@Tezz Here there is an interesting thing. Kalidasa uses the word पितरौ This is the used in द्विवचन in संबोधन प्रथमा विभक्ति . Translation for पितरौ is fathers . There should be a separation between Paravatipa and Rameshwarau. So Kalidasa is saluting both Shiva and Vishnu and calling them the fathers of this universe.
@SwiftPushkar Good morning

@SreeCharan - Yes ,नमस्कारं , शुभ दिनं 🙏🌻💐

@SreeCharan what Kaalidasa meant to say is 'I salute Parents of Universe Parvati and Parameswara who are inseparable like words and meanings'... Others are our interpretation... for eg. There are also other interpretation...rudrakshayoga.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/…

Pitru is masculine gender @Tezz

4:06 AM
@Tezz - Good morning to you too 🌻💐🌷🙋

@SwiftPushkar Good Morning...

Q: Does chanting Mahishasura Mardini stotram bestow occult powers?

MaximusAre there occult powers attributed to chanting the holy Mahishasura Mardini stotram? The reason behind asking this is - 1. some mantras/shlokas are chanted for invoking the specific deity for general well-being. 2. And there are some that have more potency - giving much higher perception to one...

I think this is opinion based one ⬇

@SreeCharan well... Vaag Artha analysis is primarily used to represent Shiva-Shakti.... Vyaviya Samhita chapter 29 wholly talks of Vaag-Artha analysis... however it may be that it can be used to represent Hari-Hara form... there are also views that Hari is form of Shakti....

In the link you shared, there is another interpretation about saluting the trinity. @Tezz Vaagartha can also mean Brahma who is also a masculine gender.

@SreeCharan Yeah... I have read that...

4:16 AM
But I liked the interpretation 3,4,5 and I believe that. Because Parvati is a strii linga shabda

4:29 AM
@SreeCharan 'Pitarau' word is formed from Dwanda Samãsa... " Mata Cha Pita Cha = Pitarau" Hence Pitrau means 'father and mother' or Parents...

Pitru is "ru kaarantah punlingo pitru shabdah".

@SreeCharan so now here does it means to take care of his two fathers?... vedabase.com/en/sb/6/2/28

@Tezz How do you know Kalidasa meant Shiva parvati only and not trinity or Hari Hara?

4:38 AM
@SreeCharan well the thing is you were saying... Pitarau is always masculine and it can't mean father and mother... so I'm just showing that it can be used to denote Mother and Father also... I have no problem with two father interpretation... 😀😀

@Tezz I didn't say pitarau is masculine. I said "Pitru" is masculine.
The word ends with au when there are two.
So Dvivachana

@TheDestroyer @Tezz @SreeCharan - Who composed "Lalita Sahastranama" ? 📃

@SwiftPushkar It is the conversation between Hayagriva and Agastya.
Wait.. Is it a quiz question?

@SreeCharan - no , I heard "Lopamudra" did ..

@SwiftPushkar I think Vaag Devis composed Lalita Sahasranama...
@SwiftPushkar yeah 8 Vaag Devis composed:

4:50 AM
@Tezz - Yeah , May be Vaag devi's mean "Brahma-Vadinis" , Lopamudra was Brahma-Vadini , My guess though , the word Vaag devies is used here for those female Rishies 😊👍👍

@SwiftPushkar where did you get idea that Lopamudra composed it... ?...

@Tezz - In one video , can't remember which one , I am searching , Will give you link if found😊

Screen when @SwiftPushkar starts typing a message:
That smiley is default. :D XD

@SwiftPushkar Oh ok...

5:11 AM
@SreeCharan - lol , but I am thinking to stop putting smilies except 😊 ,some times😀

5:48 AM
@SwiftPushkar Why? all like that smileys. Use as many as you can.

