Dude, I don't mean to be rude, but this code is crap. Obviously, you get paid for the number of lines of code. But if this is not the case, it can be rewritten much shorter. Create a new topic asking for a code review. And be sure to specify the exact version of EF you are using. In EF Core with the help of EF.Property method the code can be shortened by an order of magnitude. — Alexander Petrov 7 secs ago

@Duga OP added context in an answer, then I convinced them to move that context into the OP so I have deleted the answer

@Mast In Arch ntp is an official package and is available in the new minimal archinstall (installer). With chrony as a 2nd official package. Additionally NTP is the official time sync mechanism in production Windows environments. NTP is worse than PTP, however I think "obsolete" or "superseded" are not the terms you are looking for.
You are correct, REHL (and Fedora which is a descendant) both do seem to have official PTP support. However, pointing to the 'leading edge' distro Fedora as an example of what is official in Linux isn't advisable. Otherwise you'd think all distros defaulted to Wayland in 2016 (Fedora 25) when most distros are still debating whether Wayland is stable enough to default to today.

@Mast I've considered it, but my available time can be a bit unpredictable. I'm liable to disappear for weeks at a time without notice, and I don't think that's what this community deserves. Thanks for asking - it does make me feel valued.

Q: Thread pooled bidirectional breadth-first search in Java for graphs with slow node expansion - part I/II: the algorithm

coderodde(This post has part II/II.) Intro This time, I have this GitHub repository. The idea is that if the graph node expansion is slow (for example, in the case where you ask a web server to return some data), it make sense to have multiple threads to do the graph crawling. If your code runs without error and produces the correct result then you'll get better feedback on performance, style, technique if you repost your question over at the Code Review StackExchange. — Woodford 25 secs ago

@Phroggie I overestimated how standardized it would be on most Linux distros. I do know it has been stable for use on several RTOS in (MISRA-)C and extrapolated from there. Apparently, too enthusiastically.

@Mast Based on the current nominations I am changing my mind, there is only one nominee that may actually have the experience to be a good moderator, and I'm not convinced about them.
@pacmaninbw You have until 20:00Z today to change your mind as often as you like and fill out a nomination if necessary.
Slightly less than 2,5h if my timezones are correct.

Q: Last Stone Weight Problem in Haskell

WesAtWorkBackground Saw this problem on TheJobOverflow which seems to be a LeetCode question. @pacmaninbw You're probably missing Copy Editor and Refiner?
I do have the first (since '17 apparently), I don't have the latter. Refiner has only been awarded 24 times in the whole history of CR.
18:09
@Mast There are only 22 Copy Editor badges awarded.

Q: Finding all possible permutations of n-elements in an array

A: Migration of code questions from Stack Overflow to Code Review

ChrisFThere are three two primary reasons why Code Review is not on the migration list: It's still in beta and beta sites don't appear on migration lists. There's a limit of 5 migration targets and one of those has to be the site's meta. To occupy the fourth slot there has to be a history of good mig...

> In the mean time if you find a good question that's not on topic for Stack Overflow that would make a good Code Review question use the "other (needs ♦ moderator attention)" flag option to request a migration:
Don't worry, I already did :-)
If a site mod flags a question to get it migrated towards their site, that tends to hold some weight lol.
18:19
Shouldn't a Verilog question be on Electrical Engineering?
But, experience tells me there's a big chance the question will be reposted before it's getting migrated.
@pacmaninbw Only if there's a problem with it.
@Daaayz: You're welcome. Now that the problem has been solved, if you are interested in receiving more feedback on your code, you could post it on Code Review. You would post your working code there. I have several suggestions for ways to improve the code further. — toolic 40 secs ago
Technically, both sites can cover it.
@Mast Especially since the user already said they would repost it.
@pacmaninbw Par for the course.
Migrations are an odd construct.
Some say it's archaic and better abolished.
18:22
Better rarely used than abolished.
We do have 31 questions, all answered.
15 (a closely related competing language) questions, 3 unanswered.
My very first question on CR was . I'm quite rusty at it nowadays, but perhaps I should take a shot at those 3 zombies sometime.
That question and The 2nd Monitor are what started my tour here.
9.5 years ago.
Elecronics does have 1937 Verilog questions. If you want to know for sure how they deal with review requests, I can ask one of their mods.
Are you guys trying to direct traffic away from CR? :)
@toolic With you available to tackle any incoming traffic on the tag? I wouldn't dream of it :)
I'm in favour of the question getting here.
Hah!
99% of the Verilog questions on SO and EE should immediately be followed up with CR questions, once the problems in the code are solved in answers.

