@meer2kat Okay.
I like the word metallurgy.
I never know how to pronounce it. I like the way it looks though.
repeats metallurgy until it sounds funny
meh-tahl-urge-ee
meh-tuhl-lurge-ee
I imagine that would be difficult for Southerners.
18:01
which is it? :(
@KitFox I am indeed a Southerner, so yeah :P
According to my COED, both are correct.
Except for the first one: it is mi not meh.
you keep a co-ed about your person?
but the the rest of me wants to say
meh-dull-lurge-ee
meta lurjee
I imagine in Southern dialect, it would sound much like mallergy.
18:04
@KitFox Depends on the state and how country it is
@MattЭллен I have an electronic one.
I've heard:
mehdlurgee
mahdlurgee
Never heard mallergy
electronic co-eds. Interesting. I didn't realise AI had come along so far
Heh.
Yeah, I'm guessing you're relatively close to the Mason-Dixon line, and urban.
18:06
You scare me sometimes.
I don't know why that would be the case.
I'm (originally) from 3 hours south of the Mason-Dixon line, and am originally from a large 7-city metropolitan area.
Now I live just outside a large city in another state where they have a little more of a southern twang and a very distinct dialect
Well, you did mention that you went to a school where gangs were an issue.
So I assumed you were urban.
Ah indeed
Your profession of faith puts you either in the South or the Midwest, but your picture makes me think Southern.
And there was some construction you used that made me think you were close to Pennsylvania.
18:11
And the close to the mason-dixon line part?
@KitFox huh?
Also, I lived in North Carolina for a while.
Well there we go then
I'm from SE Virginia. 1 hr north of kitty hawk. Hampton Roads.
@meer2kat Some grammatical construction, like "needs washed" which is particular to Pennsylvania and Maryland.
@meer2kat So I was off.
Have you lived a lot of places?
I'd have guessed Manassas if you'd pressured me.
@meer2kat Eastern Seaboard, some, but not really anywhere else.
So that must be Newport News area?
18:14
Okay you seem to have picked up on a lot of the colloquial differences
@KitFox Spot on. I've lived in Hampton, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach
Now I'm in Kentucky.
Oh Kentucky. I wouldn't have guessed that. All I remember about Kentucky was lots and lots of trees, which is weird because I grew up in Maine, where the whole state is trees, so you would think that forest wouldn't be remarkable.
We have the green grass
Not so much on giant forests
@meer2kat I lived in Wilmington, then Winston-Salem, but I spent a lot of time in the Triangle.
Oh yeah?
That's cool!
I also had friends in Smithfield and Richmond.
18:17
So you're a Louisville slugger?
:D
I have a picture with the giant bat :D
It's taller than a lot of the buildings downtown
@KitFox Smithfield ham and the airport in Richmond. LOL those are my only associations with either of those
The ham was good. The "lagoons" were stinky.
Mhmmmm
Ever been to the outer banks?
My friend got married in VA, her husband's family was from there, but I can't remember whereabouts.
I have not been to OBX.
That's sad definitely worth a visit
18:20
I have a cousin who is a large animal vet. She lives in VA, but I also don't remember where. Seems like it's Newport News area.
@meer2kat Well, I lived in Wilmington. I got a lot of beach there.
As is Tangier
I lived in Virginia Beach. Most of us in the area vacationed at other beaches for some reason :P

How is Wilmington? I've never been
I'm talking Wilmington, NC, not DE. It was fine. About what you'd expect of a beach town.
Well, the beach was actually Wrightsville Beach.
It was kind of like a very tiny New Orleans, but that's coming from a Yankee who is not used to Southern architecture or culture.
Yeah hahahaha
Is there anything you wanted to do there that you never had the chance to do?
Aside from several people? No. Not really.
hahahahaha
I always wanted to see the pony swim from Assoteague to Chincoteague
18:25
Oh that would be cool.
Of course I left behind some people too ;) .
I had to try really hard not to crack up at my desk when I read that
!!youtube do me baby
!!youtube she bangs
18:32
:-O
everyone needs more spanish-influenced music
hopefully that's the song
and not something else
@meer2kat only if it has horns
and what's it called? mariyachi yelling?
I dunno
That is the song, right guys?
I can't open it
Hmm.

Norsk Chihuahuaklubb?
No, the sound of the beat.
ohhh
You know. nchk nchk nchk
bobs head like a pigeon
18:37
lol!!!
"looks like you might have suffered some... major minor injuries."
Do you get tingles? ASMR?
"looks like they did more than steal your purse...and if you happen to be one of those male heteros, we'll pretend that they stole your wallet instead."
I love Ephemeral Rift. He's such a hoot.
Is "'I like your butt,' he said cheekily' quality writing?
Depends on your audience.
yeah..
So, not high-brow?
18:48
raises eyebrow
Butt is not a high register word.
@KitFox Which synonym is?
I would think there is none.
Perhaps backside chortle chortle chortle.
hahaha
A Tom Swifty (or Tom Swiftie) is a phrase in which a quoted sentence is linked by a pun to the manner in which it is attributed. Tom Swifties may be considered a type of wellerism. Origins The name comes from the Tom Swift series of books (1910–present), similar in many ways to the better-known Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series, and, like them, produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate. In this series, the young scientist hero underwent adventures involving rocket ships, ray-guns and other things he had invented. A stylistic idiosyncrasy of at least some books in this series was that ...
@tchrist Nice.
Pretty awful, I guess.
Are there more constructions that are named after... a name?
Not including wellerisms.

22:17
"Naked Lunch"
@JohanLarsson So that's where I parked my car!
@meer2kat All the girls in my neighborhood wanted to do that when I was younger. Sounds neat, but a lot of driving to do just to see horses swim.
22:56
@Robusto Haha nice.
Hoe kom je daarbij?
@MattЭллен Ahh OK, so they are trying to attract random customers to some party at a random destination they can milk.
@JohanLarsson Pretty!
23:57
@JohanLarsson Vines and creepers? Yikes. But at least there's a car in there somewhere.
