@TRiG Fedora is for people who like to live on the edge. It is supported for only 12 months (well... two releases, but they like to release every 6 months). So you should be prepared to update once/year if you like to stay with a supported version.

Example 2: Debian provides Microsoft fonts in a package under non-free section, but Fedora requires you to build it yourself.
 
Debian moves way more slowly especially lately as they try to support too many architectures and even a BSD kernel. So things like systemd which are the hot new thing on Fedora and many other distros are not available on Debian and who knows if they ever will be.
