A: Python - Reading Emoji Unicode Characters

pvgI don't think you're using encode correctly, nor do you need to. What you have is a valid unicode string with one 4 digit and one 8 digit escape sequence. Try this in the REPL on, say, OS X >>> s = u'that\u2019s \U0001f63b' >>> print s that’s 😻 In python3, though - Python 3.4.3 (default, Ju...

A: print python emoji as unicode string

Oh, here we go:

A: Correctly extract Emojis from a Unicode string

ivan_pozdeevFirst of all, in Python2, you need to use Unicode strings (u'<...>') for Unicode characters to be seen as Unicode characters. And correct source encoding if you want to use the chars themselves rather than the \UXXXXXXXX representation in source code. Now, as per Python: getting correct string l...

? Opinions?

2:57 PM
@Mithrandir Very likely nonsense spam assembled by a bot to advertise stealthily and/or probe us.
No ordinary person writes lorem ipsum into several parts of their post, and writes a spanish message with an english title on an english site.

@doppelgreener I asked a Stack Apps mod. Apparently not.

@doppelgreener thats Portuguese

@CalvT oh, thanks for the correction.

@doppelgreener it's an explanation of what lorem ipsum is

The Vogella site is a very highly regarded site for Eclipse plugin development run by one of the main Eclipse contributors, so this is very unlikely to be them spamming.

3:03 PM
"Lorem Ipsum is a model text from/in the typographical industry something from impressive"

@Riker Oh, huh. Yeah. Weird. Why.

@doppelgreener Because something needed a Stack Apps post, so that was a placeholder

^
so instead of pasting lorem ipsum itself, they just copied the first paragraph of the wiki page on it or something

@Mithrandir Oh yeah, could've been for userscript namespacing or something.

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Bad keyword in link text in body: Udemy is on a $15 sale. Is it worth to pursue? by Patrick Harper on stackoverflow.com

@Andy yes. TL;DR: a gem we use has some bad security practices in it; I've forked and fixed it, but the two aren't compatible so there's a migration we have to do to get from the old encryption to the new. Get the migration wrong, we lose all API write tokens, and probably a significant proportion of autoflagging users.
