the mass ping and reply overflowed the NAT tables several times over

Also, keep in mind that flash and RAM are different

flash is useful if you want custom firmware (they sometimes have minimum requirements)

RAM is useful for larger NAT tables (many connections, e.g. listing game servers and torrenting)

I just used an LInksys WRT 54GL (notice the L, you either want a GL or a version 4) and a Linksys WRT-160N. Both seem to 'just work'

Keep them up for a year, try torrents for a week. Nothing kills them.

Folding@home will be my practical stress test. I'm doing GPU folding, and if it fails with EARLY_UNIT_END errors, I'll dial the clocks back.

This is the first time I've done any serious overclocking, and I'm wondering if any long-term issues are to be expected.

I once tried to overclock my old desktop's GPU a long time ago, but without much success as it is factory-overclocked. This time around, I expect to keep these clock rates on my laptop, but only if I can confirm the system will remain stable under load.

I'm measuring an increase of 3-4 watts in power consumption under load through a Kill a Watt meter.

CPU temps hit 75C and GPU temps hit 70C under full load--is this okay?

(The hard temperature limit is about 90C.)

For reference, artifacts appear in MSI Kombustor when the memory is pushed to around 990 MHz and become prominent at 1000 MHz.

The memory is set to 950 MHz right now.

I'll be watching the Folding@home logs very closely to make sure that these are stable clocks.

I've been using MSI Kombustor (included with MSI Afterburner to evaluate performance and stability as I adjust the clocks, which stresses the GPU in a similar manner. I do have FurMark, but I've decided to try something else.

For actually setting the clock rate, I use the AMD GPU Clock Tool.
