What bothers me even more than false memory is how memory is reinforced by re-remembering. So as the years go by there are certain ridiculously annoying things I wish I could forget, but I've remembered them enough that it's like they're burned in. Example: my first mistake on a spelling test all year in third grade was on "juice". I don't need to know that anymore, brain.

Plenty of good memories are in there too, but it's just so odd.

And then there's the stuff I purposely tried not to think about for so long. I basically have a several year gap in my memory covering much of college when my ex was there. I didn't drink or take any (not medically required) drugs at the time; I just forgot, because I tried not to remember. I couldn't tell you what I did most vacations, half the classes are just a fact that I took them and not a real memory, that kind of thing.
