Re: So then the situation is that the MO community cannot have a feature without SE implementing it. I believe some minor changes can be implemented also by MO community.
See this answer: Who owns MathOverflow?

Thus, moderators shall be permitted to submit additional JavaScript to Stack Exchange which, if it does not compromise the technical integrity of the network, will be inserted into the footer, allowing some reasonable modification of the site that is specific to MathOverflow 2.0.

It is understood that this script maintenance will he the sole responsibility of MathOverflow (including moderators) and not of Stack Exchange.
However, this approach would definitely not work for duration of bounties.
@domotorp I think posting on the main meta and asking only users of the specific site to vote would be rather weird.
Not to mention that you would very likely get almost no votes from MO users. (Just look how seldom a MO users bother to go to Meta Mathoverflow and vote/post/comment there. Even less of them is likely to go to Meta Stack Exchange.)
It is ok to suggest feature requests on Meta MathOverflow.
@domotorp It seems that you have several questions about the process of posting feature requests and how/when they are implemented. Why not making a questino on Meta MathOverflow about this? Maybe some of more experienced users would be willing to leave a reply.
I have some problems with my internet connection, so I am not sure whether/when I'll be able to respond. :-(

Q: Expired bounties without featured tab?

domotorpThere have been proposals to stop the bounties from expiring, to which the main counter-argument was that such questions would occupy the feature tab for too long. I see no reason at all why the bounties couldn't be kept while removing the questions from the featured tab (possibly creating an old...

Q: How should feature-requests be discussed?

domotorpI'm primarily a user of MathOverflow, but sometimes wander here in hope of making an impact. What strikes me, is how differently I'm treated over there and here, which typically means a flurry of down-votes without any explanation, followed by sporadic negative comments. I can understand this eve...

Q: Should we have standing bounties?

domotorpThere have been proposals to stop the bounties from expiring. On meta.SE these have been received rather badly, but would be most likely welcome here, as offering rewards for unsolved problems has a great tradition in mathematics, so I'm proposing to have this feature. (In case you wonder, appare...

@domotorp IIRC the reputation shown in chat is sum of all your reputations on sites where you have accounts. Some posts on meta seem to support it, for example: Chat reputation in left bar seems different than any other reputation displayed for users.

@user170039 I don't think so. I haven't reached him yet.
