Isn't that what I already did several days ago as I tried to install with the Eindows 7 64bit OEM DVD? :35067925 " 32-bit UEFI implementation can only boot 32-bit firmware and Windows 7 doesn't support 32-bit firmware" I thought with 'Firmware' we was referring to the MB setup firmware. But I guess that was a wrong assumption.4

@Ramhound I still have to download Win10. That will take a while since I dropped to 3Gb connection. On a bright note, It was on my to do list to up my speed back to 15Mb/s again and since Spectrum bought TWC they are offering 50Mb/s for the same price I'm paying now. $30/mo
@Ramhound I also need to research the MB setup or firmware upgrade and see if you really have to upgrade the CPU from Trinity to Richland. Read that after going from BIOS 1.2 to 2.2 Trinity doesn't work as well and Yo have to switch cpu's and when you upgrade past 2.0 you can't downgrade. Never had a MB do screwed up as that. Which is why I may look for a different one.

Since when can the president do that? they really dont have that authority except to recommend such action. all of congress (the lawmakers) would have to fire up something and pass it.
If you have ever seen the american borders , and the flow of Millions of people, daily, working and shopping both sides of the border, you would realise , there is little they can actually do. they wont damage their own economy. They cant build "WALLS" like the wall of china or the berlin wall etc. It is impossible for one thing, and they have complained and participated in tearing down too many others.

@Psycogeek the President can give any order to any Federal official (such as border patrol and customs and immigration officials) that is legal; he can also give them illegal orders, but they can refuse, or the orders he gives can be blocked by the Judicial branch (a judge) or Congress can pass a law saying what he tried to do was illegal

@RichManson well beyond my skill, but what if a bootloader (type of software) was there ? EFI or bios hand-off to the bootloader , then from there to an OS. Would that be a way to workaround the bitness of the OS vrses the efi?
@Psycogeek Ramhound says I probably have a 32bit efi or UEDI system board and to try another 64 bit system with "Windows 8 Compatibility' Enabled but I haven't downloaded win10 yet. I do have some Linux 64bit live dvd's though. That should work just the same shouln't it?
@RichManson I think the point is to try and find out. Things might be easier than you suspect. (but you would have to ask him to clarify) Everyone of us here, would have already bumped our heads against multiple attempts first.
@Psycogeek I think he was trying to explain (if I got this right at this point) , after going round and round since 24 hrs ago and me not understanding what he was saying, was to try another 64bit OS with UEFI 'enabled', which on this MB seams to be 'Windows 8 Compatibility' and if it fails also, it is two indication that point to it being a 32bit firmware (which I assume he means MB setup/UEFI firmware).
I was unaware till about 10 hrs ago that UEFI was 32bit and 64 bit flavors that only booted and installed their respective bit counts as to software. I just assumed it was like MBR and booted and installed both. But, you learn something new every day. Course I havn't messed with UEFI mush yet so its a learning curve.
yes, i got that from your previous convo. As to where to set the uefi/bios, sometimes things work on one setting and not the other in ways that dont make complete sence. But usually your working with a motherboard that some other person(s) has already done the discovery and supplied the info to the web.
@Psycogeek But seeing that this board calls it 'Window 8 Compatibility' kinda sounds like it is the first or earliest implementation like UEFI 1.0 and maybe class 1 which I think may be 32bit only. I am still doing research.
It does have the EFI shell in it though
MSI documentation on this MB is almost non exsistant. Especially the Booting part
One guy contacted MSI support several times and reported back to a forum that their own support does not know what version UEFI is included in the setup

Well, several people in other forums was thinking that 'Windows 8 Compatibility' Enabled was UEFI and Disabled was UEFI-Legacy or MBR emulation or CSM mode which I think are all names for the same thing.

Rayhound says its probably 32bit firmware even in UEFI. I didn't think manufacturers would do that but and from what I have read, I found out it isn't all that uncommon.
how does it get complex? I think , because it is always EFI , even if it will CSM to mbr. but win8 compatability is a 3rd seperate thing in my boards. I dont know enough about it, but it was not legasy, it was future. You would turn it on for 8 and 10.
Yea i forget that stuff, but even though PentII had 64bit instruction going on in it, the motherboards for some time did not know what 64bit even was. not just the bios, but the memory couldnt be addrssed that way . before the memory controller was on the cpu die
Plus they still make tablets and mini laptops that are 32bit (even though the processor might work in 64.) And it already got too complex for me to even say it correct.
What further complicates things it the BIOS (and I use that term loosley since UEFI I think is called firmware) version is 1.2 and there have been several revisions since and for some reason ( I will have to look it up again) some forum and MSI site said to upgrade the BIOS firmware you need a Trinity cpu,which I have.
But if you upgrade to the latest 2 which are 2.0 and 2.4 and after the upgrade, you need the Richland cpu since the Trinity work work as well. And after you upgrade to those BIOS, you can't downgrade even if you switch back to the Trinity. Sounds crazy to me. I have upgraded BIOS many times but never had a MB where it recommended a cpu change. Usually a chipset is designed to work with certain cpu's and that never changed with the board.
@Ramhound @Psycogeek I am going to see if it boots to a 64bit Linux install dvd. That should be the same as Rayhound suggested. I don't see why it need to be another Windows 64bit
yea you need more User info. There have been bios updates that are Specific to a CPU upgrade. you follow the exact steps , to upgrade the bios Prior to putting in the upgraded CPU, and you dont go back without ALSO setting the bios back, and that could be trickey, the Order to insure operation after the change.
As for the reason for the CPU restrictions. There are likely many reasons for the limitation. I attempted to view what MSI published with regards to it but it's not accessable

I have nothing against Linux; I use it daily in about 12 different systems; I just have no desire to help you go down that particular rabbit hole because I know that rabbit when you catch him won't prove what my suggestion will prove.

@RichManson there is another thing that need be mentioned. if you tossed out all the UEFI stuff and the 32bit stuff out of the question, a freeze during that logo can happen from bad cooling, or bad overclock (and related) . it can also happen when a specific driver tried to load. I find it odd that you get that far, and it could somehow be important.
it could happen if your memory isnt timed right. so if changes were made to the hardware , or it WAS already having problems, that was not mentioned.

@Psycogeek Temp I remenber was arounf 40-40c and was not oc'd. I don't see a reason to OC a MB bfore installing an OS. Driver issue is possible. I mention in the on Question post that I tried Safe mode and the files would load and then all of a sudden just stop. I never changed timing but will check into it. AMD boards are more forging with memory timing and voltages than Intel. I forget how much.

well in theory you can use the checksum algorithm to test if any given 16 digit number passes. that said the number generated may or may not be attached to a live card, plus you are missing the expiry date etc

However, the other option would be a gas-powered shower heater and once I nearly died of kitchen gas poisoning.

It might be in fact even way cheaper than the eletric shower. It's by far the worst "villain" of high electric bills.
With the air conditioner a 2n place winner. It caused my January eletric bill to be 3.2x higher.
