Q: How to implement Face Recognition in Java using images?

user1690870please tell me how to compare two face images whether they belong to same person or not. let I explain::: the code will get two images as input and recognize it and compare them. If it belongs to same person (even though takes at different time) it will return true or else false. like this... ...

frigging so many epic answers o0

Right? :D

@Bob o0 uhm in what way will it be shitty ;p ?
like wifi range ...

Bob
@Gowtham not very powerful
I had a lot of trouble with a weak router crapping out when I was searching for game servers
the mass ping and reply overflowed the NAT tables several times over
happened somewhat often with other uses, too
(of course, that was also an old router)

My current router can't handle torrents unless I use PPoE
@Bob I am not going to host any game servers ;p

Bob
3:20 PM
@Gowtham not host
searching for
i.e. attempting to list all servers

ah, I geddit

Bob
@Gowtham torrents are another one
PPoE?
o.o

Put router in bridged PPoE mode and then dial from windows ?

torrents tend to do unspeakable things to routers

Bob
3:22 PM
@Gowtham Do you mean PPPoE?
Also, that's got nothing to do with the router.

aye

Bob
In that case, you are bypassing the router entirely and communicating purely via the modem.
@JourneymanGeek my new one seems to hold up pretty well :P

lol
got a DD-WRT
same router would keel over with stock firmware

Bob
I'm actually considering going back to stock
dd-wrt is a bit buggy with the wifi
@JourneymanGeek don't want to use another pen right now, so swab tests on green!

I've got a wrt54G, only issue I have is the dead zone
XD
I wish school would start ;p

3:26 PM
So well uhm suggest a good and cheap one :P :P
40$ tops ;p

Bob
eh
find one with more RAM
not sure how much that one actually has

I don't think low end routers list the ram the device has ;p
My current router has 64k ram -_-

Bob
few do
third party sources for info
dd-wrt's compatibility list has some
same with openwrt's wiki
couple other sites

Wow, that question is a mess.

Q: How to find my computer's IP Address?

Cengiz FrostclawI'm a total noob about TCP/IP, now reading some document (Sams Teach Yourself TCP/IP in 24 hours). However, I still don't get some concepts. First of all, when I type "what's my ip address" in Google, it shows an address starting with 88.225 something, cool, but when I make this search from anot...

How does one tell this user what they need?

hmm apparently the one I linked has 32MB of RAM
How much RAM should I look for ?

Bob
3:32 PM
shrug
I have 128, but that cost about $100
TP-LINK, the other brands would have been at least double
also, the SoC power can be a factor

It's 2 MB not 32 MB -_-
@Bob ok

Bob
@Gowtham That's like my old one! :P
Where did you find that?
Also, keep in mind that flash and RAM are different
flash is useful if you want custom firmware (they sometimes have minimum requirements)
RAM is useful for larger NAT tables (many connections, e.g. listing game servers and torrenting)
@JourneymanGeek it's a decent green

@Bob ok
My current router sucks so bad that I can't telnet into it when I am connected to the internet

Bob
@Gowtham that just says "?"

It wasn't like this a year ago
> This device most likely uses a Ralink wireless chip.. perhaps RT3090. The device pictured in the FCC photos appears to use a 32MB EtronTech EM63A165TS-6G RAM chip.

Bob
3:35 PM
@Gowtham why do you even need that? o.o

@Bob I was merely telling you that my router is dying
@Bob found a comment someplace
can't find the site
Are Asus routers good ?

Bob
like always, some models

Bob is way to polite.
I would just have asked 'Are petrol cars any good'

bleh, he remarked that TP-LINK routers sucked, that's why I asked
:P

Bob
3:39 PM
@Gowtham no I didn't
I said I'm using a TP-LINK

lol

@slhck almost used this as part of my answer ;p pastebin.com/1xBBJB4a

TP-LINK, the other brands would have been at least double
I misinterpreted that :D

lol
The non random hungarian seems to like em

3:41 PM
You didn't mention double what :P :P I assumed it was ram

I just used an LInksys WRT 54GL (notice the L, you either want a GL or a version 4) and a Linksys WRT-160N. Both seem to 'just work'
Keep them up for a year, try torrents for a week. Nothing kills them.

lol
yup
I have the former
reliable as hell

Bob
@JourneymanGeek got some decent greens
shitty lighting and camera. second photo with flash.

