If the mods don't step in too fast, this might become a classic.

@Glorfindel Yeah, I'm trying to think of a witty response ;p

I remember Peter Parker doing this to a psychiatrist.

Wait, so how do they link Pt and energy?

@M.A.R. because platinum is heavy, and mass is energy

@M.A.R. Good question
Platinum as a metal is not very dangerous, but platinum salts can cause several health effects, such as:

- DNA alterations
- Cancer
- Allergic reactions of the skin and the mucous membrane
- Damage to organs, such as intestines, kidneys and bone marrow
- Hearing damage

Hmm, so . . . Only sounds with high energy can damage hearing.

@M.A.R. (and maybe others) you might want to retract your flag here. The post has been edited in the grace period.

@Glorfindel ʕ ⊃・ ◡ ・ ʔ⊃︵┻━┻
I don't remember what it was now
Today is the global day for weird spammers.

We still have MS.

12:12 PM
Or weird users, for that matter

Ahh

That's... bad. @Mithrandir if you're around, this post was autoflagged with your account but is now no longer flag-worthy; you'll want to retract the flag.

@ArtOfCode thx, I just checked MS feedback and M.A.R. and I were the only one.

@Glorfindel I'd flagged it too

12:16 PM
BTW, do we now have someone with an MS account that doesn't have auto-flagging enabled?

The number of users is larger, but I don't know which part of them is still 'active'.

@Glorfindel participants is counted as the number of users who've got the box ticked.

@ArtOfCode I left a comment on the post, explaining things. This might cause any lingering flags to be disputed instead of declined.

@ArtOfCode I've pinged the WP mods about this, so with any luck they'll dispute it rather than decline it if Mithrandir hasn't retracted it by then.

@ArtOfCode the last 100 posts were autoflagged by 17 different participants.

@ArtOfCode the error is that when I try to flag, it says "The post has been deleted"

12:23 PM
@M.A.R. any suggestions about what to do about it?

@Glorfindel randomness :)
@MarkYisri that's not an FDSC error - you're just not catching the post before it gets deleted

There isn't room in the chat message; it already becomes too long if there are too many reasons.
@MarkYisri that means you're just too slow :P

@Glorfindel I had. A userscript that shows whose autoflag is used, if we're not going to edit the Smokey message.
@MarkYisri It's not error, it's lag :)

@M.A.R. that could work, yeah. Can be added to the userscripts repo too

@M.A.R. are you on Github?

12:26 PM
@M.A.R. sounds good. You might want to submit a feature request on the GitHub page.

@ArtOfCode @Mithrandir your flag on this should have been disputed rather than declined - sounds like I caught a WP mod in time

The last time I used a GitHub account was X weeks ago
I'm not a programmer.

I use the sound notifications, I have it set to 'visible room' so I get notified of every post.
Sometimes, this gets too noisy and then I'll switch it back to 'when mentioned'.
You're probably aware of that, but it's already possible to be mentioned for spam reports on specific sites.

I built a quick Electron app that displays this chatroom & notifies about any new SmokeDetector reports with a desktop notification. When the notification is clicked, it displays the post in a new window.
(The GasMask script is included, and the appropriate “flag” link is auto-clicked)
If anyone’s interested in a copy, I can provide the source and build instructions.

@JF sounds cool, I might as well try it out

I’m writing up the instructions now; I’ll post a link in a few.

(you might need to expand the window to see it)

@JF Yes, but I kinda like having those on for Chrome
shrug your bit works, anyway :)
The other question is whether it works only on report messages, or whether it pings you on the various other stuff Smokey posts too

J F
@ArtOfCode It’s only reports — see ui/messages.js:29 and :53.

@JF on :29 - not all Smokey reports have the MS component, maybe make that optional?

@dorukayhan so one of those was from review, and the other from FDSC?

@ArtOfCode exactly

Yeah, that shouldn't be a thing. We do have code somewhere to stop that happening, but there might be some weirdness around logged in or API feedback

@ArtOfCode that's been broken for a while, it only works when you give one feedback via the API and the other via review/chat

it feels so darn awesome to witness the deletion of a rant on meta stack overflow

11:04 PM
@ArtOfCode quick sanity check: you have to have reviewer privs to give feedback via the API, right?

@angussidney Should be fixed now

@angussidney yep. If that's not how it is right now, it certainly should be

I seem to recall doing something about requiring reviewer roles to use the write API, but that may have been about review instead
