@KitFox contiguous is boring. The geographic center of the US as a whole — now that is a 64k question.
It's in North Dakota I think.
21:04
North Dakota? Aren't you forgetting Hawaii?
I'd guess it would be off the coast of Washington.
Or even California.
Or perhaps Washington proper.
I really need to look up where Hawaii really is.
[[Image:USCenterPop_Geographic2010.png|thumb|400px|Map showing the locations of the U.S. geographic center of area, mean center of population, and median center of population, 2010 (U.S. Census Bureau)]] While the exact centre of a landmass like the United States will be imprecise for a number or reasons, including such factors as the exact placement of thousands of miles of changing shoreline, the U.S. National Geodetic Survey (NGS) has produced designated measurements for the center of the United States. From the time of the 1912 additions of New Mexico and Arizona, until the 1959 addi...
@KitFox that's cheating.
I told you it was in North Dakota.
We went to the Kansas one instead.
@KitFox Wiki sez South Dakota, though.
Oops. We were just south of it.
So I was remembering it as north of me.
We were in the Badlands and decided to visit Carhenge, so that one was in the wrong direction.
Yeah?
Looking at the Hawaii article, I have a hard time believing it would be anywhere to the East of Nevada.
A few very small islands.
Look more carefully at the parallels.
Of course.
Bye for real, now.
21:10
And then the longitude markers.
That's what I'm saying, it all depends on what projection you have in your head.
It totally looks like you could stick in another US between Hawaii and Texas.
Meh. Anyway, I've not been to that one.
I have to commute. Laters!~
Bai!

@cornbreadninja Have you ever lost a starting matching with a cat? It's very humiliating. And winning...it's not like they feel bad, when they turn their eyes away it's like they're bored.
@Mitch Try with this one:
When I see cats like that, at first it is shocking, then I think, man, that's way overreacting, really, you should keep it cool.
user19161
Is that a real cat?
I think it was some Grinnell College students who one time calculated the geographical center of Iowa, near the town of State Center, and went out in some farmer's field to plant a sign reading "Dead Center, Iowa".
But I can't find it on the Internet, so it didn't happen.

I am thinking, perhaps a square with a few colours would be more interesting.
user19161
However, my gimp skills are almost zero to even create that!
@JasonBourne Somebody should get a light tan square. Nobody will know you're in this room.
user19161
@Mechanicalsnail Is yours done with gimp?
@JasonBourne Yes.
I just fetched the 480x480 original from Gravatar and filled the colors, so you could do it with anything.
user19161
@Mechanicalsnail I find gimp and inkscape too unintuitive. There are 9000 buttons to choose from!
21:36
@JasonBourne Try Paint.
user19161
@Mechanicalsnail Not on Windows!
@JasonBourne Or any of its clones.
@JasonBourne inkscape is confusing, but persistence is key
@Mechanicalsnail Sadly, I'm not clever enough today to make a reference like that; I was just teasing Jasper about not recognizing me.

21:38
@aediaλ Well, if you had let your hair down, that would have been easier.
@aediaλ Interesting coincidence then.
@JasonBourne I've cut it! You'll be waiting a long time.
user19161
@aediaλ Is it as short as Ellen de Generes's now?
Uhh probably? I don't know how long her hair is exactly.
It's shorter than Kes in Voyager and maybe a little longer than Ianto in Torchwood, if that helps? I've only been watching sci-fi tv on Netflix lately.
user19161
Ah, no wonder I got confused!
user19161
21:42
It looked a little like Harry Potter there!
@RegDwighт You descend from a monkey. I descend from a dam.
@JasonBourne Just think of it as 9e3.
23:07
i mean we're not "monkeys." per se. but we're "hominids" for sure.
i do like bananas, though...
mmm bananas. i even like typing the word bananas. bananas.
ok, maybe more than a little monkey dna :)