@SreeCharan - HaHa , yes , but I think sometimes they remove the attention from main text , so I will use them in fun time 😀👍👍💐

6:24 AM
Chausath Yogini Temple, Morena ⬆

The Chausath Yogini Temple, Morena(Hindi: चौंशठ योगिणीं मंदिर), an ancient temple, also known as Ekattarso Mahadeva Temple(Hindi: एकत्त्तरसो महादेव मंदिर), "hypetheral on plan" located in Morena district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the few such Yogini temples in the country which is in a very good condition. The temple is formed by a circular wall with 64 chambers and an open mandapa in the centre, separated by a courtyard, which is circular in shape, where Lord Shiva is deified It is believed that the Parliament House, known as Sansad Bhavan, built in Delhi in the 1920s,...
This look fine
@RohitSinghRathore Returned with a new name!

6:40 AM
@Tezz One of the first questions you posted on the site was about whether any scriptures mention how long different Ishvaku kings lived. I haven't found an answer to that, but I just found a Skanda Purana chapter that describes how long different Asura kings lived: indianscriptures.com/Content/Articles/PDFs/27480/…

Yes @SreeCharan :) how you have been?

I know It is Off-topic here but My question is in HNQ on movies &TV and I am one of the top network askers
@RohitSinghRathore I am fine thank you
How are you?

@Tezz According to the chapter Hiranyakashipu ruled for 107 million years, Mahabali ruled for 10 million years, Kartavirya Arjuna ruled for 85 thousand years, and Ravana ruled for 56 million years.

@SreeCharan - 😀 Yes 👍👍👍

I'm good @SreeCharan :)
What is Jiva according to Vishishtaadvait? @KeshavSrinivasan @SreeCharan

6:52 AM
@SreeCharan - There is an episode about this temple on Epic channel , I saw it some days ago ,

@SwiftPushkar नमस्कार! ☺💐
@SreeCharan what does Tamil word Dasan mean?

@Pandya - 🙏 नमस्कार , कैसे हैं आप ?💐

@Pandya Servant

@KeshavSrinivasan that book I've commented. Ishvar Pratyabijna by Utpala.

@RohitSinghRathore According to Vishishtadvaita Jiva mean individual souls. (Jivatma)

6:57 AM
@RohitSinghRathore The Jivatma is the individual soul. We don't see the Jivatma as the same as Brahman, but we do see Brahman as the Antaryami or inner self of the Jivatma.

@Pandya I was actually looking for deep.

@SwiftPushkar ठीक हूँ और आप कैसे है?

@RohitSinghRathore I've read Utpaladeva's Ishwara Pratyabhijna, but which specific translation did you that picture from?

@RohitSinghRathore Btw,
Feb 22 at 5:56, by Pandya

@KeshavSrinivasan @Pandya Actually after death a soul leaves his body in form of Manas,budhi,ahamkar & tanmatras. So I'm asking whether this is Jiva?

6:59 AM
@RohitSinghRathore The Jivatma is beyond Ahankara, Buddhi, and the other evolutes of Prakriti.

@Pandya Jiva is not completely different. That chart si applicable for dvaita

@RohitSinghRathore Vishishtadvaiti considers Jivatma different/separate than Subtle body.
@SreeCharan But That picture is correct according to @KeshavSrinivasan

@RohitSinghRathore As @Pandya said, in Visistadvaita the Jivatma is beyond both the gross body and the subtle body.

@Pandya - सब ठीक ठाक है , सौराष्ट्र मे गर्मी का हाल कैसा है ? यहां इस साल बहुत कम गर्मी है surprising 😊👍👍

Oh. Got it. @KeshavSrinivasan @Pandya thanks.

7:02 AM
@RohitSinghRathore According to Vishishtadvaita there is Sharira-Shariri relatively between Jiva & Brahman

What's that?@Pandya

@Pandya Not only Sharira- shariri, there are other relations too.

@SreeCharan That chart is not applicable to Dvaita, it's only applicable to Visistadvaita. If you were representing Dvaita there would not be blue circles inside the red, yellow, and green circles.

