12:03 AM
@DavidPostill they do, but the chap who just walked in completely skipped those and went right for the dodgy bits
Ah, interesting moderation problems.
Least as far as voting goes, the community seems to want something I feel is clearly not good for the site, and against the TOS

12:27 AM
@JourneymanGeek It's only been four hours, we should wait a while before declaring a new consensus IMO
Might it be worth poking a CM to see if there are TOS issues?

@BenN well, my first reaction was to go UNDO. Y U DO THIS?
@BenN they check the meta sites

I take it now wouldn't be a good time to revisit the web apps policy? :p
It would be good IMO if there was one central place we can point people to that explains why they're off-topic. I'm perfectly comfortable with the current situation, but sometimes people ask, and I haven't found a widely accepted explanation

hmmmm?

@BenN I'm grumpy cause somehow I woke up just as this happened, and a few other things. ;p

i just woke up too

12:40 AM
isnt it true that we are answering questions already that are about a hackintosh, and it is not known that is the platform? That there is participation utalising such boxes, and it just isnt in your face how to we jailbreak an Iphone

@Psycogeek policy at the moment is "how to do it" is against the TOS
and we typically close hackintosh questions as a matter of policy, except in a very few cases.

Step 1: Buy a Mac
Step 2: Download OSX to a pendrive
Step 3: Buy a PC
Step 4: Spend a good portion of your life trying to get OSX installed
Step 5: Go live in a tree
seeing you can't get OSX without a mac in the first place....

Legally at least ;p

and the digital millenium copyright act , has some wording in it that says you cant tell people how to break code that the purpose is to protect the . . whatever. so legally IF it isnt about bypassing licence and breaking law, it still gets done.
If there was a line drawn at the point of NO , then the rest of it can continue. If hackintoshers knew they could get all info but illegal, they might tend to side with the "ban"

(also, go vote for whatever you agree with)

12:45 AM
already done

@Psycogeek most of the information about creating a hackintosh machine's out there, publicly.

i voted for the question, your answer and @allquixotic's

Also, for things like this, I really do prefer an answer saying the other alternative...
but erm
I'm just a little mad at undo.
and If I wrote it, it would start with monty python quotes.

why?
fixer's answer has descended into a massive argument on semantics

hmm, he's not quite a site regular, a headsup would have been nice....
and at some point I'm just going to ping a CM and ask them to make a ruling cause we're probably going to swing back and forth.

12:49 AM
We dont have to enforce anyones EULA , we just dont break the laws and rules of them.

I feel that this whole discussion would be better if the question was more questiony as opposed to opinion-staty

lol
this is true
it would be amusing if there were opinion based closevotes...

Might it be worth poking Undo to ask him to adjust the question?
Since that seems to be at least part of your frustration

I think what were talking about here is a breakdown of the Entire Society :-)

Oh man, the !!starfissure command I added would be perfect here but the bot is dead :(

12:52 AM
fracking toaster

@BenN I don't typically moderate annoyed ;)

@JourneymanGeek wrong side of the basket?

but yeah, commented, both expressing my frustration, and asking for an answer defending the question

@Burgi maybe. Also, the timing.way I woke up was odd. Some of the wording, he's not someone I see around SU much...

1:01 AM
the hackintosh revisit question has been brewing for a couple of months, there has been a spike in people asking about it
anyway... spaceships...

Only one I remember off hand was shog ;p
and he's basically one of the people who can go "this is fine" and I'll be "Ok!"

yea like it is very low likely that anyone would be suing us :-) it is only the site that would get cease and desisted
a site like that has at least one lawyer they can talk to, so most of it would be their problem

2:02 AM
hmm...
the guy who wrote the tab groups plugin is quitting firefox
@Bob @DavidPostill ^^^^

2:28 AM
@Burgi Noticed that, too, but doesn't really impact me as I no longer rely on the feature.

i use it all the time

I also appear to have somehow paid for some random girls' falafels

Thats cool, just walk by and say "I had put my medicine in it, i hope your ok still" :-)
then begin descibing a bowel problem your trying to solve :-)

i just watched a video on lambda calculus and i still don't understand it

went to the dentist today , got a new smile {-;

So... I guess that we never really broke up, but it's all secret and stuff now...

