I put in water, salt, sugar, and oil (and no egg for you) first, then stir/shake until thoroughly mixed; lastly add flour and yeast (no stirring, obviously). Today I did it exactly the same way but without the stirring, and it rose far less than normally. So it is really the stirring that does it. With only 350 g of flour it rises almost to the lid, no weird holes or anything.
