Accessories are expensive, so between headphones and a wireless charger (which, honestly, should be included, or else don't advertise "wireless charging"), if I wanted all the accessories it'd be like $100 more

@Cerberus Of course, there are lots of "budget" phones that are perfectly good. But the software support is a problem for me. I want 1. updates straight from google, and 2. cyanogenmod.

@Cerberus Between earbuds and the charger it will almost be $100 in accessories. So the $300 phone (actually $359 in Canada for 16gb, plus tax and shipping) + accessories starts edging up there in cost.
@Cerberus I noticed several differences. I even updated my tablet to 4.1 to try to get some of the new features (but had to downgrade because the CM was too unstable).
Well, they can show you information, like the time. So your phone can be an alarm clock. Or your phone can be a photo frame. Basically it can do useful things while you're not otherwise using the phone.
@Cerberus Is the notification bar on your phone just full of programs that are running constantly, like your bloated - ahem, I mean elaborately decorated - computer systray?

@aediaλ Haha, I wish! But, no: I actually have zero icons it. I don't want my notification bar polluted, because I rely on it for new thingies that I need to act on, as opposed to on my PC, where nothing urgent happens.
It knows the difference between wall charger and USB charging, I think, even when the USB connection does nothing but charge (i.e. when you have an extension cord or the PC is turned off).

@KitFox You use your phone for outgoing and perhaps incoming phone calls; it is what phones do. @Cerb doesn’t have a phone; he has a handheld computer and always-in-touch-with-everything social-extension. Completely different thing. Should not call his a phone.
@tchrist As you may have noticed, the only notifications I mentioned are missed calls and text messages. I am no more socially connected on my phone than any old black-and-white-phone user.
In Korea or Taiwan, they have started selling small phone "mates", which are really small phones connected wirelessly to large smartphones, used to make calls and such easily with one hand and keep in your pocket. Asians and women often have smaller hands. And women wear tighter pants: large phones won't fit into their pockets.