@Rahul2001 and by now you know what That means dontcha?

@Psycogeek hm?

not enough self esteem to admit she likes you to everyone else.
you could read the book, but they do you no good until after you been there and done that. so there is the Movie instead :-) imdb.com/title/tt4974526/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_40

@Psycogeek nope actually... If the teachers hear about us, we'll get suspended for a week, and her mom hates me anyway, so right now only close friends know about us...

what gulag are you going to school in :-)

Uh huh, if you get caught hugging or kissing or even just holding hands and talking too much, you get suspended

5:00 AM
with the admonishment that you should have "git a room, you two"
I'll tell you right now, if you get her pregnant all that other stuff does't mater.
Cause it trumps it :-)

5:14 AM
@Psycogeek he's in india, its a bit mad there

wait what?
I think DragonLord is waffling :-)
who gets to "Blow Stuff Up" on chinese new year? Myself i am going to ask all the buyers comming to the house "Where is your Red Envelope?"

Looks like all of it.

Love being accused of accusing somebody of having an invalid product key when I point out there technically not eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 10 :$
it's a miss understanding but I bet it won't ever be acknowledged that I didn't do what the user accuse me of doing....( perhaps I should just go get breakfast....)

6:14 AM
@Ramhound sometimes comments arn't worth it

The user is having a hell of a time installing Windows 7 on his machine with the intention of upgrading the installation to Windows 10. When I shared he could install Windows 10 with his Windows 7 key, well he provided clear proof, he isn't looking to do it the easy way.

ah. I see that
comments cleared. ;p

Thanks... getting blamed for the distasteful image above...

6:32 AM
Sometimes, you just need to take a step back ;p
sigh
@Ramhound eh. Disengage. I don't think commenting is helping anyone get closer to a solution
@Psycogeek ehhh. That was... kinda uncalled for.
Either that or you have terrible timing

Yeah I have. I also reversed my vote.Correct a word that was spelled incorrectly (needed a reason). Would have waited for somebody else to do it but that would have taken awhile.
I sometimes hate that I am as moveable as a cement blocked...when it comes to policy....it's red or green...black or white....horrible personality to have at times.
Somebody reply to his comment with this link: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12440/windows-10-activation

eh. Let things cool down a bit

So basically what you were saying is that everyone that has ANY version (Retail or OEM) gets Windows 10 for free now via using your PK? I will have to look that up since the research I did 12 hours agot got mixed results. — Rich Manson 5 mins ago
I am going to stuff my face with food instead of worrying about their problem (I hate problems) but life is to short to worry about it any longer

What's a PK?
unrelatedly

6:49 AM
oh gawd, there's a kitten roaming about in the street
very tempted

My Schnauzer is starting to get smarter then us.... we are worried he might be the Cesar (Planet of the Apes reference) of Schnauzers
All that cat did was purrrr, lame :-)

cute cat though

lol
Schnauzers are pretty bloody smart

7:01 AM
He has Windows 10 Education from the sounds of it

ah, alas

Or a MSDN copy of Pro

I assumed they'd run 7. Used to have those things at work
MSDN = retail
and they call it dreamspark now
unless they changed the name again

They did... I think... who knows ...
(Reference to Supernatural)

lol. I think all of us are too young or old to know ;p

7:04 AM
It should be possible to link the license to a MS account, and since its similar enough hardware, it should figure it out. Clearly not the intended use of that feature though.
One license makes more sense :$

lol
though I think OP's more worried about his drivers
I do think the other answer, that it bluescreens assumes they are dissimilar hardware.