@SwiftPushkar यहाँ गर्मी ज्यादा है।

@RohitSinghRathore That means that the Jivatma and Brahman have a body-soul relationship. Just as the Jivatma is the soul of the body, Brahman is the soul of the Jivatma.

7:04 AM
What is red world=brahman impure? @Pandya

Oh. Got it. @KeshavSrinivasan a little similar concept is there in KS as well.

@SreeCharan Yes, I know there are:
> sharIra/sharIrI (शरीर/ शरीरी) (body/indweller);
prakAra/prakArI (attribute or mode/substance);
‌shesha/sheshi (Owned/owner);
amsha/amshI (part/whole);
AdhAradeya/sambandha (supporter/supported);
niyamya/niyanta (controlled/controller);
rashksya/rakshaka (redeemed/redeemer);

@Pandya - अच्छा , 🌞

@SreeCharan The red is Prakriti. Brahman in his pure state has only Kalyana Gunas, but Prakriti is a transformation of Brahman which has a mixture of Gunas.

@RohitSinghRathore That means Jivatma is body of Paramatma & Paramatma is soul of Jivatma

7:09 AM
@RohitSinghRathore Body soul relation. Jiva is body but the Paramatma is soul.

@RohitSinghRathore Btw, Vishishtadvaita is more complex & interesting to understand than Advaita!

@Pandya Disagree & agree

When you say Rama, it can be either interpreted as 1. Body of Rama, 2.Soul (Dwelling in body) of Rama, 3.Supreme Soul (Dwelling in soul) of Rama. (According to Vishishtadvaita)
@SreeCharan ^^ I mean complex in nature of interpretation.

The body and soul work in tandem. They are inseparable. @Pandya
When I call @Pandya, who is responding? Your body or soul?
in The Screening Room, 3 mins ago, by Ankit Sharma
@SreeCharan we are not part of any sects but I feel I am a mixture of agnostic , atheist and semi religious
in The Screening Room, 5 mins ago, by Ankit Sharma
@SreeCharan seen that keshav's poll question, I am confused which option to pick
@Ankitsharma Ping

Anyway I have picked "I'm a Hindu but I don't identify myself with a particular sect or school of Hinduism."
@SreeCharan both I suppose

7:20 AM
@AnkitSharma Now you have started to understand Vishishta advaita.
They are unseparable.
They always work in tandem.

hmmm
But when you die, only soul remains
To me I don't know how can I accept Mahabharata and Ramayana both at same time.
Ramayana teach us idealistic approach and Mahabharata teach us realistic approach
And I asked my parents too and I am sure we belongs to none of teh sect or maybe my grand grand parents forgot to share there sect :P

7:53 AM
@AnkitSharma Yes, that is fine:)
@SreeCharan It depends and that's what I want to say.

8:30 AM
@Pandya That is not the question in Visshishtadvaita. It is in advaita. Why did Shankaracharya got realised when shiva (in disguise as a cremation) asked Whom are you asking to move? Atma or this body? Answer would be simple if advaita is simple as you are saying.
@Pandya Why does it depend on situation?

8:46 AM
@Pandya It depends. Everyone chooses philosophy according to their temperament. I find Advait Vedanta the most interesting & mature philosophy than other Vedanta schools. Also KS even more mature & interesting than AV. It varies from person to person. :)

9:03 AM
@RohitSinghRathore Yes. It varies from person to person. I don't know much about KS.
@SreeCharan Let me refresh: It is complex because according to VA, there are two realities Jivatma & Paramatma whereas according to Advaita, there is only one reality Atman/Brahman
@RohitSinghRathore Btw, what are the major differences between AV & KS?

9:25 AM
@Pandya @SreeCharan There are three realities in VA which are canonically interlaced - Of these, two are adorning or adjectival in relation to the fundamental reality. The three realities are physical worlds, the individual souls and Narayana respectively.

@anuvaramban Isn't physical world nothing but the transformation of Brahman?

@Pandya It is a manifestation of Brahman but only a part of Brahman
@Pandya additionally, being a manifestation of Brahman, it is real.

