then you should also not say world is unreal before realizing it.

@Tezz Yes i read somewhere similar statement , After millions of years , a jiva becames vishnu or para vasudeva , cant remember exactly though

@RakeshJoshi That's the concept.

but you keep saying this every day and night. so first you should stop saying it na

Truth is world is unreal. No one in Maya knows Truth correctly. Then why mocking Advaitins, as if you know truth? A realized person speaks as less as possible as he knows about behaviour of persons in maya. Even truth can't be explained by words. See how Daskhinamurthy taught his disciples.

as per sankara no external rituals or pooja can give jnanam ...

only sadhana chatushthaya makes one a jnani

he just did panchayatan pooja to show people to include all gods.. those who are not behind self enlgithenment
then shankara mustbe unrealized as he KEPT ON TALKING AND CRITICITING AND COMMENTING AND ARGUING ABOUT GOD throughout his life
so its not true that realized person talks less.
it depends if the person is introvert or extrovert

12:04 PM
@RakeshJoshi Yes he believed one can get Moksha through Gyna ...

he believed that external rituals r not useful for jnana . that is why he denounced all karamass .. even madatory vedic karmas
and some people here who claim to follow advaita are deep rooted in abhisheka and poojas :)
when he cut off his sacred thread and shikha .. he clarly states that vedic or any religious karmas or rituals are not useful for a mumukshu.
it is for only materialistic seekers,

@RakeshJoshi it is not necessary that follower of Advaita should do what Shankara did... Shankara is not inventor of Advaita...

@RakeshJoshi Ok. You are stubborn. You want others to accept your words. Please read Advaita again to understand it. Unrealized persons only know the concept. You can't live without eating food though world is not real. Because knowing concept doesn't make you realized. Realization doesn't come instantly. In any path, you will become enlightened slowly.

@RakeshJoshi even when I didn't knew about Shankara... and after reading Upanishads... my view was very close to Advaita....

i m talking of religious rituals . please do not divert the words.
i will quote sadhana chatushthaya and commentaries of sankaras
@Tezz then tell me how can a mumukshu attain enligthenenemnt with rituals ? which advaita supports your view ?
when i say from vedas then also you have problem. when i repeatsankaras words then also you hgave issues.

12:10 PM
@RakeshJoshi well... rituals which lead to BrahmaLoka will finally lead to Jnanam.. as Jnana is entitled in BrahmaLoka... and Jnana leads moksha...

you are in vijayavada . you can come to chennai we will go kanchi and you can confirm my words with sankaras there. about mumukshi\
@Tezz advaitin only focuses on moksha.. for attaininglokas there is lot of karmakanda but advaitins support only jnana kanda. i.e so called vedanta

@RakeshJoshi Vedanta isn't Advaita only it's Vishistitadvaita, Dvaita, Bhedabheda etc.. too

i talk with certainity because i have evolved in spiritualiuty with my upasana.a from beginner , ritualist to a state of beyond rituals and formalities and internal journey.
its long journey .. i did spend a long time in this journey. i cant say about yours how long you have been into upasana .

Actually Vishav puranas are more popular among general population like Shreemad Bhgvatam , its has got millions of Hard copies printed so it appears that , Gods ran to vishnu all the time , But other puranas Hard copies are not much in print , so people know much less abt. stories from that. Also Satvik , Tamasik purana concept is there (in which I do not believe)

@RakeshJoshi Adi Shankara believes that Karma kanda and Jnana Kanda are seperated in the Vedas itself... he gives certain arguments like this:
2
Q: Were the mantras of the Isha Upanishad ever used in Yagnas?

Keshav SrinivasanAs I discuss in this answer, each of the four Vedas consists of four portions: Samhitas, the core part of the Vedas which consist of mantras heard from the gods; Brahmanas, commentaries on the Samhitas which provide instructions on the proper conducting of important Vedic Yagnas; Aranyakas, which...

12:14 PM
thanks that you finally refused something of puranas @SwiftPushkar there is no need to run to anyone . vedic gods are powerful.
@Tezz so please make sure which advaita you are following and for what purpose?

if you are following advaita vedanta then you should follow what sankara preached or accept that his preachings were not fully correct.

for mumukshu he discards all rituals .

