@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ This downsampling thing is just so ironic. They compress video to make it use less bandwidth with 4:2:2 compression and such, and then people up the resolution to avoid the 4:2:2 artifacts and end up wasting space. They should rather provide 4k uncompressed than 8k at this point. or HD uncompressed rather than 4k.
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ I thing the Vive is cool. It can do pretty much everything the Oculus can do, and then some more. Its also a tiny bit more comfortable
At least the headset was way more comfortable than the Hololens. The Hololens felt like a pair of glasses that keeps slipping down, and the head band give you a headache very quickly.
The default cube last for several days before I finally delete it, then it is just empty sorrowful silence until I recover and have heart to actually make anything, and then I delete it all half way through and start over anyways . . .
My biggest issue is the only reason to finish a project is that people say "wow you are so talented" so there is no motivation not to be totally ambitious and tweak until perfect. As a result there is very low output.
I'm working on this huge project for my school... and... uh... I put a fire simulation behind it so that they would be super impressed at the little work that I did...
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ in my opinion if you are just looking for a PC thing, then just go for one of the free ones. (I have used Avira in the past, but there may be better ones now.)
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ last time I had something you could call a virus, was back many years ago, and running all that anti junk.
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ on offense taken, I know what you mean.
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ if you just watch the url bar, what you are really clicking on, plus turn off flash and java by default, then you are probably safe from 90% of the stuff.
@GiantCowFilms and to make this "first" even more special, I agree with you too. (there's one you don't see every day) :)
for the "normal" home use 8k is stupid.
kinda of the same as back a few years ago when all the phone makers were racing to pack more and more pixels in to the screens. "But guys we can't even see those, there's too many of them." However the marking guys always win "highest ppi in any screen!"
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ dont think so. remember apples marketing line "retina display" you really can't see any more pixels, our naked eyes just dont look at dots that small.
@NᴏᴠɪᴄᴇIɴDɪsɢᴜɪsᴇ O definitely, I was just talking screen size.
