@EnderLook In the US it's called 'COD' for Cash On Delivery. This is if you pay when it arrives to the delivery person, not at time of ordering (like is usual with internet purchases).,

It doesn't matter whether it is foreign or local, just the timing of the payment.

What I wanted to say is "keep your cards above the table".

And I'd probably be understood if I said that; the metaphor is reasonably clear.

But that particular metaphor doesn't seem to be common. I wonder if there's a common one.
