Some of the shots looked like something you would find on Blender Artists not in a film
The mountains?
yeah
I thought the mountains looked pretty gorgeous....
Maybe it's the way it was graded, but I thought lighting was too sharp, too many harsh edges for my liking
Around 00:41 you can see some unsharp masking getting carried away on some of the rocks
And overzealous unsharp masking really gets under my skin for some reason
I'm also mystified by the shadow on the grassy field in the upper right at 00:25
I hadn't even noticed that the first time XD
I mean, me neither :P But I do remember being vaugely off-put by that shot, even in the first viewing
Though I loved pretty much everything about the shots in the forest, in all the fog and stuff
While I'm nitpicking, something about the transition at 00:42 felt off to me
Like, the stick went really far, but it landed comparatively gently
I guess we skipped a few seconds and after the cut we see it's third bounce or something
But it was one of the things which stuck out to me on the first viewing
The soundtrack was pretty nice though
Definitely got some Sintel vibes from it

one of the only shots I thought did not looks "right" on first viewing was the close up of the icicle melting, the ice did not look very good.
Weird, that was one of the shots I thought was the best
The water dripping seemed slightly off when I stared at it, but definitely not something I noticed on first viewing
may we are thinking of different icicles
hold on I'll get a time stamp
ok wrong icicle. The melting one does look awesome.
that icicle ^^
all the comments on BN really like it ;/
maybe I'm just odd
02:14
@David Ah, that's an icicle with frost on it, like this
Which makes it rougher/less clear than the other ones
hmm did not know such a thing existed.

If I'm not mistaken, that scene looked different while in production: https://youtu.be/U8PU9fuoKPY?t=52
That's a production report of the Spring team on Blender conference. It's the same scene, right?

Hello everywhere! I wrote a tiny yet handy addon, how can I publish it so anyone would be able to download and use it?
I found this doc: Guidelines, but it says it is required to create a wiki page. However, it links to an archived wiki, and I see no related info on the new site... So, what should I do?

@AivanF. There currently isn't any sort of "official addon database" as far as I'm aware. If you want to get in bundled with blender (or be put in the contrib repo), then you can submit it here
Otherwise you could stick it on github or similar and send a writeup to BlenderNation for publicity
Or if you want to sell it, put it on the blender market
@Ignatiamus You're right! There are quite a few differences
Not least of which the lighting
The darker one is the one in the final film

I feel like if there was that much fog in the valley there would be at least some in the higher valleys. It feels way too clear and sharp

@gandalf3 Thank you! My Addon is really small, I'm not going to sell it. I just want to understand how can I pack it to make the installation for users as simple as possible – I think, most of them have no experience of programming and don't know how to run a Python file.
@VRM I have seen such well defined cloud ceilings irl though
VRM
VRM
For sure
It feels like a miniature though
Trying to figure out why
@AivanF. If you package it up in a zip file, blender will take care of unzipping it to the right place when you select it from the install from file dialog
You could use e.g. github pages to make a simple website with a download link to make it easy for people who aren't used to downloading things from github (we've gotten a few questions about how to do that over the years..)
@VRM I think the scale of the big features on the mountains doesn't quite match the scale of the trees and such
VRM
VRM
That might be part of it
The lighting fits for a clear day

@batFINGER blender.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/73427 Don't know enough python to know if that would even still work after being edited.