the second one looks awesome

Bob
4:36 PM
@JourneymanGeek heh. approx 2:1 ratio
you should mix your own inks sometime :P

@OliverSalzburg the phone is, however, far more receptive to external aid
In most industrialised nations, advances in employee relations have seen the introduction of statutory minimum tariffs for employee leave from work, i.e. the amount of entitlement to paid holiday/vacation. Several companies will offer contractually more time, depending on the sector. Companies and the law may also differ as to whether national holidays are counted as part of the minimum leave. Disparities in national minimums are still subject of debate regarding Work-life balance and perceived differences between nations. These numbers usually refer to full time employment, part time wo...

I'm overclocking the GPU in my laptop to try to squeeze as much performance out of it as possible
Mobility Radeon HD 5650, stock 550 MHz shader 800 MHz memory

@DragonLord How will you deal with heat?

System temps were within limits during testing.
The GPU temp did not go up more than about 5 C.

6:16 PM
@DragonLord You are using your laptop to play games?

Minor artifacts visible from 990 MHz memory, video driver crashes from about 760 MHz shader
@Boris_yo, yes

@DragonLord I used mine for gaming until it became slow...

Can I expect the system to be stable at 720/950 MHz? (Testing was performed using MSI Kombustor, stress test running while adjusting clocks.)

@DragonLord Why not put it on stress test and find out?
You are trying to find the optimal spot between performance and safety?

Yes.
How much should I distance myself from the hardware limits established during testing?
The GPU never exceeded 70 C during testing.
@Boris_yo?
At 720/950 MHz shader/memory clocks, I'm getting about 20% higher performance than at the stock 550/800 clocks.
Folding@home will be my practical stress test. I'm doing GPU folding, and if it fails with EARLY_UNIT_END errors, I'll dial the clocks back.

6:43 PM
And how much reduction in hardware lifespan should I expect? (The motherboard, where the GPU resides, was last replaced in January for an unrelated issue.)
@Boris_yo, are you around?

i would assume that, since it's not heating up very much, the lifespan wouldn't be shortened
(but i don't know for sure)

@tapped-out: Given that the GPU visibly starts to malfunction under stress test at 760/990 MHz shader/memory, would 720/950 be safe?
This is the first time I've done any serious overclocking, and I'm wondering if any long-term issues are to be expected.
I once tried to overclock my old desktop's GPU a long time ago, but without much success as it is factory-overclocked. This time around, I expect to keep these clock rates on my laptop, but only if I can confirm the system will remain stable under load.

standard disclaimer applies, you can't sue me if it melts down :P but i think that should be okay

Anyone else with experience overclocking GPUs?

@DragonLord not the most recent ones.. i did o/c my notebook 8600m GT thou :P

6:57 PM
I'm measuring an increase of 3-4 watts in power consumption under load through a Kill a Watt meter.
CPU temps hit 75C and GPU temps hit 70C under full load--is this okay?
(The hard temperature limit is about 90C.)

yeah that's fine
anything under 85 & no artifacts, you're good
took 'em long but finally got their head outta the sand

For reference, artifacts appear in MSI Kombustor when the memory is pushed to around 990 MHz and become prominent at 1000 MHz.
The memory is set to 950 MHz right now.
I'll be watching the Folding@home logs very closely to make sure that these are stable clocks.

have you run furmark?

I've been using MSI Kombustor (included with MSI Afterburner to evaluate performance and stability as I adjust the clocks, which stresses the GPU in a similar manner. I do have FurMark, but I've decided to try something else.
For actually setting the clock rate, I use the AMD GPU Clock Tool.
@Sathya?
Nutshell: Stress testing finds that GPU starts to malfunction at shader/memory clock rates near 760/990 MHz. Is 720/950 MHz safe?

7:15 PM
@DragonLord sorry got distracted with some work
there's really no one set of frequency which is "safe"
what's safe to you, might not be handled by me, because of thermal / ambient / yield conditions

@Sathya: Any guidelines on how much distance I should maintain from these limit clocks?

~50Mhz +/- for core, ~100Mhz for memory is what I'd say

@tapped-out I don't use Twitter at all. What for anyway?

@Boris_yo huh? what to use Twitter for?

8:50 PM
@tapped-out Yeah I don't see the point of using it. Personally? No, but for business promotions, why not.