7:24 AM
"Excel’s rounding functions can be used to mask some of Excel's binary conversion errors, but not all."
"Binary conversion errors may seem small, but they are stealthy and cause unexpected problems without warning. During the Gulf War, a binary conversion error led to the deaths of 28 American soldiers (and around 100 injured) on February 25th, 1991 when an American Patriot missile failed to intercept an Iraqi SCUD missile headed toward their Army barracks. The error was caused by storing time in 1/10 second increments, with binary conversion errors on converting 0.1 to binary."
"Though each conversion error was tiny, the error accumulated enough to make the Patriot's navigation software miss the SCUD, which then reached its target. Never underestimate the insidious, destructive power of binary conversion errors."

Whoah...

Time for a laugh

Q: Can I talk to my rubber duck at work?

kukisI have noticed I have had great success using another co-worker as a metaphorical rubber duck (sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally). It improves my productivity vastly. However, I know that it probably distracts others when I am using them in that way. That's why I want to buy a l...

I guess I can comment in chat now. Points must take a while to register on the server.

Daily; Yes

@RichManson yeah, its a different 'system' in many ways
Welcome to chat ;p

7:28 AM
I was going to delete some questions but now I see it will take away points and I won't be able to chat in here afterwards.
Thanks Journeyman

shrug I typically suggest people let the community do closures or deletions
self deletions/closures rarely end well.

Explain, I could imaging other closing or deleting your question may not end well but not self unless someone answered ans lost points from that.

too many closed/deleted questions or deleted answers could lead to an automatic ban on that class of posts
No idea what's the criteria, and we mods can't undo it for you.

no idea on criteria meaning nobody know how many is too many?

Yup. On purpose
(and evading suspension bans by starting new accounts is a bad idea too)
As you can tell, busy day today ;p

7:33 AM
I'll go ahead and edit the 2nd one now before people start posting comments and answers to a question that will vastly change.

lol. I'm probably going to go back and nuke the comments
(comments are meant to be temporary anyway)

How do you put one on hod as I have seen [On Hold]?

As Geek as eluded to, removing questions/answers when you have so few of them, isn't a good idea.

On hold = closure
but they kinda made it kinder and gentler since "on hold" holds up hope of reopening
and many times, I post comments when it just needs a nudge

on hold questions eventually are nuked, over time, or it's suppose to happen. Either through improvement, or whatever the community decision is
so you don't want a bunch of "on hold" questions. They are harder to improve because, depending on the close reason, and the 5 votes required to reopen the question. Easier to improve an existing open question instead of asking multiple similar questions
(Going back to my hole now)
(all question/answers) you submit count towards or against your ability to submit new questions/answers) think it as like karma. It stays with ya, even if you, forget about it :-)

7:45 AM
What about deleting an answer?

Anything you submit counts for/against
So if you delete an answer it still counts for/against
System takes into account if an answer was submitted to an answer that's deleted.

Your last two post totally confused me. I deleted my answer you downgraded and it gave me back the two points that your downgrade took away. So the way it seam to work would suggest that your wrong as I understand what your saying. Unless I don't understand and am really .... as I said , confused.

You got the reputation back. Your ability to submit questions or answers isn't based on your reputation.

not to mention, most people don't realise the point of downvotes isn't quite to punish
If someone downvotes (or comments) they're trying to either get more information or consider a question "not good enough"
and if the issues are fixed, the option of undoing the downvote is always there

I know that. Anyone, even a new user can submit answers and questions.

7:53 AM
A vote indicates the question or answer is helpful or unhelpful. It signals the question or answer should be improved. Only when a question or answer is improved can the vote can be reversed

Ramhound said , "anything you submit or delete counts for/against you
The thing I really don't understand that he said was, "(all question/answers) you submit count towards or against your ability to submit new questions/answers) think it as like karma"'

Geek explain that there is a formula or system that determines if you can submit a question or not.
Well all questions you have submitted are taken into account

"The option of undoing the downvot is always there"? Thats if the user that downvoted you checks back to see the edit. They may never come back to that particular question
2
How much can you edit your question? Is there a limit of sorts. A percentage of words that can be changed or removed or added?

