close to adding it but I couldn't find all the algorithms

algorithms for input?

Yes. It will take input and turn the cube such that :0+125 will yield the ASCII value of of the input

this seems like a bad idea
I mean the cube is used as a memory thing

So does Cubically

4:26 AM
and stuff
also do you really need an algorithm?

yes?

just make sure the parity is right
and it will work

I'm not adding any more memory if that's what you're asking
what do you mean?

I mean there isn't much reason to actually have an algorithm rather than just setting it to a certain value?

The maximum value a face can have is 45

4:28 AM
I mean autoset the cube to a certain state

When input is received?

yes. but also I am not a huge fan of this input format
ps @MDXF can you do me a favour and answer my koth?

Yes that's exactly what I'm saying. It will autoset the cube to a certain state, such that :0+125 (in the code) will yield the ASCII value of the input
@DestructibleLemon which one? and why?

Q: Dungeon of botdom

Destructible Lemon– of crisis and martyrdom (that's the subtitle because subtitles are cool) In this king-of-the-hill challenge in python (yup; you need go no farther to know you may not submit in java), you need to create a bot that plays a game very similar to welcome to the dungeon Rules You submit a class,...

@MDXF because barely anyone seems to want to touch it

Yes maybe because it's very hard?

4:30 AM
there may or may not be a 50 rep bounty I make in desperation
@MDXF it isn't that hard

idek how to do Koth
and I'm going to bed in 20 minutes, after which I will not be on PPCG for two weeks at least

there are maze koths that got enough answers
@MDXF dam

Sorry

;_; i cri evritiem

That's me when I try to figure out how to handle input in Cubically ಠ_ಠ it is making my brain hurt
I really need to just add an input register but I really don't want to

4:34 AM
;_; noone likes my koth except the guys that made some simple answers

I've never done Koth so I doubt I could do better :I

Does haskell have a splat?

;_; this is actually more upsetting than it probably should be

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's just PPCG

I put so much effort into this ;_;

4:40 AM
I put so much effort into making Cubically take input and I have like eight algos left but I can't find them and no one helps ;_;

@MDXF tbh you dug that hole yourself

Heh probably true
Still

I'm gonna start a 100 rep bounty and see what happens

I guess I can get a Rubik's cube, tape numbers to it, and have random co-workers mess with it :P that will take at least fifty times as long though

4:55 AM
Well, goodbye, everyone! I might talk on TNB but I won't do anything on PPCG for a few months possibly, a week or two at least. Someone else will have to get thousands of rep for C segmentation faults while I'm away; I better have earned the silver badge before I come back :P

for a second there I thought we were going to have another MD XF is typing incident

ಠ_ಠ someone else will have to forget to update their userscript too

also apparently the guy who made the randommandom bot is going to make another bot!
so that is fun

cya later o/

4:59 AM
ciao

\o = guy waving or someone kicking a ball?

Yes.

o/
Idea: Make o/ indicate someone leaving, and \o indicating someone ariving

\o/ = spider on ceiling
also now there is a bounty

It's important to note, it's only a small subset of people that like to answer KOTHs, and most of them prefer Java, just let it do what it does.

user165474
I don't understand the entire game very well; I prefer shorter and simpler KOTHs unless it's Java.

;_; but this is mostly simple how to make more simple

idk what you're talking abot covfefe is the best coffee I have ever had

can you get the SGITW award on your own challenge? I think this might be a reasonable entry; I worked on a much more ambitious entry than the ones produced while the challenge was active ~5 months ago, and ended up with an entry with a score 3 times as good as the others
incidentally, I originally asked the question because people were talking about the idea of specialized esolangs; that approach looks potentially good enough to fit into an esolang, if ungolfed and generalized somewhat (although it'd need to use a 7-bit character set if you wanted the result to be readable)
