2:00 AM
There were next to no wild times in high school, or before.

Weren't wild then either.
Not that I ever was, but some people were, in college.

There was an incident when I was 13. Attention was not on me.

Your parents?

None of my friends could relate.
My dad had a heart attack and a triple bypass, and was in the hospital for a year.

Oh, dear.

2:01 AM
He was almost 45 when I was born.
He was never the same after that.

That sucks.

Truth.
He gave up on life after that. That was the worst part.

Wow.
Was his brain badly damaged?

As my aunt, his sister, said a few years ago, that guy who gave him mouth-to-mouth didn't do him any favors.
Not badly, no.

That's sad.

2:03 AM
Mostly, he was shamed by the fact that he couldn't work anymore.

Really?
That's very sad.

He was a butcher. Doctor said he wasn't allowed.
Course, he was (does math) 58 when it happened.

Too young.

He'd eaten a lot of red meat and smoked a lot of unfiltered cigarettes.

My father was 46 when my brother was born. He only had a (mild) heart attack a few years ago, when he was in his late sixties. Fully recovered, he was lucky.

2:05 AM
I'm glad to hear it. :)

So I take it your father is no longer alive?

Yes. He lived another 13 years.
Had a few strokes in that time, and then the final one.

Sucks.

What sucked was taking him off of life support and thinking that he'd pass quickly.

He didn't?

2:07 AM
So... balrogs.

Heh.
Balrogs aren't good people.

He lasted three days.

That's long.

Truth.

No euthanasia available?

2:08 AM
There was a creepy chaplain, too.

Or a strong shot of morphine?

That was the euthanasia.
Signing the DNR.

Do not revive?

I'm not sure that's done here.
Resuscitate, but yeah.

Ah.

2:09 AM
Same diff.

Who called the chaplain?

Oh, that was a perk of the hospital.

Great.

Isn't it like, 4AM there?
or later?
Just curious.

4:12, yes.

2:12 AM
Ding!

Let me guess, it's 8 pm for you?

9!
Nein!

This is quite grim. I am very sorry for you.

Ah.
@tchrist You're not supposed to listen.
This is bad for you.

Thank you, but it's in the rear view. My current issue is that my mom is... dating.
And tells me things.
-_-

2:13 AM
Hilarious.
My mother used the word sex last week, for the first and hopefully last time.
My brother and I were not amused.

But, those 13 years were not fun for her. It's easy to type about, but I feel quite differently when she's... telling me things.

Eh?

Thankfully it was fairly abstract.
@cornbreadninja Of course.

When there is a new litter of kittens, how do you know what they are unless you sex them?

So I've been working at calligraphy, right? She asked me to (LOL) letter a couple of signs.
Namely, "Save a horse, ride a cowboy".

2:15 AM
@tchrist One just does it. One doesn't talk about it.

Gosh.

Those poor kittens.

Have you sexed the kittens yet?

We have that verb too, in Dutch.

@Cerberus so what was the consext?

2:16 AM
Sexing chicks was a very lucrative job, requiring special training.

But I would just say "are they boys or girls?".
@cornbreadninja Don't make me think about it!
@tchrist How much?

@Cerberus Moment. Finding ref.
Got it.

What a monstrous outfit.

Whose?

"You've ruined Platoon"?
Or the lot of them?

2:23 AM
@tchrist That you should even have to ask!

Chiefs are sucking; time to travel.

Safe journey.

Thank you, sir.
Night, gents!
Don't let the Balrogs bite.

Rich Hall’s cowboy costume?

Bye!
Whose?

2:24 AM
The American. Didn’t speak much.
I really do not know what you are talking about.
Sorry.

Fry's!

Oh.
I thought it was tastefully color-coördinated with the background set behind him.
Seemed intentional.
You don’t like it? Really?
I’ve really never seen Stephen wear anything outlandish.

And you disliked fops!
I am baffled, nay, stupéfait.

What is foppish there?
I am genuinely mystified.

The handkerchief.
The pattern of his jacket. God, I hope it isn't a suit.
The orange.

2:32 AM
What’s wrong with orange?
It’s a color.

It's just wrong, unless you can pull off some very hip look that is certainly beyond my capabilities.
It can be done.