Which goes back to, you have to still improve the question, before that's even a possibility.
You should make actual significant improvements. The rule on edits is broad for a reason. It allows for actual improvements instead of just superficial ones. Superficial edits to even your own question will be caught by the community quickly enough.

@RichManson as much as you need to, assuming you don't change the intent of the question
especially after someone answers
I have one specific question that went through roughly 20 revisions

Bob

floof

Grrrr
I am trying to explain how to uninstall the Photos application and realize for whatever reason my ability to do just that is because of StardIsBack..

8:37 AM
"you can't" is a valid answer "You can't but this third party thing lets you to is as well

Yeah
Basically, install this, do that, uninstall this
Only because....its an interesting question :$

Q: Different editing tools in Windows 10 Photos app

IndrekI have Windows 10 on two different computers and recently noticed that the editing tools in the Photos app are different on each. On one computer I have the newer version with a bunch of filters and slider-based editing tools: Whereas the other has the older version with circular editing tool...

Does my answer do a good enough job answering the author's question?

A: Different editing tools in Windows 10 Photos app

Ramhound Both are running the same OS build (14393.726) and app version (16.1118.10000.0) and are fully up-to-date. Is there something that determines which editing tools are used? And how can I get the same version on both (ideally the older version)? Based on the article: New features arrive ...

Sadly I can't reproduce the issue. So I am only 99% sure my suggestion will work :$

9:01 AM
ah
meh, seems reasonable
I wonder if windows store 'just' has an upgrade to the new version

It might but the version I had installed was already the current version
For whatever reason the author says the application is the same build. I suspect it's being pushed to people as of Dec 16.

I noticed that "Delete own post with score of 3 or higher " is a badge
Sounds like deleting your own post is encouraged

the version of what? what if it is parts and pieces of it? like a dll that was locked, and did not update proper ?

Microsoft Photos
what dlls?
UWPs do not have DLL hell syndrome

ahh nice clean stand alone executables , with zero dependencies?

9:08 AM
You want me to explain UWPs?

works with all versions of DXes the same ?

@RichManson - Is it you don't believe us when we say that removing your questions and answers is a bad idea?
@Psycogeek - DX 12 only

Yes that would be nice. But should we make it a question first, so you can get it out to everyone?

No, Its that I am asking why its a badge

Stupid remote computer stop responding for some reason, eek

9:09 AM
What are badges for anyway? Doesn't seam like they mean anything

Correction: DX11 is allowed also with UWP

Badges look like a plastic Sharif badge you get out of a cracker jack box and look at it and go, "Thats nice" and then throw it in the bin

@RichManson vaguely the same idea

Q: UWP and DirectX

KaterinaI have a task: 'Second component must be written in C++ and must be a UWP assembly/component that will be used by the First part of the task. It must be a DirectX component that draws to SwapChain with transparent background. The content must be a 2D animation that must be bound to current mo...

Its something more than imaginary internet points ;)

9:13 AM
more so then the imaginary internet points called reputation :$
UWP = applications contained in a universal container.

Something more than as in 'better' 'greater', more 'usefull'? For what?

You setup the layout, and provided the proper information to scale the UI is there, it can run on any platform based on Windows 10

@RichManson Gold tag badges are very useful :)

@RichManson its gamification. Reputation's your high score, badges are achievements
and gold tag badges let you close things (unilaterally?) in that tag

@JourneymanGeek And reopen where necessary ...

9:16 AM
Just like achievements there are badges that mean something (gold tag badge) and badges that don't do anything.
vs the achievement to shoot all the rubber ducks in a level

Ok, I am not sure I want to put my ungodly expensive Windows 7 Ult on this crappy system since it will be tied to the hardware. I have heard that MS will usually let you do 1 MB upgrade though. Is that still true. I almost want to go find a better build.

