2:43 AM
Yayz!

3:04 AM
@Undo You... got it?

Yup :D

Swag arrived :D
Oh, I see I'm late.

3:28 AM
I just typed an entire answer out on mobile O_o

@Seth mod swag?

@Undo yeh
@ManishEarth stickers are awesome. You can put them on the back of your laptop and be a super showoff :P

@Seth Yeah! Currently my laptop has a SO, SE, Phy.SE sticker (SO and Phy.SE on the inside), a Mozilla Firefox sticker, and a Wolfram|Alpha one that I got from Wolfram himself. I also have a Thunderbird sticker and some Mozilla stickers that I need to find space for :P

I'm kinda upset with what happened at Mozilla recently though.. Is heard people talk about uninstalling Firefox because of it.

@Seth Most of us Mozillians hate how it played out

3:35 AM
I heard *

Funny, because the Mozilla Corporation doesn't really control Firefox that much. Or at all.

@ManishEarth That's awesome!
@ManishEarth Yeah..

The Mozilla Corporation allocates funding to ReMo and pays employees and does sales for Firefox OS, but Firefox itself is controlled by the community. A lot of employees in the list of folks whose opinion is highly respected for this, but it's not like his becoming CEO would affect Firefox.

The media doesn't help with that though.

yeah

2:19 PM
@Undo Why did I not get notified??? :P
@hichris123 Let's build one!!! :D
Charcoal-Apollo Mission 0b1011
I'll provide the code if you provide the rocket and all the equipment!

3:03 PM
@Seth Any idea why this CSS isn't working?
#logo span:hover {
color:#275b27;
}

Because it doesn't like you?

:P
Screenshot of what happens in bootstrap:
See the left corner of it? It's weird.

Did ya try !important? Sometimes you need to override the oottrap.
Bootstrap*

@Seth Yes...
It's weird it goes away when I change the zoom at all and then change it back to normal zoom but when I refresh it at any zoom %, it comes back.
@hichris123 So are you going to take me up on my offer? (I'll provide the code if you provide the rocket and all the equipment!) :P

@AnnonomusPerson I don't have a rocket!

3:09 PM
@hichris123 Build one! Make a Glass app for building rockets! :D

It says "JonnyW" 18 times
That's a long error
@hichris123 did you try redownloading it?

@AnnonomusPerson Yeah.

@Seth around?
I need to find out how to setup an SSH server on Ubuntu.
And be able to connect to it.

3:23 PM
Use PUTTY for SSHing and there probably is some setting built into the OS for a SSH server
There is for Debian... I use it on RPi.
@hichris ^

Try apt-cache search openssh-server
That's what I have on debian I think

@AnnonomusPerson Yeah... though how do I generate the key and such?

That ^ :D

3:26 PM
I like that link
Lol I spoofed the user agent of Chrome to CHROME and Google displayed me a different page
(Bare HTML.... ahh the good old 2006 days)

Any of you good with HTML/CSS?

Decent, why?

When the checkbox at the top is checked, there shouldn't be empty areas left
It currently just sets the display for the greyed out lines to none
Chrome leaves everything in their original locations
IE hides the empty area at the top but leaves the rest of the empty areas..

I have an idea... are they nested within a div or span?
Like multiple of those? If so, you need to hide the parent of all of them, that's what I would try first.
One minute, looking at code

The messages are <div><a></a><span></span></div>
and they're all inside a div

3:37 PM
If it wasn't so big I'd recommend a table and see if that works...

yeah well

I found something that kinda works....
When you delete your whole CSS section, it works except when you retick the checkbox...

This is the largest one (Warning: it might freeze your browser)

I've displayed a million digits of pi on this computer... I think it can handle that :P

Yeah, I'm sure the computer can handle it

3:41 PM
haha :D

I have a pretty good gaming PC but the browser still has issues with huge pages

So it's something directly in the CSS
@3ventic Slow internet? Low RAM?
I'm the opposite
(Although my PC is underclocked until I buy an Evo)

12GB RAM, ~20Mbps download

amd phenom II X6 @ 3.01 GHz

3:43 PM
8GB 1800 mhz (IIRC), 6 core 3.3/3.9 ghz AMD Bulldozer

@hichris123 apt-get install ssh . done.

