Hiya photo!

Gah bad reviewer.

@AnnonomusPerson ... on what?

1 hour ago, by hichris123
Well, actually I caught the offending editor here: http://stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/4432819#./4432819?&_suid=1395863‌875031037342822176947515

Ah, that.
@Undo Come hither!

9:24 PM
How come is it turning on my webcam in the middle?

@AnnonomusPerson I didn't hack you... :P

On the google thing

That's what that icon is!

I... dunno why it needs the webcam.

9:25 PM
I am back

And there's a mic for recoding.
@Undo Awwwh.

Makes Undo answer a question of mine
11 hours ago, by hichris123
@Undo I have a UI question: you know how I have that landing page for Instagram? Should I have another page to redirect the user to, change the content when the button is pressed, or simply have the login username and password boxes on the first screen?

hmmm
reads question
IMO put the login fields on the main screen if login is required for the use of the thing.

9:28 PM
ooooooh a flag

@Undo What's a flag? I never get them :P

@AnnonomusPerson They're neat little things that mere mortals use to irritate us.

Or I could do something like this:

@Undo Ahh. Do you use flags @hichris?

Or something like that.

9:29 PM
meh, you could

@AnnonomusPerson Nope. Not at all. :P

@hichris123 Well you are a mere mortal :P

@Undo Bad option, then?
reviews close votes

@hichris123 I dunno

9:30 PM
@Undo Nah. Too lazy to sign up for a SRecs account

;(
well it's gone now :P

@Undo Oh, did I tell you InstaGlass posts a picture (kinda sorta, via a web URL and only one picture/photo)?
@Undo Flagged it! :D

I saw that in the transcript, yeah
@hichris123 uhm... how?

@Undo Before you deleted it.

@Undo You have more rep on Windows Phone than on Arduino.

9:31 PM
looks at timeline
@AnnonomusPerson wait what?
I have a WP account? :O

@Undo Yep

You flagged one second before I nuked it, @hichris123 :D

rofl, really?

yeah
or so says the timeline

That was a quick turnaround. :P

9:33 PM
Should do something good to our flag handling time >:D

@Undo rotfl
@Undo So will @HiChris get a helpful flag because you acted on it without reviewing the flag directly?

@AnnonomusPerson Yeah
Nuking a post marks all non Other flags as helpful.

yup

Just touched some code that bids in online auctions automatically - one of the most dangerous things I've ever done :P

9:41 PM
@Undo Have you ever messed with a mod before being a mod?
Now that is dangerous.

true

:P
Waves hammer in air.

Let's see... I angered all the SF mods, at least.
well maybe 90% of them

@Undo ... only one, right?

@hichris123 no, several of them.

@Undo With a bullet? It won't stop until it hits something?
(Depends on who you're shoplifting, too. A bank... eeks!)

yeah

@Undo When? We only got that one sysadmin mad for comment flagging...

Listens closely for story
Gets bored and leaves for snack

in The Comms Room, Dec 30 '13 at 2:36, by Michael Hampton
Believe it or not, I have things to do that don't involve Server Fault. Just flag the comments and someone will get to them as soon as it's practical.

Comes back after deciding not to have a snack

@hichris123 oh, this was almost a year ago.
Pre-charcoal

9:52 PM
So why are they mad at you @Undo

meh, no reason to beat a dead horse.
I think they forgot, anyway, so I don't want to remind them.

I would say "let's go into TL" but that'd defeat the purpose! :P They're mods, too.

Blaze is eating up all of my flags. Is that a good or a bad thing?

good

9:55 PM
Why is there no space between them?

@AnnonomusPerson because it looks better than way?

@Undo I mean how.

oh
dunno

Looking at the code... noting special.
FLAG!

9:57 PM
@Undo Gosh they were jerks.

eh?

what, did you find it?

Yeah.

Go back a year in Comms room chat transcripts? I feel sorry for you :P

9:58 PM
@Undo Nah, search. :D

oh
:P

@Undo technically you could link it and then purge it :P
Curious

nah
don't wanna dig it up

I'm even wondering what it was @Undo. The message was deleted.

@hichris123 History on it?

10:01 PM
sigh

Found out how to do it!
-1 margins on facing sides and destroy the border radius with CSS

@Undo So... easiest way to use a form input in PHP is to POST the response to another file, and do stuff with it there?

I think so, yeah

@hichris123 Yeah you might want to do some AJAX so it doesn't refresh...
letme dig up a link
There we go!

@AnnonomusPerson Hmm... it needs to redirect after the successful login. Still use AJAX?

10:04 PM
@hichris123 That's easy with PHP.
Wait... hmm javascript might work to do that. Let me look it up.
The only benefit is for wrong passwords.

Q: PHP redirect AFTER sending headers?

