You're welcome. Unfortunately, the back-translation project backfired. A SE employee came through with a chain saw 6 hours ago with arbitrary deletions. Unless that employee is fluent in Spanish -- I don't see how they could have done that without the help of the back-translations.

I wish the deletions hadn't been so arbitrary and silent, and I wish the comments below the question hadn't been wiped out too. That was especially creepy.

Hmm, I don't think mine was particular offensive. While sudársela isn't exactly polite speech, it's also not inflammatory either. The idea in translation goes beyond just translating literal words, but also ideas and styles, and a good translator has to understand the correct ways to render concepts expressed through particular rheotical strategies that might not be evident or well known in the target language. That, of course, necessarily requires reference to the context of the original

When I wrote, "could you spell out what you're getting at, please?" I meant "what exactly would you advise me to do at this point". I was about to submit that when the axe fell. I now think that "could you spell out what you're getting at" wasn't as clear as it should have been.

aparente001: it is not the custom on Spanish.SE to autodelete things like that. It definitely should have been given a warning. I edited mine but they haven't bothered handling the flag (surprise surprise)
