I know that they are different models and that make the comparison a little tricky, but I'm asking about an overall performance evaluation. Notice the diff at CPU clock, 1.7 vs 2.6

@Bob imagine this: Spaceplane. Mk 2 cockpit with 3 Kerbals. Attached to two orange soda cans (the Rockomax jumbo fuel tanks). Spaceplane Plus mod providing more wings with more flexibility, so I built three pairs of wings totaling 24 lift, plus 7.2 lift of elevons (like ailerons) on the wings, plus a tail with rudders for another 4 lift, plus an elevator for 1 lift. 8 pair of 2-tire landing gear. science lab on the end. various instruments on top.

configured with three Rapier engines with ramjets above AND below each middle wing of the 3 pairs. total 12 Rapier engines mounted on the wings. on the back, I have a mainsail liquid engine.

it's fairly aerodynamic and controllable in Kerbin's atmosphere; it's not GREAT, but the pitch is super easy to control, and it can get enough air speed to maintain level flight at a fairly high altitude without making the rapiers burn oxidizer.

long trip to Laythe on the mainsail. Hohmann transfer etc. Start to try and fly it around in Laythe's atmosphere, and... WTF?!?! it keeps pitching end over end! tried various things: air-breathing engines the problem? closing the intakes to reduce drag? running only on the rapiers? how about only the mainsail?

had an enormous amount of difficulty trying not to crash in the water, and to just control the plane, even with Vernor engines for RCS, and SAS enabled. the plane kept wanting to flip over and spin out of control. whatever fluid forms Laythe's atmosphere is either ridiculously thick or I'm just doing it wrong...

landing was hopeless so I did a bunch of science over the waters of Laythe and came back to Kerbin... not nearly as fruitful as I had hoped; I wanted a surface sample >_< then I tried to land it on Kerbin like a rocket and it exploded, so then I tried landing it like an airplane and it worked... landed on the grass (because screw runways) and applied the gear brakes.

This is weird. Today I opened an excel file with LibreOffice. Suddenly I saw the mouse changed color, and stuck to it was a message in Arabic, which changed every second in a loop. I can actually read Arabic so I immediately recognized it as Islamic messages praising Allah (including the Takbir)...
