I just found a comment on this site in which one user tells another user, "You do not have a mathematical mind."
Which is a rather inappropriate thing to say on this site... but this particular case is particularly inappropriate, as the target of the comment is Peter Shor.
Anyway, I just flagged it as unfriendly.
I just thought it was funny that someone would accuse Peter of not having a mathematical mind. :D

I did see a clear negativity and biased opinions against Visual Basic 6.0 here, on stack overflow. I have to wonder why since VB6 is clearly a powerful language and a lot of advanced app's can be done in it in record time (not to mention the speed of the app's). Hey, I too have a question: "since Belarus’ President’s actions are nothing but “outrages against human rights” (Motyl, 2000, para. 1) for they infringe them." am I right in not using "upon" after "infringe" here?
@RegDwigнt Don't need 'em because can't use 'em because can't write songs no way no how.
BTW, speaking of Brahms Requiem, I'm sure that you will find a new appreciation for all kinds of music you never thought about before, now that you're singing in a competent choir. Something about being inside the music puts you strongly in touch with just what it is that makes those pieces special.
This is where I got my passion for R. Strauss and others.
@Robusto oh that vid is just British entertainment. No lessons really. I merely chose to subtitle it that way. Because, as a rule, I like to subtitle things very poorly.
You want a proper lesson, go write a song right now. There. Done.
Nobody can just sit down and write a mass in H minor. Even Bach couldn't. You need to bang your head against the wall for 64 years first.
Somehow you can only get better at things that you keep doing, but never at things that you never do. It's stupid and I don't know who decided that it must be that way, but alas, that's just what we're stuck with.
Write 500 hundred songs and throw the first 499 away.
You can do that on a lazy Sunday.
I figure it will probably take me twenty more years to write my first SATB piece. But that's only because I've not written 500 SATB pieces today. Had I done that, I'd have my first good piece by now.
