How do you describe this, when making cake, I beat sugar and egg yolks until it forms a creamy mixture but as I add milk or oil, sugar curdles? they get seperated (sugar and egg yolks, that is)
curdles? weeping liquid?

Q: Is 'racist' a made up word by Trotsky in 1927

Elberich SchneiderAccording to what it is written in the image below, 'racist is a made up word by Leon Trotsky in 1927'. I searched in Online Etymology Dictionary and found that racist 1932 as a noun, 1938 as an adjective, from race (n.2); racism is first attested 1936 (from French racisme, 1935), originally...

@RegDwigнt, @AndrewLeach, @MattE.Эллен, can you guys take a look and tell me what you think? ^^

an "-ist" is a practitioner of an "-ism"
-ism (i.e. ‘belief in’) and -ist (i.e. ‘one who believes in’).

Yo pal!

How are you?

user116848
I am fine, thanks. And you?

Fine thanks.

@Robusto I reckon Skeptics is a good place for that.

And, it appears, so do they. The question's now at +1 and the answers have been upvoted again too.

Hi @AndrewLeach!

Hi Arrowfar.
I'm sitting at my desk at work, watching someone UAT a new system which should go live today.
Might not be very communicative.

UAT?

user116848
@AndrewLeach Ahh. Well, good luck! :)

That comes after OAT (Operational Acceptance Test), which I did.

@AndrewLeach Good. Glad we don't have to deal with it here.
@crl: Weird how cycling time can vary from day to day. Today I beat my time from yesterday by four minutes.
And I didn't feel any different yesterday.
I also kind of wonder about the variation in distance, since I run the same route every day.
I didn't include Friday because I screwed up the measurement. I paused the meter at a stoplight and forgot to turn it back on until a few minutes later.

3:40 PM
@Robusto I recently read that over a long course, minor variations in how you ride the tangents can make a big difference in distance traveled and time.
Oh. Those are all almost exactly the same distance.
Also dude, you need to eat more. You're going to waste away at that rate.

Sometimes I get dreams about chat that I am saying xyz to xyz person, like general comments you know.

user116848
I feel pretty weird after I wake up because none of that has actually happened.

user116848
Well, I feel glad too that I didn’t say anything stupid in reality.

user116848
So a good friend of mine, a neighbor, asked me for my router’s password the other day and I had to say “no” because I never give my passwords. I told him that he can use the internet in my home if he likes, but apparently he wanted to work from his own home. I live in apartments so everything is so close. I felt kinda bad after rejecting him.

user116848
These kinda situations are tricky. You have to come up with something creative to keep the peace too.

user116848
But I am pretty sure I will get the same treatment from him next time :)

@Arrowfar Hi Arrowfar
@Robusto I rode early too, yep you've got some interesting standard deviation
don't know why.. maybe traffic lights. It shouldn't vary much for me since I don't really stop at traffic lights :~ and I use the same speeds for each section
Do your gps device automatically log those stuff, (i.e. detects when the speed of the bike is >0)?
@Arrowfar Did he need connection just temporarily? it happened with a neighbor, so I changed the wifi password, gave it to him, and switched back a few days later
If he needs a permanent connection, then make him pay half the bill :)

user116848
7:57 PM
@crl Yeah just temporarily. Yes, changing wifi password afterwards is a good solution.

user116848

user116848
@crl Btw this is a very good strategy.

user116848
I was thinking like this: If I change the password I'll have to remember the new one :-)

user116848
Silly me.