In theory OEM editions shouldn't be transferrable

Retail copies of Windows 7 can be transferred more then once.

yeah, but small system builder versions are... strange

Badges are also like certificates/licences - they acknowledge you have a particular skill and are nice to look at. Most certificates are useless in and of themselves.

However, some are useful - like a driving licence - if you don't have one you are not allowed to drive a car and have to pay a big fine and get locked up if you get caught :)

9:22 AM
Reason I say retail, the fact you have an OEM disk, means you have a retail license.
You do realize that your trying to install Windows 7 in order to upgrade the installation to Windows 10, which means, you won't be able to use both the Windows 10 (digital entitlement license you receive) and the Windows 7 (OEM license) right?

@JourneymanGeek That's true. Just came back to me I'm registered as an MS Dev and Authorized Re seller. I should know this crap like the back of my hand

Of course, you can uninstall Windows 10 from the machine, then install Windows 7 without a problem.

@Ramhound I was going to say, I hope this doesn mess up my plan to use the key on partition 1 for Windows 10 upgrade or install and on partition 2 for Windows 7 for dual booting. Early last year I did some work on a friends laptop and cloned his Win7 part. and installed it on a 2nd and upgraded the 2nd partition to Windows 10. Both of them booted fine without MS saying, "you already upgraded to Windows 10 with this PK, you can't use Windows 7 with this PK now.
How does MS really know if you uninstalled one and reinstalled the other and not just on another partition?

When I said you "can't" I mean from the general broad statement that it is against the end user license agreement
Your welcome to violate the EULA if you want.

Oh, Got it, and we know everyone in the world follows those EULA's to the 'T'

9:30 AM
I am just going to tell you, using both the Windows 7 license and Windows 10 license, would violate the EULA. Which might be important if your in a position where an audit could happen.
I personally can't run the risk of having unlicensed machines.

You can't be talking IRS audit. You mean business audit or MS auditing a volume license agreement?

IRS could careless about what software you have installed on your computer.
Anyways: Digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10 Version 1511) is a method of activation in Windows 10 that doesn't require you to enter a product key.

I know. Just clarifying.

Seems like you were asking me a question.
Which I avoided by giving you a non-answer
Anyways: If you’ve never installed and activated Windows 10 on this computer before, you’ll see the activation screen. Enter your Windows 10 key here. If you don’t have one, but you have a valid 7, 8, or 8.1 key, enter it here instead.
Additionally: "The second situation works because of how Windows 10 activates PCs. When you install and activate Windows 10 on a system for the first time, the installer confirms that you have a “genuine Windows” system installed and registers your hardware with Microsoft’s servers."
and: "After that, you shouldn’t have to enter that key again on the same PC–Microsoft will recognize your hardware the next time you install Windows 10 on that machine, confirm it’s registered, and automatically activate itself."
If your license has transfer rights: "The phone support line can give you an activation code that will allow you to activate Windows 10, even if it won’t activate automatically. However, you may have to provide additional information."

I have expect MS to come up with some kind of sniffer snooper sleeper drone software that logs when your machine boots into which OS with which PK and report back to their server to track simultaneous Log-ons

9:39 AM
Don't be rediculous
That software doesn't exist and there is no evidence it exists.
While I understand that website is about piracy it's related to using a single license for multiple installations of Windows.
only in the sense that it's possible technically.

@ram

Dare I response?

much software , including the windows, is all about stealing it , not about using it, so they do allow a person to run "One Instance" of. the problem comes in when there are 100 instances running on 100 different computers that only 1 was paid for.
Dual booting does not run more than one instance of.
If you suspected that your not following the licence agreement and are costing MS money by your method, then you should ask them. or spend 2 hours interpreting the leagese of the EULA

@Psycogeek - I don't disagree

@Ramhound That link about Pirated software was targeting 'Companies' as they called it that sell pirated software.

"A secret shopper may make a purchase from the company that was reported."

It didn't mention people using it on their personal machine.