9:42 AM
@anuvaramban Yes 1/4th of Brahman.

@Pandya please elaborate.

9:54 AM
@anuvaramban I mean 1/4 th part of Brahman transformers into Jagat.

@Pandya I understood what the previous statement meant - what i was trying to understand is the 3/4th of the composition of Brahman that you seem to have left as homework :)

10:33 AM
@Pandya From where did you get this relation?
Feb 20 at 17:50, by Sree Charan
पिता च रक्षकः शेषि भर्ता ज्ञेयो रमापतिः स्वम्याधारो ममात्माच भोक्ताचाद्य मनूदितः
1. पिता पुत्र ;Father - son

10:54 AM
@SreeCharan I think @Pandya is relating it from the Purush Suktam:::
पादोऽस्य विश्वा भूतानि त्रिपादस्यामृतं दिवि ॥
त्रिपादूर्ध्व उदैत्पूरुषः पादोऽस्येहाभवत्पुनः ।
ततो विष्वङ् व्यक्रामत्साशनानशने अभि ॥
His One Foot has become all these (visible) Worlds, and His Three Feet rests in the Immortal World of the Transcendence. The Three Feet of the Purusha is raised high Above (in Transcendental Realm), and His One Foot becomes the Creation again and again.

@Tezz There is no swami in that. It is also one relation

@SreeCharan Swami?...

@Tezz Yes. Parabrahma is the swami of Jivatma

@SreeCharan oh mistakenly I mentioned you... actually that message was for @anuvaramban

11:09 AM
2. Protector protected 3. Master - servant 4. Husband- wife 5. Knower- known Lakshmipati 6. Owner - owned 7. Supporter- supported 8. Body-soul 9. Enjoyer - enjoyed

11:53 AM
if Savitr is sun out of 12 adityas who is vivashvan :O

@Friendy Vivasan and Savitar both are Adityas...

@Pandya there are many differences. I'm summarizing as follows.
1- In KS, Brahman is both knowledge & activity (beyond space time activity), in AV Brahman is only knowledge.
2- There is an activity in Ishvar in AV due to Māyā but in KS activity & Māyā belongs to Maheshvara. Māyā is Shakti of Shiva. And Maheshvara is not affected by Maya.
3- In AV, Maya is undefinable. In KS, it is Shakti of Shiva hence definable & real.
4- Maya too is Shivamayi in KS, or say mirage on desert too is Shiva.
5- World is real & ideation of Shiva in KS unlike unreal in AV.
6- During liberation whole world becomes one's own part in KS, but in AV whole world ceases to exist.

2 hours later…
2:31 PM
@Tezz I think @Pandya is referring to all material realms taken together by Jagat.
@Tezz i.e., all physical reality.

2:50 PM
https://hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/18058/why-does-the-todala-tantra-prohibit-worshiping-nilakanta-in-the-kali-yuga#comment49080_18058
What do you mean in this above comment? Are you trying to say that Thiru Neelakanta Nayanar & his wife did not shed their bodies when they reached Kailasa so it is not considered dying and attaining Kailasa? @Tezz

3:01 PM
@anuvaramban If you go by the Todala Tantra, Tiru Neelakanta Nayanar would be reborn as a pig, not attain Kailasha.
@RohitSinghRathore We also believe that the world is real. And we see the world as a transformation of Brahaman.
@RohitSinghRathore By the way, so like I said I have already read Utpaladeva's Ishwara Pratyabhijna. But can you tell me what translation/edition of the Ishwara Pratyabhijna that picture is taken from?

@KeshavSrinivasan Interesting, Check page 47 of this out -> advaitaashrama.org/Content/pb/2003/092003.pdf

@KeshavSrinivasan See appendices of B.N gupta translation on Utpaladeva's Ishwar P. Btw, which UI you have?

@anuvaramban Sorry, what's the interesting part? The review of the biography of Ramakrishna Paramhansa's wife?

I was looking for a good commentary on UI but haven't found yet. Do you have?