@RakeshJoshi No, it isn't necessary that I should exactly follow/believe what Shankara believed... I can have my own belief/theories etc...

But Every purana has its own different taste and flavor , its we who fail to observe the actual message of puranas , Puranas are Glories of Ishwara , Bhagvan ....Supreme Brahman only ...But For written for mass public understanding

if moksha is your goal then going to temples and doing big poojas wil not do any good to you. its doing only good to the priest and shop owners.

@RakeshJoshi Also, consider Historic situations during time of Shankara.

@Tezz then accept that you dont find all the teaching of sankara correct hence you disagree with him in certain areas. because till yesterday you were talking like ardent advaitin .

12:18 PM
@RakeshJoshi This is very bad idea. First you shouldn't have any financial problems or health problem to get Moksha. You can go to temples, for Dharmica Problems.

@RakeshJoshi Hmm.. I'm an Advaitin still... but this doesn't mean that I follow/believe exactly what Shankara did...

@RakeshJoshi Unless we develope Shradha , we wont gona get moksha , without faith its not possible , its step by step procedure , cant get Phd. in kintergartan. So IMO Temples and pooja is away to develope Faith in Ishwara.

so you mean all vedantins first worried about finance before going to vedanta ?
@SwiftPushkar that is what i m saying sadhana chatusthaya is prescribed for mumukshu and it has shraddha as its main part

@RakeshJoshi why did you bring all Vedantins into picture? You analyze words without context which is very dangerous. Are you initiated into Vedas?

@TheDestroyer keeping history in mind first of all i would never bother visiting any ritualist at all ...

poor kumarila was on his death bed yet sankara did not spare him and wanted to have arguent with hi,m... then he directed him to his pupil mandana

what is need to defeat a ritualist? let him follow rituals if he wants swarga

Q: What were the exact reasons of birth of all the Shivansh?

SeekerAfter going through stories of Shivansh, following things happened to be common- All were against Lord Shiva. All were against Devas despite of the fact they were born out of MahAdeva. All resulted into the great chaos. All had Asuri Pravritti or supported Asuras? So, is there any subtle r...

waht is this question :) ??

if i wwere in his place i would go on to argyue with jinas and buddhists like how ramanuja and sri madhwa did

@RakeshJoshi I think Kumarila did that due to Buddhists...

yes like that shankara should had done .. instead of defeating fellow hindus .

Hey all Time for me to take leave ... Bye ...

@RakeshJoshi Yeah. IF 12th class student follows a girl and rebukes his parents. Poor kid, we shouldn't say him to study first. if we didn't say, his life would be spoiled or he would face difficulties later.

12:25 PM
@TheDestroyer you talk as if you have learned puranas in gurukula . then you talk as if you have learned vedanta from authorized acharyas. yet you ask others for their credibility .

yes with upanayan i was initiated into vedas . i did brahma upasana (gayatri) for some time then i was initiated into shakti/ yoga sadhana

That was because Hinduism had become extremely ritualistic during Shankaras period...

@RakeshJoshi too much of anything is good for nothing.

@Tezz let them become ritualistic .. 60-70% vedas talk of rituals right ? then let them select. how is ritualism harmful ??
with pujyasri gurus and gods grace i have progressed well in spirituality and soon i will be close to enligthenment

@RakeshJoshi My understanding is better than someone, who cherrypicks verses and condemn certain puranas as Tamasic. I see Bhakti or take good content and understand morals behind stories in all Puranas. I feel this undestanding is good.

i only condemn those verses then i will have to pick them only na

why should i talk against verses which glofiry gods
after all scriptres are written for singing glory of gods only

12:31 PM
@RakeshJoshi I'm not saying about you.

cherry picking is not bad ...

we should condemn only which speaks wrong .. not everything

@RakeshJoshi You feel Puranas demean Vedic Gods because you didn't read Puranas. In reality, they don't do it.

osama bin laden was bad person ... but i have to condemen only what he speaks wring ...

if he says sun rises from the east then i cant refute him

@RakeshJoshi Cherrypicking without context is dangerous.