9:45 AM
Its cheaper for me, to be conservative in that regard, then the alternative.
Who said I am talking about personal machines?

Of course I would call it piracy. I would call using my PK twice on 2 OS's on the same machine as 'Double Duty"
What about running one in a VM? That would be 2 instances at the same time. ..... But I guess still not 100 as in your example.

If Microsoft thought it was worth their money to enforce the their license, "double duty" would violate their license, and they could win in a court of law. I won't argue the legality of EULA since for the majority of court cases, their terms, actually were enforced by the court.
@RichManson - Check the EULA for your version of Windows

@RichManson The licence provides for one instance again, in the section on VMs,

Microsoft changed their stance between Windows 7 and Windows 10 with regards to VMs

I am one of the idiots that actually red a Window EULA all the way through. Don't plan on doing it again. I have better things to do like shoot the shit in this chatroom with you guys. LOL

9:52 AM
.....

if your not costing them money, they have nothing in court to prove you damaged them. I still think for the pittiance they are asking for the OS , if you want both, then just fork over a bit of coin for the other one ?
save any troubles installing and licencing it, and that Time alone is money in your bank

Microsoft has multiple reasons for not taking every case they know about to court.

I don't think much of any piracy ever cost them anything considerable. Apple and Linux Devs make plenty in other areas and MS makes more than both of them combined in all of their other software and hardware markets

It all comes down to, there are to many cases, they would spend millions, to make thousands. Additionally, going after millions of users who skirt the rules, would lose them good will
@RichManson - You clearly do not appear to be a content producer when you say something like that.

@RichManson what ramhound said, after paying for 6000 lazy employees , dealing with the lawyers writing the eulas, the courts, following 56 countries rules for , etc. they probably get a nice 2% profit from it all.
if 3% of the people steal it :-)

9:57 AM
I remember in '97-98 I red a magazine article stating that Gate's income at the height of Windows popularity was 16 billion a year. I would cry myself to sleep knowing that he only made 12 billion a year because so many users were running their software on more than one machine.
And all his children went to be hungry

Spoken from the context of a content consumer not a content producer.

Buy both and license them? Now that is crazy talk. I remember one year my family spent $1200 no Windows and then two years later another version came out and I thought, "No way in hell I going to spend 1200 every time a new version comes out.

Would you cry if Bill Gates only made 11 billion a year? How about 8 billion? How about only $999,999? How about only $350,000. Extreme examples but tell me, what is the level of income lost, that isn't acceptable?
Microsoft hasn't released a new (paid) version of Windows within a 2 year span in years, in both recent examples (8 and 10) they provided the upgrade for free.

i would cry if the whole company didnt make enough money . . . that they output an OS like win10 :-) to get it all back in different methods. . . oh wait :-)

@RichManson his earnings might have been high, but for every ten thousand pirated copies you are putting someone out of a job. Not Gates himself, one of his employees. That could be your brother who desperately needs a job, or a mother needing meds for her child.

10:01 AM
People pirate software. I accept that fact. Just don't try to justify it.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and a Pro version all costing $350. Not looking to spend more at this time. If it ever came to the point I would have to fork over more than $99 for windows I would not have a problem completely switching to Ubuntu or OSX

@RichManson then tripple boot?
:-)

WellI am really trying to say that Canonical and Redhat make tons of money and never charged for their client OS 's

@Ramhound nothing in life is free , you just didnt pay more money for it at this time.

They actually do

10:06 AM
Now lets be honest here. MS hasn't released a version in a two year incriment because they are not open source. period

@RichManson Redhat charge for support contracts, not the OS. There's a difference.

Actually they have
8->8.1->10->feature updates

If MS was truely giving away 2 years worth of labor on an OS, they couldnt explain that strategy to thier investors

All were under 2 years.
Sure they could. They want market share
Anyways

A: Can I transfer a Windows 10 licence to my new PC if it was upgraded from a retail licence?