@KeshavSrinivasan page 47 as indicated at the center bottom of the pages. It's confusing that they have more than one page number per page.

3:14 PM
It is very unfortunate, there were 64 Bhairava Āgamas of KS which are not present today mostly due to Damage of Islamic invaders. So I find very difficult to get KS texts. Trisirobhairava is extinct which was very important.

@RohitSinghRathore What period did these texts originate? I ask because if they had originated considerably long before they were lost, there's a good chance they are preserved in the traditions of the south given how similar preservation took place for Jaina and Buddhist Texts.

@anuvaramban Yes old.
@TheDestroyer I mistakenly gave you the wrong link yesterday. I wanted to share this link.
@anuvaramban You go through the link, you will get an idea of how old it is.

@RohitSinghRathore Don't get me wrong, I know these lineages trace themselves well into the past, what i meant is the timeline of written texts

@RohitSinghRathore I have three books on Utpaladeva's Ishwara Pratyabhijna: K.C. Pandey's book, R.K. Kaw's book, and John Nemec's book.
@RohitSinghRathore Do you have a link to B.N. Gupta's book?
@RohitSinghRathore Are you sure the author is B.N. Gupta and not B.N. Pandit? Because I can't seem to find the book by Google searching.
@RohitSinghRathore Actually I have four books; I also have Rafaelle Torella's book.

3:38 PM
@RohitSinghRathore This link claims that "Swami Lakshmanjoo was the last in this unbroken chain of Kashmir Shaiva Masters." With all due respect, does this mean we should interpret that KS Guru Parampara is extinct now (given that Swami Lakshmanjoo died in 1991)?

@anuvaramban Yes, Kashmiri Shaivism was almost dead until Lakshmanjoo revived it. But Lakshmanjoo has living disciples.

3:57 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan In which case, the link is misleading in saying he is the "...last in this unbroken chain..."

Oh sorry, @KeshavSrinivasan it is B.N Pandit. :) Mistake.
@anuvaramban Don't worry, I'm not attached to anything including any philosophy. I won't mind. :) Actually the link I've mentioned is based on Abhinavgupta writings on his Tantraloka.
@anuvaramban Yes, might be dead. But I'm hopeful to find one KS guru.
Moreover he is living master though foreigner. @anuvaramban @KeshavSrinivasan parabhairavayoga.com/en

4:14 PM
@SreeCharan Doesn't Adiyen mean Servant?
@SreeCharan From Wikipedia.
@RohitSinghRathore Thanks.

@Pandya Yes. It means I am your foot.That term is used while talking to acharyas
It is formal substitute for I

@Tezz do you use new SE mobile chat or old/classic version?
@SreeCharan And Dasan also means same. Right?

Yes

I just asked seeing "Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan"

@Pandya yen means I in Tamil. @anuvaramban isn't this right?
@Pandya SE uses the word "ancient" for the older version.😆

I think he uses ancient one @Pandya

@SreeCharan Btw, how about Adiyen NathaMuni Dasan?

But they should also add permalink option.
Is there any way to see which message of mine you replied?

@SreeCharan Yes, which platform & browser you're using?

@Pandya It is okay but widely not used.

4:32 PM
@SreeCharan it is. one more way to split is like so: adi means footstep and yen means mine - so Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan in this way of understanding could mean that "Mine Footsteps fall as those of a servant of Ramanuja" meaning that one is an obedient servant of Ramanuja.

@SreeCharan Anyway, you'll always find the arrow before the message from desktop mode/site.

But only one sentence is used Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan. It is the name after one gets initiated.@Pandya

@Pandya Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan basically means "I, lowly me, am a servant of Ramanujacharaya."

@KeshavSrinivasan ok

For others say nathamini, It is Nathamunigal Divya tiruvadigale sharanam

4:36 PM
@SreeCharan oh! it needs to be initiated. ok

@Pandya What about mobile?

@SreeCharan there should be an option to force the desktop mode/site. (Which browser?)