that is again your asseumtptuins ... if i had not read then how will i know that verses and stories which speak bad

12:33 PM
@RakeshJoshi You read only few selected stories. Which puranas you read?

according to me there is no need to do controversial stories about a deity to show anything good

@RakeshJoshi You are thinking they are controversial. But they are not. Read them under as Guru.

first you do then preach others.
for talking of srimad bhagwat i dont need to read all the thousads of verses thorougghty

if so many people are quoting vedas here have they read whole samhitas of rigveda and other sections ?
there are no such rules

@RakeshJoshi My understanding is close to understanding of Acharyas on Puranas. I don't need to go Guru Now.

this is self made assessement anyways

12:37 PM
@RakeshJoshi I listen to pravachanam of Chaganti Koteswara Rao, Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma too and note their teachings too.

they are not acharyas but upanyasakara
acharyas means jayendra saraswati , pedda jeeyar .

@RakeshJoshi whatever you think. Puranas don't demean Vedic Gods as you understood.

who teach upasana

@RakeshJoshi No. Read about them.
Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao is an Indian scholar known for his discourses in Sanatana Dharma. A reader of spiritual pravachanams on various puranams and epics like Srimad Ramayanam, Srimad Bhagavatam, Soundaryalahari, Lalita sahasranama stotram etc., his discourses are widely followed and are telecast over television channels such as Bhakti TV and TTD and is quite popular among the Telugu speaking people all over the world. Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao an eminent preacher, born to Chaganti Sundara Siva Rao, and Suseelamma. He married Subrahmanyeswari and blessed with two children Shanmukhacharan...

ok indra did very good by running away from demons . did good to women . is that you people want ?

12:39 PM
Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma (born 26 June 1967) is a popular person on television in India, and well appreciated for his commentary/discourses on Rudra Namakam, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sivanandalahari, Soundarya Lahari, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Siva Tatvam, Ganapathi Tatwam, Sri Krishna Tatwam, Ramayanam, Bhagavatam, the Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharatham, Dakshinamurti Tattvam, Sutha Samhitha, Aditya Hrdayam and the kritis of different Vaggeyakaras. == Early life == Sri Samavedam shanmukha Sarma was born to Sri Samavedam Rama Murthy Sarma and Smt. Ramanamma in 1967, in Asika, Orissa. He completed...
@RakeshJoshi Mylavarapu srinivasa rao says it's testing.
I showed my question too.

in this link it does not say he is any acharya or anything . he is just an orator on scriptures. what is his official lineage?
you beleive these two are enlightened souls ?

Online sites don't give much info about them. You can ask about them to any of your Gurus. They may say you.
@RakeshJoshi I don't want to judge any of them. I am not qualified to do that. Even you can't do that.

but you are expert in giving certificates to people on internet :)
guru should be highly evolved soul . not just scholar else it wont be much use
chaganti rao comes to chennai often . many chettiars here

@RakeshJoshi Online people are not scholars. How can you say a person is evolved soul?

that you have to judge before making someone your guru . not me .
there are qualities of guru and sishya of which many should match

12:45 PM
@RakeshJoshi Realized soul knows the truth. he shouldn't support any philosphy. Vedanta or Yoga or Advaita or something.

you have to decide yourself .. it can be right or wrong
so sankara not realized he supported philosophy ? raghavendra supported dwaita etc

@RakeshJoshi Realized souls know truth.

@RakeshJoshi No one knows complete truth. Shankara knew part of it and Ramanuja knew part of it... and so others.

so this means enlightenment is partial or complete etc ?

12:49 PM
@RakeshJoshi For followers, their Guru has complete enlightenement. There should be no differences in philosophies among enlightened souls.

these upanyasakara are doing it for profession . . for their living
not for sake of spirituality

@RakeshJoshi Don't assume anything. Chaganti never takes a single rupee from anyone.

what about another ?

@RakeshJoshi I don't much about him. @SreeCharan may know.

not every one who freebies is great.. analyze his guru parampara . his credibility .
if at all he allows commoners to meet :)
if you are satisfied then you can learn upasana from him

12:53 PM
@RakeshJoshi Don't comment on anyone if you have no idea about a person. Don't generalize all pravachana scholars live for money. This stereotyping is very dangerous.

nothing dangerous
its only dangerous because you have high regatrds for him
there is hell lot of difference between orator and sadguru .

