!!define loser
@skullpatrol loser A person who fails to win.
@Robusto It's not my fault.
wait, so is KitSox a bot or an actual person?
@KitSox I think an actual person.
bzzt, beep, beep, boop, boop
how amusing
we have our own little turing test here in the room
20:02
flips some switches, pokes a few things
Has she been acting human again?
We are not amused.
@KitSox: How did your interview go?
!!define interview
@aufkag interview (obsolete) An official face-to-face meeting of monarchs or other important figures. [16th-19th c.]
lol
this is awesome
!!define pants
20:04
@JSBձոգչ pants (plural only, chiefly North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) An outer garment worn by men and women that covers the body from the waist downwards, covering each leg separately, usually as far as the ankles; trousers. [from 19th c.]
Today I learned that they would have offered me a job already if the CIO hadn't insisted on meeting everyone.
@KitFox woooo! so does that mean you have the job?
I have not yet been offered a position.
I am reasonably confident that they will though.
The CIO is European.
Hard to read, but I think I did an adequate job.
I think sufficient for him to feel comfortable letting the hiring manager take me on if she so chooses.
When will you find out?
Maybe tomorrow. I don't know for sure.
20:06
All Soul's Day
The guy on the leadership team was visibly miffed that the CIO didn't take his word on how great I was.
And the hiring manager was very apologetic about having to ask me to come down again.
Within about ten minutes of meeting him, the CIO told me I was very Dutch.
I chose to take that as a compliment.
@Cerb.
@KitFox Are you?
Not genetically, no.
What a strange thing to say then.
What can I say? He was very German.
20:10
@KitFox Europeans, too, can be swayed by blowjobs.
4
Whaa. I hope you didn't.
Didn't what?
@KitFox Wow. I'd have slapped him.
Especially since I know how Germans feel about the Dutch, but he meant it as "sensible and straightforward."
I think.
@KitFox Well, but that hardly defines @Cerberus.
20:12
If I had thought faster, I would have said "Thank you, but I'm really just average height."
@KitFox As opposed to which nationality? Yours?
@Robusto Tru dat, but he was the one who was telling us just the other day about "Dutch sense" or whatever.
@aufkag There is no "as opposed to" in that sentence.
I'd have said, "Thanks, but I'm not gay, a prostitute, or a drug addict. Or blond. But I am tall."
@KitFox Well, I guess it took a lot of Dutch courage to get even that much out.
"Thanks. I do rather enjoy sticking my fingers in dikes."
3
I preface too many sentences with well. I need to cut that out.
Well, on the other hand . . .
@KitFox *dykes
20:14
I do the same thing with "So". It completely dates me.
backs out of room slowly
"Well, I was struck by a windmill once."
"Is it the wooden shoes? Because I almost didn't wear them."
@aufkag That's not how it works, Don Quixote. You have to go after them. They might be giants, after all.
struck by a windmill (= gone insane)
20:18
!!define windmill
@JSBձոգչ windmill A machine which translates linear motion of wind to rotational motion by means of adjustable vanes called sails.
sounds perfectly sane to me
!!define sane
Sounds a little too sane.
@aufkag sane Being in a healthy condition; not deranged; acting rationally; -- regarding the mind.
20:18
Hey, anybody here a black belt in Six Sigma?
@KitFox Isn't everybody these days?
Do they have yellow, orange and blue belts as well?
No.
!!wiki Six Sigma
Six Sigma is a set of strategies, techniques, and tools for process improvement. It was developed by Motorola in 1986. Six Sigma became famous when Jack Welch made it central to his successful business strategy at General Electric in 1995. Today, it is used in many industrial sectors. Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of peopl...
Personally, I think it is dated and not particularly applicable, but hey, if that's what he wants.
cracks knuckles
20:20
@KitSox That's not as much fun as Sex Sigma. Not by a long shot.
What happened to @cornbreadninja麵包忍者? Did all the sex confound her?
Maybe she needed to tend her tulips.
You confounded her.
@skullpatrol Then by your logic, I must be sex.
@KitFox Sly. Very sly.
It's Halloween, and time to feed the children before we go beg for candy.
Happy New Year.
@Robusto Like a fox?
See y'all tomorrow.
Tend her tulips? Hmm.
20:22
!!YouTube people are still having sex
@Robusto Yeah, like I didn't mean that.
!!youtube eagles are turning people into horses
Good night.
20:23
Bai.
In honor of costume day:
@Robusto If by "tall" you mean "short", then that would have been appropriate.
@KitFox And how do Germans feel about the Dutch?
@Cerberus But I got the rest right, yeah?
Of course.
All Dutch farmers in remote villages are gay prostitutes.
@Cerberus I knew it.
On crack.

@Robusto That has to be the most out of context video posted in this chat ever.
@Cerberus I take it you don't understand, like, anything.
Did you even see Moonrise Kingdom?
Of course not.
Have I seen any film?
You are deaf and the woods are full of singing birds.
20:56
I heard there was sex in here.
There is sex wherever you go.
What kind of a bird . . . are you? points
I'm a magp – ooh shiny
"ooh shiny" is so played.
A guy I work with doesn't have the pitcher-picture split.
21:07
Don't go with him ta the pitcher show.
> The NSA is now fully engaged in its own defense. Losing support it assumed was guaranteed has forced it to start playing dirty. With the administration swiftly extracting itself from this codependent relationship and an angered (but for all the wrong reasons) Sen. Feinstein targeting any number of surveillance programs, the NSA can no longer rely on rehashing talking points and staying above the fray. This will get nastier as it goes on, and that's wonderful.
@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 Is that related to the lecture-lecher split?
@BraddSzonye prolly
I was trying to decide whether that merger was productive for other words, and that's the first similar minimal pair that came to mind.
Although while I do merge picture with pitcher in casual/rapid speech, I don't think I'd ever merge lecture with lecher.
Now what?
Run out of room in the wins column?
22:21
Have fun tonight, boils and ghouls.
22:47
Thanks pal :D
23:10
It's raining here. We've had exactly one troupe of trick-or-treaters.
Oh, it's Halloween today?
@Robusto it finally stopped here.
@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 We just got group #2.

@Cerberus I take it you don't understand, like, anything.
@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 Nice.
Hey, how was I supposed to know?
@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 Continuing the blue motif . . .
But, but I just started a Pandora Halloween station.
I'll listen to that one, though.
23:57
I just freaked out because I’m home alone, it’s All Hallows Eve, and somebody started playing the piano.
It was the kittens, who’ve just discovered the piano.