With a Radeon HD.... uhh what was it? 7580???
Something like that. I don't play many games :D
But that's besides the point @3ventic

NVIDIA GTX 780 :p
still hasn't opened the page for me :|

@3ventic 8x performance, infinate more expensive (friend got rid of it)

Yeah well

3:45 PM
:P

it was time to upgrade and I had 400€ to spend

So did you see my comment about the CSS deletion?

yup
which CSS did you mean btw?

g2g bye everyone

aw

3:46 PM
@3ventic All of it
(In the style tags)

oh, okay

rotfl
Yeah that's my first instinct when something goes wrong... delete the CSS.

loading though

80% of the time it works fine

@3ventic Hm, hasn't hanged my computer yet
I'm on 4GB/E1 Vision AMD.
loaded
no lag

3:47 PM
My chrome dies if I try to scroll before it has loaded completely

It's cos you're using Chrome
I'm using a much better browser

which is?

lynx
:P

does it do JS?

nope :P

3:49 PM
that's probably why
I need to optimize the js anyway

@3ventic you clearly don't know what Lynx is

text browser

One sec, I'll get a screenshot. Will have to reopen

I know.

ah :)

3:50 PM
haven't used myself though

quite useful

4:14 PM
@hichris123 sudo apt-get install openssh-server
that's about it.
You might need to tweak the config a little, but it'll work out of the box.
You going to do X forwarding?
Or do you need help setting the server up before you're ready to do that?
@ManishEarth Same in Ubuntu actually.. Takes some getting used to :P
@AnnonomusPerson It's probably not a problem with the CSS as much as it's a problem with your browser's rendering. Can you reproduce it across browsers?

@Seth Yes exactly the same in FF.
Haven't tried IE, nor do I want to.
The only reason IE is still on my computer is for testing my code
:D

Huh.

4:30 PM
@AnnonomusPerson Firefox? Bleh. Chrome + IE!

@hichris123 Noooooo IE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I know someone who's school only installs IE on the computers but ironically none of their web software works on IE :P
@hichris How do you like IE and code with any CSS?
:P

@AnnonomusPerson ... I use Chrome for all my dev work. :P

@hichris123 Why don't you use it for everything?

I like IE? :P

Gasp

Q: Add a link to "SE/Recommendations" to the "off-topic" close reason

Kerrek SBOne of our current close reasons is "off topic, asking us to recommend or find a tool, library or favorite off-site resource". However, we now have a dedicated Stack Exchange site for Software Recommendations, and I often find that questions that we close on Stack Overflow may very well be perfec...

A: Changed response to "Recommendation questions"?

UndoSoftware Recs participant here. I really don't know if we should do this. Sure, it'll get us a ton of traffic. But do we want that traffic? By the very nature of the site itself, we're not going to be starving of users. Another thing to consider: SR isn't (and shouldn't be) a 'no-rules shopping...

@Undo needs to update that ^
Yay password hashing machinethingy works!
(Sorry, first website) :)
@hichris123 11 what?

Q: Free newsletter software for a small business?

Anastasios VentourisI am looking for free software that has the following features: Send mass mails Organize subscription lists Use HTML (with or without templates) Analytics Schedule e-mails For instance, MailChimp is an online web service which has these features, but it is not free.

Wow the OP says they don't want to use [xyz software] but then the accepted answer suggests using that.

7:04 PM
@Undo Your hat looks cool.

yay hats! :D

Where did you get it? I know you said that they were going to give out hats to all mods, even pro team ones, but I never got a link.
Or was that just on SR?
@Undo Did I miss a link on TL or something or am I not entitled to a hat or stickers? Or is that from the SO mod thing still?
Checks three inboxes: on email one mod one SE

@AnnonomusPerson ping someone in TL for the link.
that's what I did.

Okay! I'll tell the other mods on my site thanks!

Currently in commitment.

oooh a51 got a new top bar

Yeah.
Okay, I'm going to have to post a meta question on this.

@hichris123 Know anything about Ukranian?

8:30 PM
It's... annoying.
@Undo No?

I know about the Crimea, but that's about it..
> still being decided. It needs:
57 more followers
40 more questions with a score of 10 or more

to move to the next phase.
@Undo Does it have my name on it?

@hichris123 of course.

Holy crap

8:43 PM
Yeah.

That would be a full time job running all of those.