I thought the handkerchief was just a bit of a flourish, like the dercorated icing on a cake.
Orange is wrong? Really?

It has a pattern.

Oh my.
I shall have to inform my closet.
I'm afraid it has quite a bit of orange in it.
It will be very disappointed.
What’s wrong with patterns? They make things interesting.
Are you some dreadful Goth or what?

An orange shirt with a tie is wrong if you aren't a dandy, sorry.

2:35 AM
I though fops and dandies were centuries gone.
That’s just Stephen.

An in-your-face pattern like that can be OK, but it is quite daring in a jacket like that. Not everyone can pull it off.

I don’t understand this prejudice against orange.
It saddens me.
I am always cheerful when I wear orange.

Orange shorts might be OK.

I put it on when I am happy.
Oh, I have orange shirts, too.
Bright ones, with patterns.

Or a casual orange shirt, though it is still a very difficult colour tomatch.

2:36 AM
I’m sure they would put you in a coffin.

@tchrist eyes bulging

These are like Hawaiian shirts.
Very comfortable and eye-catching.

Are you some dreadful Goth or what?
I like to wear bright, colorful clothes.
I hate bland and boring.
There will be time enough for that when you’re dead.
You would love my socks.
And hats.

A bright item is normally worn with other subdued items for balance. And a pattern on a bright colour is extremely hard.

2:39 AM
Yes, it’s true. I usually don’t have mixed patterns top and bottom.
Just underneath sometimes.
No need to wear argyle socks with plaid shorts and a Hawaiian shirt all.

Brightly patterned socks can be OK.
Anything "Hawaiian" is just...
Well.

FUN!
It is FUN!

How is it "fun"?

It perks you up. It perks other people up. People notice you, remember you.

Can you show me a picture of an outfit with something "Hawaiian" that you think looks nice?

2:42 AM
I don’t know about outfits, but there are many many really cool Hawaiian shirts!! I cannot believe what you are saying.
I am not talking about grass skirts, you understand.

Sorry, it's just about the unhippest thing ever here.

As would you be here.

If we're talking about the same thing.
@tchrist I don't think so.

These are almost all great.
Can’t seem to get the image.

Eh.
I'm afraid I would have to disagree.

2:46 AM
A very few of those I wouldn’t wear, but almost all of them are really nifty.

What do you think of these guys, but with their shirts loosened up and a bit more wrinkled (because now they look like dolls)?:

Horrid.
The guy on the left I would just shoot.

@tchrist I saw mostly women's shirts.
@tchrist Why?

Where did you see women’s shirts? Those were only guys’ shirts, you realize.
Because it is so boring as to die of.

It's just regular beige trousers with a regular shirt. They are just brushed up like dolls for the picture, but I mean the general outfit.
Boring?
I think they look fine.

2:48 AM
Boring.
The guy on the right is kinda cute, but his shirt reminds me of a prison uniform.

Haha.

And I loathe beige beyond imagining.

Just regular stripes.
You loathe beige!?
It's one of the basic colours.

Beige should be burnt.

Beige and dark blue are the easiest colours a man can wear. They match with basically everything.

2:50 AM
Orange?
Do they match orange?
What about bright purple?

Nothing matches with orange.

Bigot!

Nor with bright purple.
It just cannot be done.

Twice!

Nor with turquoise.

2:51 AM
Actually, all three of those match each other.
Quite nicely, too.

Haha. For clowns, maybe.

says the purple square

Yes, you're the only purple square on whom it looks good.

I LOVE to wear purple!
How could anyone hate purple?
Do you have male-pattern color blindness?
Is that the problem?

Purple is just impossible, I'm very sorry.

2:53 AM
yawn

This is about as good as it gets with turquoise. Looks nice.

Not my style.

Let me try to find something orange.
Hey, you could wear an orange tie if you were Dutch.

Ken ye the rhyme to porringer? ... And gave the Prince of Orange her.

Porringer?
This is OK, because it's casual.
And with very plain colours.
Boring, and not extremely flattering, but OK.

2:58 AM
Needs to wear patterned pants or something.

!
Not with orange!

Yes, because it is a solid.

user19161
@Cerberus He looks happy.

If you want to wear solid pants, you need a more interesting orange shift.

The primary concern of any outfit should be that it not be unflattering.