Anonymous12345I have a function which needs to redirect the page if a variable is set etc... The problem is, this function is at the bottom of the php page. This means, I have outputted alot of information, so I get a headers warning. "Warning - Headers already sent by ..." Is there any way to redirect aft...

That might help you :)
IDK if you should put it in your main file @HiChris or form submit one...

k, give me a minute or two.

Tick, tock :D

makes $25 looking over someone's code

@Undo Lucky
How much code?

meh, a few hundred lines

10:15 PM
So like 10 minutes?

half an hour, more like
complicated code :P

Still, that's $50 an hour. McDonalds pays like $4
(Well more like $8 I'd imagine)

@Undo regularly or occasionally ?
Hello btw

@HamZa regularly-ish.
and hi ;)

Great job, especially for your age.
I'm working parttime at a DIY shop and I get only ~7,5euro per hour

10:20 PM
(~$10 USD)

money doesn't really matter to me :P
The guy gives me awesome stuff to work on, and he refuses to not pay me.

Oh it's one person? That makes more sense.

yeah

hehehe nice

Hmm... and Charcoal isn't interesting? :P

10:22 PM
Well charcoal is kinda dead right now :P

Kinda.... but there are related projects.
We should rename it to RIP Charcoal... (Previous HQ)

I split time pretty evenly

The good things about my job is:
- I learned a lot about fixing/building stuff in the house (think about painting, using certain machines etc...)
- I can stay away from my computer once in a while: I'm the whole day using my computer, so working the night or the weekend is a good oppurtinity to stay away from it

@hichris123 just put one in :-P

10:25 PM
@HamZa You want to stay away from the computer? Gasp :P

@AnnonomusPerson it's unhealthy ... I use the computer at school, when I get home and the night

@Undo Yeah. Totally.
@HamZa IK :P

@Seth Doesn't work... :(

@hichris123 Two line breaks?

Code?
Two is sometimes necessary.

10:27 PM

@Seth If you're using PHP, it kinda depends on the kind of day it is for your server :)

^^ What it looks like with one <br>
  <form action="instagramlogin.php" method="post">
    <p class="input-group">
      <span class="input-group-addon">@</span>
      <input type="text" name="username" class="form-control input-lg"/>
      <span class="input-group-addon">@</span>
      <input type="text" name="password" class="form-control input-lg"/>
      <p><a class="btn btn-success btn-lg" role="button" type="submit">Let's get started!</a></p>
    </p>
  </form>

Do two different input-groups

^ Code
@AnnonomusPerson Duh. :P

@hichris123 :P

10:28 PM
And... yeah, that works.

The sweet taste of... success?

@hichris123 why are you using p instead of div ?

/me stuck on a tablet

@HamZa IDK bootstrap does some things weird.
Ahh typo sorry.

Also, <br /> ahem

10:29 PM
hehehe

hehe haha

@Seth What's the difference?

sigh
10507 decbin = 10100100001011. issent 01010 ^ 11011 = 10011? — Michael 11 mins ago

@hichris123 Self closing tag.
I think it's for browsers that aren't that powerful and freak out w/ out a closing tag.

The second is better :-P

<br /> may be valid XML, while <br> may not.
XHTML is preferable because you can push it thru an XML parser in case you need it.

XHTML is old. Although I still always close my break tags.
/me is going to try to switch to a real computer.

@Seth With XHTML I mean HTML 5 written in XML style.

10:34 PM
@HamZa But I want that little tickmark! :(

How me design look?
(Besides the poor cropping issues of the screenshot)

@TimWolla Yeah but judging from the question and it's quality, you can sense if the OP has a minimal understanding. Otherwise, you will need to prepare your facepalms

(And the missing login button :D)

@AnnonomusPerson Remove the break between the checkbox and the label
@HamZa Always prepared, I am browsing [tag:php]

mwahahaha
Seriously, I gave up on tag:php. Whenever I browse it, I tend to ragequit

10:37 PM
@AnnonomusPerson Looks good, but what is that checkmark? It looks kinda weird.

@HamZa Unfortunatly PHP is the language I know best. I tend to prefer JavaScript the last time, but the questions there are as bad as in PHP.

^^

Or they are JavaScript+AJAX+PHP

/Same here, I know php the best although I also rock in regex :)
unfortunately most regex questions are of the type "gime ze codez"

I am good in many things.
Greatest exception probably is .NET
I have not a single idea how .NET works.

10:39 PM
I am bad at everything coding related :(

@Seth people like you tend to be better than they claim :P

checking your profile
I am using Ubuntu longer than you! :-P

I answered one of your questions :P
What version did you start at btw?

@Seth I know ;)

Oh I hate ubuntu since they introduced that side-bar, unity was it ?

10:43 PM
If I remember correctly I started with Jaunty.

Yep. I like Unity.
But you don't have to use it.

I use Unity as well.

There's Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, and a bunch of other DEs that you can install.

