@Tonepoet They shouldn't if you word it properly.
@Tonepoet Wha?? Don't not post your better answer!! That's the whole point of having the capacity for multiple answers, some may be better than others. On math.SE, you'd think there should only be one answer to a question ever, but that is obviously not the case there. It's how you present your answer.
I didn't say better. I'm a very verbose writer by most people's standard. Also I don't want to tread the line of what's a dupe and what's not really...
01:12
@Tonepoet understood on treading the line. but I encourage you to post anyway and if there is a long delay when you post, give an explanatory comment maybe.
also, different people have different styles. Barry England tends to be very short, but tchrist very verbose. Details allows the user to judge for themselves (but give a TL;DR so the reader doesn't get lost).

What's this thing with the word happen
"They promise me the same thing and nothing happens after that." vs. "They promise me the same thing and nothing is happening after that."
Grammatical difference in terms of meaning between the two?
dont know if the present continues kinda makes sense here.
thoughts?

Not quite drawn and quartered, but en route.
He's at least drawn and belimbed.
For other senses of drawn.

What is the mean of this:
"A surprising number of people are completely unaware of the fact that you can actually break queries onto multiple lines."
@Shafizadeh Context, please.
Also, what part of the meaning can't you get? Tell us so we won't run in circles.

Q: PHP MySQL Search between with an "or" condition

Tom CanfarottaI am attempting a search between two values with an or condition but can not seem to get this to work. Here is my search: $search = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `data` WHERE (`Required ACT` between ($act1) and ($act2) OR (`Required SAT` between ($sat1) and ($sat2))"); It works fine when alone b...

first comment of the answer ^
OK, what part of the sentence confuses you?
Hey @Ter, long time no chat!
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. anywhere of that. I can translate it to my native language, but I can't understand the concept
It seems to me meaningless
It means "A lot of people don't know the fact that you can write queries in more than one line, and that's surprising."
17:46
:-)
Well, I really don't know why that comment got 2 upvote ..!
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. What is the name of your city?
@Shafizadeh Tabriz
good
And your age?
17. (It's 2 days since I'm not 16 anymore)
WTF ...! Then you are really babe :-)
Field of study ?
Mine field.
17:58
what? I think I didn't say my point correctly. I meant was what is the name of your field?
I know.
Experimental Science.
I see
And how can you write English as well?
When you have learned it?
@Shafizadeh Your second sentence is ungrammatical.
> Then you're just a baby!
Sorry. I don't know English very well ^
No problem, we always learn.
18:01
Like ^
And one thing else, What is your sex? Male, Female?
I'm a molecule, gender unspecified.
:d
I'm serious ..
I'm MAR. Nice to meet you serious.
alright .. and nice to meet you too
@Shafizadeh Male
↑↑↑That's two minor sentences without punctuation. I'm improving.
18:08
I got it at that time ;-)
@Shafizadeh So should I reveal my passport number now?
emm, that's a joke ? ^
Supposed to be.
↑ Minor sentence.
18:10
how do you write that up-arrow ?
copy/paste ?
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. Yo!
18:26
@Shafizadeh it's not a good thing to ask age sex location. It is too intrusive.
That's why @Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. Responded that way.
Personal info should be protected.
Maybe you are right ..! But actually @Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. is living in my country and he is the first guy which I visited here ..! (same country). That makes me curious to ask him more than usual a bit ;-)
18:50
Sure. We're all curious. But remember that chat here is fully indexed and open to the world by Google. So it is entirely public (and you should assume all chat everywhere is like that)
Anyway, you should spend time here first before asking such direct questions.

Q: How do Americans pronounce the 't' in "romantic", "countable", etc?

FardAs for a 't' trapped between /n/ and a vowel, I've heard it pronounced in three different ways: Maybe the formal, standard way is to fully pronounce the /t/ sound: romantic: /roʊˈmæntɪk/ Another way is to omit the /t/ altogether: Atlantic: /ətˈlæn(t)ɪk/ Yet another way is to pro...

Tom, up for some etymology?
Should her shudder shoulders?
22:36
@crl wiktionary is crap, except where it copies from other reputable sources.
@crl etymonline
different sources. should is the past tense of shall (or was in the past), shoulder is cognate with shield.