Ramhound Assuming my Windows 8 license is a retail license this would surely allow me to transfer it between machines? Yes; Here is the EULA for Windows 8 Professional and Windows 8. Can I transfer the software to another computer or user? You may transfer the software to another computer...

I really should improve that answer. oh well

How did this chat gravitate to Piracy when it started about using my LEGAL PK on a dual boot?
@Psycogeek I was planning on triple or quad boot
@Mokubai MS charges for Enterprise supprt also so your comment is mute point

10:12 AM
You wanted me to explain my audit comment

How did this chat gravitate to Piracy when it started about using my LEGAL PK on a dual boot? I think what I am doing is called something else. ...... Oh Yeh 'Double Duty'
@Ramhound Oh yeh that link you ppsted was talking about pirated software I forgot

I said earlier I really don't care. I will just state what your suppose to do. I don't care enough honestly if you "double duty" your license.

I don't even know if Win7 is going to ever install on this machine in UEFI. It seams to have one of the earliest implementations of UEFI It was a board designed in 2011 and purchased by MicroCenter 2013 and I bought it in 2015 on sale. Not the greatest of MB but it has on-board Bluetooth and wifi so I was going to make a media/server or put it in my car in a ITX case.

Are you sure it even has a 64-bit UEFI shell?
Windows 8+ allowed 32-bit UEFI installations. Windows 7 only allowed 64-bit but the majority of Windows 7 era machines were weird.

Q: Possible to install 64-bit Windows on 32-bit UEFI?

AtlanticI recently purchased an HP Stream 7, which I was led to believe would have Windows 8.1 64-bit installed. However, it has 32-bit Windows, even though it has a 64-bit processor. Installing 64-bit has been problematic, and I found the reason is the 32-bit UEFI. Is there a way to change it or replace...

I was reading in a few website forums of people installing Windows 7 in MBR or CSM mode and then switching to UEFI.That would mean I would have to install the Win7 first and then the Win10 but I have tried enabling the 'Windows 8 Compatibility' it wouldn't boot Is there something special I have to read up on and do to switch modes after an install?

@RamhoundI am pretty sure they would not make a MB with a chipset and cpu that supports 64bit and screw the pooch the pooch on the setup software.
Well 2011 was Windows 8.1 era
I mean a system being 64bit and the EFI she being fubar would be maybe not impossible but a rarety
I'll read the answer to that tomorrow. Their is a firmware update to this board but there is some wied thing where you have to have the Trinity CPU to do it, which I have but after you upgrade the BIOS or firmware, the Trinity doesn't work so well for some reason and I would have to buy a Richland and upgrade.
Besides updating the BIOS is much easier on this MB after an OS install than before.
Chow, I'm outy here for a while. Its 5:30am

Never mind. It's still not as good as the built in where. But it was written by dbenham (the John Skeet of batch questions on SE).

> Masonry drill bits are general purpose bits designed for machine and hand held drilling into metal, wood and plastic.
uhhhhhhh

"Masonry"
THAT WORD. IT DOES NOT MEAN WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS!

11:10 AM
@Bob Are they Free Masonry bits? ;p

Bob
> The 17 Piece Combination SDS Masonry Drill Bit and Chisel Set includes 4 masonry drill bits, 3 flat chisels and 2 pointed chisels
4 + 3 + 2 = 17, apparently.
That whole description is screwy :P

Yep. It says "12 x Masonry drills" further down. And "Siuts a wide range of applications"

box says 12 masonry bits
I guess they copypastaed the disruption from another SKU

Bob
> I also bought a cheapie set of titanium-something (I think it translates to 'gold paint' in chinese, but I'm not sure) coated brad point drills from Carbatec.

@Rahul2001 question is, would you want to survive and deal with the aftermath?

I'm sorry, but that question is just stupid
unless you are one of those "voluntary human extinction" people

@Mokubai If I survive, I'd like to help others who are in a worse condition. If I don't, well... That's that.

heh
@Rahul2001 there was this british miniseries about that.
It was grimdark

hm?