1 hour later…
2:15 PM
@RakeshJoshi Not only boys are named after Sai. These days girls are also named after Sai. Sai X

@RakeshJoshi While we are arguing about something here, please don't take it till personal level.

like ?

20 hours ago, by Rakesh Joshi
what is your qualification ?
I don't know who/what you meant. But some may get hurt. We don't know other's spiritual level.
2 days ago, by Rakesh Joshi
did they check your gunas? just by being born in some family you got the thread. what is your contribution then ?

but when they ask what is my level of spiritual learning why not anyone raise question?

when they make comments that i dont understand shastra then also you were silent ?

2:21 PM
We do not know about gunas of other people and we can't judge just by conversation of 1 hour.

it was a statement that who is checking gunas before giving sacred threat to people ? they are just giving on birth

If you meant in a positive way, it is okay.
The second message was directed to me. you said People like me stop non-brahmins learn vedas. I don't have intention about keeping people from Vedas and sanskrit. In fact I tell about stotras, verses about God to my friends.

because you said you believe that its stated in brahma sutras.
and you uphold birth based varna

It was Keshav Srinivasan.

but there was something which was said on caste hence i said so

2:28 PM
I said I follow birth based Varna and do not totally reject Guna based varna.

then partially reject?

You can check my messages.

if you dont like then i will avoid interaction with you.

Why?

cos i dont feel that i have said anything wrong or harmful to anyone

2:30 PM
One who are able to be a sattva and are eligible to learn Vedas and scriptures should not be rejected. That is what I said.
No need to stop talking.

then who will decide gunas ?
the very fact that he is inerested in vedas is his brahma jijnasa

But when we comment on anyone who is regarded by others some may feel bad.

in that sense i said that you and me and all are given thread on basis of birth only no one sees the gunas
regarded by others ?

For example, the two who The Destroyer quoted. They are learned men. They have knowledge of scriptures. They do not claim themselves as acharya to anyone. They preach about puranas and other aspects out of their interests. their followers call them as Guru. We cannot decide their spirituality level.
I agree with you that there is a difference between acharya and upanyasaka.
@RakeshJoshi I would not remain silent.

then you can go and ask in mutt also . that what are fundamentals qualities of guru
what is the lineage of chaganti rao and shanmuga sharma?
every scholars or learned person might not be a guru .

2:37 PM
They are not sanyasis. they are grihastus.
I too have a guru and took initiation into Pancharatra.
@RakeshJoshi Yes.

what has marital status to do with guru

I didn't mean that only sannyasis can be gurus. They follow advaita and revere Sankaracharya.
But many gurus are sanyasis. Like you said Jayendra saraswati, Pedda jeeyar swami etc.,

if you want to go in vedanta then you have to follow them
since i dont believe in vedanta nor sanyasa. hence i do not subscribe to vedanta or sanyasa .

them means?

3:10 PM
@RakeshJoshi Do you believe in the teaching of Primary Upanishads?

3:37 PM
@Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan I've found Rigveda 1.164 very interesting.

4:19 PM
@Pandya - Do you know what is "Muñja-grass." is it Durva ?

@SwiftPushkar No, I don't know about Munja-grass but What is called Durva? lawn?

@Pandya - Yes ,kind a lawn grass , but we offer that to Ganesha in pooja ,

@SwiftPushkar ok. No, I think I don't know about it. (I may know Gujarati name)

@Pandya - may be ધરો [dharō] , i cant read gujrathi though😊

@SwiftPushkar ok. I'll ask to elders; they may know.

4:43 PM
@Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer I've found Gita Supersite has added new category Upanishads!:
Check out : Upanishads.ttik.ac.in /cc @Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer
Currently available translations and commentaries are:

@SwiftPushkar Munji means a silky grass which Brahmins wear as a girdle.

Darbha?

5:00 PM
@Pandya I think they are different.
@Pandya It is tied to a vatuvu's thread during upanayana.

ok

@TheDestroyer Number is back.

