Black Repartition (Russian: Чёрный передел, romanized: Chornyi peredel; also known as Black Partition) was a revolutionary populist organization in Russia in the early 1880s.
Black Repartition (BR) was established in August-September 1879 after the split of Zemlya i volya (Land and Liberty). The name comes from the Russian countryside, where rumors circulated among peasants about the approaching repartition. @ThangHoang Yes, you can ask ChatGPT about that sort of thing, though it may not be perfectly reliable. If you have specific questions you can ask ELL.
By the way, if you ever see spam on the site lasting for more than a minute, you can report it in Charcoal HQ. (That's what the SmokeDetector user is all about, though I delete its comments when it posts in here :p)
Usually spam I see on the SE network is deleted very fast.
But occasionally the system utterly fails and we're left with spam on the site for hours. Sometimes this happens because nobody's there to flag it. Other times it happens because people are seeing it but decide to vote to close "as spam"...
@Araucaria-Nothereanymore. As I mentioned in my comments, the OP and their comments came across as not 'serious' (my unstated euphemism for immature. If I calculated correctly, I think that is why it was so highly downvoted. (also one of the commenters doesn't seem to be very knowledgable of linguistics) And then the user deleted themselves (which is what deleted the question). Otherwise, what a great example for the linguistics lesson.
Is the tonicity topic discussed in some phonology text? Do you have a good reference? Though the toncept of stress is well known, your mentioning of 'ton-' was totally new to me and I'd like to read up on them.
@Mitch The command is !!/report example.stackexchange.com/q/#### (replacing the URL with a link to the specific post), but if you're not comfortable doing that (or aren't entirely sure it's spam) you can just post a link to the post and ask someone else to look into it (make sure you include something else in the message so it doesn't onebox)
Of course, you should remember to flag it as spam too
Sometimes the post is already reported. In the case of our site, you'll usually see a message from SmokeDetector here in chat (in which case reporting doesn't do anything)
In American English fast speech, I have noticed that the 'd' sound in words like 'birdy' and 'guardian' sometimes appears to be pronounced as a voiced retroflex plosive (/ɖ/) instead of the standard voiced alveolar plosive (/d/). I would like to know if this is a recognized phenomenon.
