@gandalf3 ooo, new tricks. i hadn't even known about swappiness until one crash too many made me wonder if my computer was really optimized. thanks.

The archwiki is pretty good, and most things in it apply regardless of distro

@GiantCowFilms I find that one kind of funny. 2.5 they did away with all the floating popups (bad UI). now they are bringing them back...
but I guess you need somewhere to put them when you kinda get rid of the tool shelf.
@VRM ProcessExplorer. (get it) I have had and used that for years. Should be included as one of the windows system tools.

@David I'm cautious to say annoying too drastic, but I have yet to see a UI change I consider an improvement, and many that at first impression appear to be regressions. At the very least, looking at the 2.8 UI you'd never guess it was designed in 2017-18. Infact, if I had to date it without additional info, I'd probably say it was 2010, at best.

@GiantCowFilms i flagged i think 3 blends on BlendExchange for removal, from my own questions. I'm looking for a couple more. I think they are superfluous now and they are large.

Q: 3D modelling query

AbhishekI, being an ardent fan of Spiderman, decided to make a 3D model of him. After modelling and sculpting with the help of some alpha mask textures, I am almost close to finishing it, but I am stuck at the part where I have to draw the stripes (designs) and the spidey symbol (on his chest and back). ...

@GiantCowFilms ah, i see that the memory of BEx has been greatly enhanced. Well, i guess it doesn't much matter then.
they can still go, i think...

@GiantCowFilms Look at the bright side - at least Blender won't be yet another program to update their UI to look like a clone of windows 10.

5:37 PM
@VRM you just entered - you can't pretend otherwise.
I saw you fall into that box!
XD
ok then, pretend not to be there.

@kimholder That is sort of temporary. There are alot of options I am weighing for storage. Ultimately we will probably end up using a service that is pay per GB, so removing extraneous blends is still a good idea. I will look at the flagged blends as soon as my admin thingy is working again.

@GiantCowFilms did you update your 404 page yet?

VRM
@X-27 ??

@X-27 ?

When I posted that before and suggested you make it your 404 page, you said you just might :)

has anybody used a pressure-sensitive drawing tablet with Blender? on my system, Krita detects pen pressure, but Blender doesn't.