@SreeCharan ohh.. I'm on mobile.
I can't see

@KrishnShweta Did you see my answer about Krishnarpanam.

@Tezz @KeshavSrinivasan what's story of Durvasa muni cursing Saraswathi?

5:11 PM
@SreeCharan No... I've seen the other one... BG answer.

@TheDestroyer @KrishnShweta What is the origin of the story that Bibi Nancharamma married Venkateshwara?

@SreeCharan folk story. Not mentioned in a scriptures.

@SreeCharan oh ok got it😊

@TheDestroyer Yes. I am asking what is the base of it?

@SreeCharan i think there is temple in kadapa.
She married Venkateswara there.

5:13 PM
@TheDestroyer When I read about it in some website, it said in Rayalaseema they say this story. I thought you may know it.
@The Devuni Kadapa?

@Pandya - Dharbha is different grass , i thinks it's a dried one which is mainly used during Shradha ceremony.

@SreeCharan maybe. Not sure

@TheDestroyer Even if it's true, by marriage they meant thru bhakti. But that story is used more to support inter caste marriage. In Sri Ramadasu movie also, ANR says this.

@SreeCharan haha. Let them interpret in their own way.😀

@SwiftPushkar Did you listen to "Ye teeruga nanu daya joochedavo" by Ramadasu? I said it long ago.

5:20 PM
@SreeCharan - No i haven't , but will😊👍 , BTW , i have heard all his other songs👌

@SwiftPushkar The channel owner's? Hanuman chalisa is very good. Especially that little girl Soorya Gayatri.
@TheDestroyer ఎడిట్ చేయబోయి డిలీట్ చేశావా?

@SreeCharan Yes , i like her style too.She is really talented in singing👍

@SreeCharan నన్ను అడిగావేమో అనుకున్నా..

@KrishnShweta Did you listen to this song?

@SreeCharan Sorry... I didn't.
:(

5:28 PM
@KrishnShweta Paata vinte ramudu kshamistadu le. :P

@SreeCharan బాగా చెప్పావ్..😁

Haha..... but I'm fed up by saying "I don't know" all the time :(

@SreeCharan - Yes , that prayer has arised from deep devotion towards shree Rama and from deep inside of heart of Bhadrachala Ramadas.Also Kuldeep pai has sung it from very heart.Excellent prayer.Like it very much.👍👍

@SwiftPushkar Do you understand Punjabi?

@KrishnShweta Not whole ,but can understood some familiar Hindi alike sentences only , by guess work😀 So not full.

5:32 PM
I want to know the meaning of "Chadariya jheeni re jheeni" ^^
I know Chadariya meaning

darbha = kusha = daab

@KrishnShweta - i think jheeni jheeni means a kind of sound created by Anklet from foot , or bangle's etc.A wild guess 😀

@KrishnShweta This life is like a very thin transparent shawl.
delicate/thin

i think sree is right

5:37 PM
Yeah... @SreeCharan Thanks :)

@SreeCharan Wow 👏🍬🍫

@KeshavSrinivasan What was user Krishna's rep when he left the site? Do you have any idea?

@SreeCharan why?

@TheDestroyer Just curious

5:45 PM
I think 1.1k or 1.2 k

@TheDestroyer Among all the deleted users, his name is seen often in comments and discussions.
OK.

@SreeCharan he used to get into arguments/ debates quickly. 🤐

@SreeCharan No, the Stackexchange system doesn't preserve the reputation number of a deleted user. But I have a list of his posts along with their vote scores, so in principle I could reconstruct his reputation.
@Pandya This seems promising, but for some reason I'm not able to get the translations and commentaries to actually show up. I click the check mark next to the commentary I want to see and then click the display selected translations button, but nothing happens. It only shows the Sanskrit verse.

@TheDestroyer If he was still in this site, @Keshav's unanswered questions under would be answered.Currently they are 47.

Q: What do the Vedas say about the Earth?

Amit SaxenaThis article mentions this about Earth in Hinduism Earth is represented as goddess, which feeds everyone. All the forms of earth and of life on it are the children of earth. Rivers, trees animals are attendants of the earth goddess. What do the Vedas say about the Earth?

