Q: 3 DRF endpoints handling geojson data

nlblack323this was a pre-interview task which got me rejected, I asked for feedback and didn't get any, so I thought perhaps posting the solution here and getting feedback here would be helpful. Here's the task description which is pretty ambiguous in terms of what exactly the end result should look like? ...

I guess it's probably faster to just copy/paste to codereview than having high rep users vote to have it migrated. I cannot even see codereview in the migration list, so it's probably not even possible. — Cow 24 secs ago

Q: Google App Script to take form responses submitted by teachers on their students and produce formatted PDF student reports

StreetSavvypubI'm not a programmer but, with help, I managed to make a Google Apps Script which takes reports, submitted by teachers on their students, to the Form Responses Sheet, and then selects all responses which pertain to each student, and generates that student's report, inserting the school's logo int...

Q: Rust: Command line menu in ASCII table

m01010011Specific areas in which I'd love to get feedback: Is it good to have the Command struct own the Strings (description field)? Or since these strings aren't really meant to change, should I rather have them as &'static strs? I initially used String but then switched to &'static str, and then I sa...

@Duga It's okay: usage example, not code for review. Slightly invalidates one answer, but that's easily fixed.

Q: Terminal based game

Martin YorkLooking to build a terminal based game. I am assuming X-Term like terminal. This means: I can use the X-Term control codes to clear and move around the screen. I can use tcsetattr functions to make standard input none buffered (I think). I know this game loop runs as basically a busy wait. I wi...

It all depends on what dependencies there are between the modifications. Running back-to-back multiple times is just the way it goes. It's the OS scheduler that decides what thread that will get running time. If you need a conditional variable or not is also very dependent on what the algorithm is supposed to do. If you present the specification of what the algorithm is actually solving and then show how it's solved with threads @ codereview someone may be able to help out. — Ted Lyngmo 53 secs ago

@Duga ```
@Phroggie: Interesting. I made sure to edit the question before I posted the answer, hoping not to trigger possible answer invalidation. I guess it doesn't work that way.
Could be Duga's NTP dysync
possible answer invalidation by toolic on question by Akash Patel: codereview.stackexchange.com/posts/253150/revisions
@toolic Duga is a bit enthusiastic lately. Technically there's no support on it anymore. One of these days I expect we'll need a replacement.
18:36
Arch has NTP enabled by default and you can just enable the systemd service, and things just work. However, Ubuntu (what Duga is running on) just doesn't like to have NTP turned on.
NTP has been obsolete since '17 at least IIRC, is that why?
Or, obsolete... Not the correct term. Superseded?
As in, there's a more reliable alternative available and it has been stable for years now.
What's better than NTP? I've heard of the quantum clocks, but no-one (at home) is spending like 500 to get 100ms increase
I remember a company getting in trouble with a tender because they used the better alternative while the spec said NTP. Now if only I could remember the name of the new stuff. PTP?

possible answer invalidation by toolic on question by Akash Patel: codereview.stackexchange.com/posts/253150/revisions
The Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is a protocol used to synchronize clocks throughout a computer network. On a local area network, it achieves clock accuracy in the sub-microsecond range, making it suitable for measurement and control systems. PTP is employed to synchronize financial transactions, mobile phone tower transmissions, sub-sea acoustic arrays, and networks that require precise timing but lack access to satellite navigation signals. The first version of PTP, IEEE 1588-2002, was published in 2002. IEEE 1588-2008, also known as PTP Version 2 is not backward compatible with the 2002 version...

@Mast Thanks, not come across PTP. However, I'm not sure how active PTP development is.

Please take the tour and read How to Answer, and note well that this is not a discussion forum. We require questions that concretely ask one specific thing, and (for questions about fixing code) code examples that are specific to that question (i.e., a minimal reproducible example). We don't do code review here or offer generic advice; we answer questions, which requires a proper question to answer. — Karl Knechtel 55 secs ago
@Phroggie Redhat, Fedora, Arch
The AUR isn't official
TSN supports PTP.
Please read: minimal reproducible example Then edit your post accordingly. This site is about error. If you want to speed it up then CodeReview is more appropriate. Be sure to read their instructions on what and how to ask. — Scott Craner just now

Q: HEY!! I am to new to this platform and even new to coding, can you all help me with my game of life code in cpp

ap0calypse Does my code for game of life look good enough?what changes can i make so the code is more optimized.12 I am a beginner to java and I've coded the Game of Life! For those not familiar, the game entails creating a grid of specified dimensions with each box in the grid being either dead or alive....

@Mast you are correct. Kris, The minimal Reproducible Example is for this site and this site is about errors. CodeReview usually wants all of your code and explanation, Which is why I stated that you should read their instructions on posting. — Scott Craner 14 secs ago

Q: Faster VBA method? Add a new sheet for all files in folder, pull data from multiple reports for each one, save pdf/xlsx summary

KrisI'd appreciate any help people can offer to make this process more efficient and less goofy. I've created a process to loop through a folder of approximately 100 files, add a new sheet with a base template to each one and add in data that is pulled from several saved reports via XLookup. It works...