@Pandya Not sure but you get the name dasa after initiation

@SreeCharan AFAIK One who is by heart dwelling in SriVainavam can introduce oneself as Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan (meaning even those that are on the path to SriVainavam but not initiated yet)

@Pandya I think UC browser doesn't support that new version...

4:42 PM
@Paul-Benjamin Hi

@Paul-Benjamin Welcome to H.SE Chat!!

@Tezz oh! ok. You may use Firefox or Chrome on Android.

@anuvaramban Yes a true vaishnavite can say that
@Pandya Windows

@SreeCharan You mentioned Windows phone?

@Pandya Yeah I can use... but I prefer Uc...haha... because it consumes less data... I suppose...

4:46 PM
Yeah 😂

@Tezz Did you see the Skanda Purana chapter I linked to:
10 hours ago, by Keshav Srinivasan
@Tezz One of the first questions you posted on the site was about whether any scriptures mention how long different Ishvaku kings lived. I haven't found an answer to that, but I just found a Skanda Purana chapter that describes how long different Asura kings lived: http://www.indianscriptures.com/Content/Articles/PDFs/27480/62f_chapter_20_1.pdf‌#toolbar=0&pagemode=none&view=FitBH&page=1

Yes @Pandya we exist

@Tezz Haha ok.

@KeshavSrinivasan It isn't supported... can you convert it to pdf...

@SreeCharan Haha! You may join WindowsPhone.SE :)

4:50 PM
@Tezz Here: gdurl.com/AyVY

@Pandya I visit that site when there is any doubt .
Do you know there is no active chat room for that site. Not even a primary one
That was some days ago. When I visited that site. I don't know current situation
Still no chat room.

@SreeCharan You have a Windows phone? I thought those were a total flop.

@KeshavSrinivasan Oh Thank you!... I just read that... interesting... actually now I want to see verses in Sanskrit...

@KeshavSrinivasan Haha. I bought one. It's good.

4:55 PM
@SreeCharan There is frozen room. (I think users of WP.SE might not be using chat rooms more)

@Pandya Not more.It is not at all.

@SreeCharan Do you want to use it? I can unfreeze and you'll be able to talk or ping some one may help :)

@SreeCharan Apparently it only made 5 million dollars in the past 3 months: forbes.com/sites/curtissilver/2017/05/01/…
@SreeCharan That's a truly minuscule amount of money.

@Pandya No.
Thanks for asking

Ok

5:06 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan But Nokia is back with android mobiles.It is known for its toughness
They were sold very quickly

Nokia is flop, it can never regain it's lost glory

@KeshavSrinivasan Yes. Windows phones are flop as they don't have good apps, like Android and ios.
@ChinmaySarupria I think it will regain its glory with new Android models. In India, Nokia is brand.

5:30 PM
@TheDestroyer I don't think so, Xiaomi and Motorola is dominating in below 15,000 segment, OnePlus is dominating in mid segment and iPhone in above 45k, Nokia doesn't fit

5:41 PM
@RohitSinghRathore OK thanks, I found it: archive.org/details/… So I now have 5 books on Utpaladeva's Ishwara Pratyabhijna :-)

5:51 PM
@RohitSinghRathore Tell me if you want any of them.

6:14 PM
@TheDestroyer yes lack of apps is a minus for Microsoft.
@ChinmaySarupria There is competition in below 15k segment. Let's see what happens.

6:30 PM
@SreeCharan Yeah.Actually it is chicken and egg problem. Developers don't develop apps as no of devices are less and people don't buy as there are less apps.

Yes @KeshavSrinivasan thanks. Do share If you have in pdf. :-)

@RohitSinghRathore I do have PDF's, but I don't want to share them here due to copyright issues. I can email them to you though. My email address is on my profile page.

6:54 PM
@RohitSinghRathore By the way, it turns out I have 4 books on the Ishwara Pratyabhijna, not 5. The 5th one is a translation of Utpaladeva's Vritti on Somananda's Shivadrishti.

7:05 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan Sure, I'm emailing you. :)