5:50 PM
@SwiftPushkar Yes. I know.

@SreeCharan yeah.

@SreeCharan Haha, the user Krishna didn't know everything. He was a knowledgable user, but he wasn't able to answer most of my Sri Vaishnavism questions when he was on the site. Still, even though he quit the site, I still email him when I post a new Sri Vaishnavism question to see if he has any information.

@Keshav But a few. One of the accepted answers to your question is by him. Those people should be awarded a separate badge. Accept from you is very rare. :)

@SreeCharan Haha yeah

@KeshavSrinivasan oh ok , i was also wondering why he left the site , as ,like shreecharan i have also seen his comments (black letters) often.

6:00 PM
@SwiftPushkar He left the site because of disputes with the user Parthasarathy Raghavan.

But there is no answer to that question too. @TheDestroyer [In reply to comment]. New guy added an image too.

@SwiftPushkar I discussed the reason earlier in chat:
Sep 25 '16 at 17:46, by Keshav Srinivasan
@Tezz @TheDestroyer Krishna criticized some of Parthasarathy Raghavan's questions about Balarama and the like, and Parthasarathy Raghavan didn't like that and argued with him. Krishna was worried that if he continued arguing with Parthasarathy Raghavan he would be committing Bhagavata Apacharam (offending a fellow Vaishnava). So he decided to quit the site.

@SreeCharan yeah. That's why i wrote. 😀
We can edit old one.

@KeshavSrinivasan oh ok , BTW Parthasarathy Raghavan is also not active from some days .

yevuru partha sarathy ?

6:03 PM
@TheDestroyer Anyways, the dup. hammer has been applied.

@SreeCharan grace of Kesava..😁
@KeshavSrinivasan did you manually delete my comment in above case or it got deleted automatically?

damn .. same city .. looks like he might be visiting Partha sarathy temple often .
whch is a divya desham :)

Q: How was Hanuman able to burn Lanka down?

srimannarayana k vWhile searching for Sita in Lanka, Sri Hanuma saw many arches/windows/doors made of gold, some houses decorated with gold, floors studded with many precious stones. When Sri Hanuma started setting the Lanka to fire, he moved from roof-top of one house to another with his burning tail. Sage Valm...

See comment of parth trivedi
Because he was Hanuman. :P — Parth Trivedi May 24 '16 at 9:28

PT not much substance it seems in his answers .
Sri Ramakrishna
[Photo taken at the studio of Bengal Photographers on 10 December 1881]
Ramakrishna to Keshab (with a smile):
"Today I enjoyed very much the machine by which a man's picture is taken. One thing I noticed was that the impression doesn't stay on a bare piece of glass, but it remains when the glass is stained with a black solution. In the same way, mere hearing of spiritual talk doesn't leave any impression. People forget it soon afterwards. But they can retain spiritual instruction if they are stained with earnestness and devotion."

6:20 PM
@RakeshJoshi he is here 2 years before u , so definitely he knows more than u , abt. this site and abt. lots of other things :p

A: Are there any strong evidence that Hinduism religion is an ancient one?

Parth TrivediThrough out the world, every where, whenever researchers,archaeologists find shiva lingam from earth, they reach to the decision that hindu people may lived here before some time. Shiva lingam is found from Omsk city Russia, Africa, Afghanistan, Ireland, Greece, Mongolia, Siberia, Vatican Rome, ...

@RakeshJoshi - you only can disprove him , if you take more points than he has got , in one of your answer :)

not about site but about religion

@RakeshJoshi lots of other things abt .religion , of course :)

Hey all will sleep now , Bye TC GN & very good rest of the day to @KeshavSrinivasan

@SreeCharan Congratulations!! (Golden :P )
@SwiftPushkar Good night.

Sri Aurobindo- God has not created this world, He has become this world, He is this world.
The Divine is infinite possibility. The Divine is an eternal Child playing an eternal game in an eternal garden. We have not to lose ourselves in God, but to find ourselves in God.
Hard is to be in the world, free, yet living the life of ordinary men; but because it is hard, therefore it must be attempted and accomplished.

@SwiftPushkar @KrishnShweta @RakeshJoshi Good night.