Basically I dropped ubuntu and went to lubuntu. Still searching for a better OS.
Oh and now using windows because everything at school is meant for windows

Lubuntu == Ubuntu with a different DE.

10:45 PM
I know

oh, ok

I wonder how 14.04 will become.
Probably bad again, the april releases are always bad :(

become? 12.04 wasn't bad iirc.

@TimWolla Let's just hope it doesn't have a win8 interface :)

become = be like

10:46 PM
no real "big" changes coming in 14.04 that I can recall.

Will my 32-bit machine be able to run 14.04 server, @Seth?

They tend to break everything in the April releases.
@Undo I'm pretty sure you have a 64-bit CPU
@HamZa Oh, I do like the interface.

@TimWolla not on my closet-server

I am using Windows 8 for Steam.

I'm using win7 with the theme service disabled. Everyone looking at my screen thinks I'm using win98 hehehe

10:49 PM
Definitly not Windows 98.
The task bar is way to large
Also: Opera. Probably the worst browser from a web designer's perspective.

oh it became worse. I'm just stuck to it since I can't really find an alternative:
1- I hate IE
2- I avoid using chrome
3- Firefox is cool, I use it for dev
4- I'm using it for anything not dev related (browsing SO etc...)
I liked Opera since it had the feature of merging tabs into a group since I've got a lot of tabs open
The new Opera has completely changed and removed this feature. It's now also using the chrome engine

:( I am out of Flags, out of votes, I almost reached my rep cap and already reviewed 20 Suggested edits.
Only the Close Vote and Reopen queue left.

@Undo should, yeah.
Why?

just wondering
I want to see how long I can keep that old laptop alive :P

Opera 12 is slow, but feature packed. Opera Next is fast, but feature less D:
@Undo Non 64-bit is old

10:56 PM
hmrph

Need help. How can I change a body: inline block; in a CDN'd CSS file to nothing? Can't do inherit...

i-386 == 32-bit, right?

typo, excuse me.

I think they screwed Opera, I mean they even removed the bookmark option which every browser has
@Undo right

@hichris123 inline block?
inline and block are opposites :S

10:58 PM
@Seth ... that's what it is.

Full rule?

.fa {
  display: inline-block;
  font-family: FontAwesome;
  font-style: normal;
  font-weight: normal;
  line-height: 1;
  -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
  -moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale;
}

@hichris123 what do you mean to nothing ?

@hichris Your password field is incorrectly set up.
No little bullet point dot things.

@AnnonomusPerson How so?
@AnnonomusPerson Oh, I'll fix that...
@HamZa Just as if the style rule wasn't there.

11:00 PM
What does HTML use as default again?

@hichris123 Oh you mean you can't change the CSS file since it's served on another server you don't control ?

@Seth Huh?

@Seth inline or block, depends on the tag

@HamZa Pretty much.

Just use body { display: whatEverTheDefaultIs !important; }

11:01 PM
@Seth Hmm... how do I find the default?

@hichris123 use block

@hichris123 Looks like I'll leave the below 10k club tomorrow

@hichris123 Depends. Overriding body isn't exactly a good idea.

@TimWolla such rep farmer :P

Aha! Got it. :D

11:03 PM
@HamZa All my answers are high quality!

You'll have to set each element after it to whatever their default (if it isn't block) is to set things straight.

.fa{
    body: table-cell !important;
}

@TimWolla let me check :P
@TimWolla Oh wait, you reached rep cap. So it would be a waste if I voted up

@HamZa No, I have 2 votes left.
I got 4 accepted answers today.

nice

Q: I need to fix this query

user3453349I need do somthing as this query "SELECT t1.Paiement_Id,t1.pp,t1.Date_Transaction, t1_t2.Outlet,t1_t2.ddate,t2_t2.Network ,(SELECT SUM(t2_t2.Montant) FROM chargeback t1 INNER JOIN transaction t1_t2 ON t1_t2.Paiement_Id = t1.id INNER JOIN transaction t2_t2 ON t2_t2.pp = t1_t2.pp GROUP BY t1_t2...

hits edit
Formatting is crap even in markdown view.

@TimWolla E_FRENCH

sigh I don't have any downvotes left :(

@hichris123 Excelente.
How'd you set the background as an image?

@Seth html { background: url(static/images/sunrise.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;

11:10 PM
@hichris123 smells phish ing

@hichris123 that's it?

This is the whole of it:
html {
  background: url(static/images/sunrise.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
  -webkit-background-size: cover;
  -moz-background-size: cover;
  -o-background-size: cover;
  background-size: cover;
  font-weight: bold;
}
@TimWolla Do I need a disclaimer? :P

@hichris123 Also consider adding some placeholder text in the text fields.

Sounds good.

@hichris123 I am not going to use it anyway.

11:14 PM

@hichris123 background-size: cover; is awesome :)