Q: How would I code a program that goes over the history of rock music in Java?

chrisWhen the program is used, users will learn about different musical eras, key figures, and notable compositions. it needs to have: (or you could make it simpler) Music Era Class: Create a MusicEra class with attributes such as era name, start year, end year, key figures, and notable compositions (...

18:33
@toolic If you think you can handle the traffic, I can ask SamGibson for their opinion on setting up referrals.
@CaptainObvious Feels like September
@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ +/- 6 months
Blame the mug for starting that.
Sep 18, 2014 at 11:20, by Mat's Mug
It's a gimmeh-teh-codez question
@Mast, it seems to be averaging about 1 question per day on EE. What I really meant by the 99% is most of the questions that actually post code. It's amazing how many questions tagged with verilog don't have code in them on SO and EE.
So, I could probably single-handedly support the traffic of eligible question here on CR. SamGibson is a really good moderator on EE.
@toolic Not surprising. If I'd ask the equivalent in Verilog for VHDL's std_logic, I wouldn't need much code, if any at all. So that makes sense for those sites. And yes, it's one of the few things I know about Verilog so don't bother writing an answer to that (there's no 1:1 translation but you can get close since 0, 1, X and Z at least are known in both).
While we're on the topic, could the "systemverilog" tag be renamed as "system-verilog" to be consistent with SO and EE? It would also help in the case of migrations. Should I post this request on MetaCR?
18:47
@BillalBegueradj I really didn't plan on running in this election.
@toolic You could, or I could just fix it for you.
@Mast, Please just go ahead and fix it then.
@toolic Consider it done.
@Mast thank you
19:10
You did not do anything wrong. I was just curious, that is why I asked. Otherwise, you have been very active for a long time, so you are a near perfect candidate @pacmaninbw
@toolic The old tag can no longer be used, it's merged into system-verilog.
@Mast that was quick! Maybe you should be called Fast.
Mega Ampere Spherical Tokamak (MAST) was a nuclear fusion experiment, testing a spherical tokamak nuclear fusion reactor, and commissioned by EURATOM/UKAEA. The original MAST experiment took place at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, Oxfordshire, England from December 1999 to September 2013. A successor experiment called MAST Upgrade began operation in 2020. == Design == A spherical tokamak is shaped more like a cored apple than the conventional, doughnut-shaped toroidal design used by experiments such as ITER. Spherical tokamaks are more efficient in their use of the magnetic field. ...
But thank you.
No problem.
@toolic Let me know if you still feel positively about this in a few days and I'll set up a meet.
I get along quite well with them.
19:31
@Mast That's fine. If there is a lot of resistance, no big deal. I'll continue to occasionally post comments as I have been doing.
20:02
@toolic There's not going to be a lot of resistance I think. I asked Sam. Basically: not everyone is going to be interested, suggest the idea on EE meta to see how the other EE users think about it (while Sam's in favour, it must come from you/us to work) and perhaps include in your suggestion at which stage you'd suggest them asking the follow-up here.
Those 3 parts are important to keep in mind, but definitely not a deal breaker.
20:26
@Mast Wow, I never even questioned your name I just realize
@skiwi same here
TBH I thought it was referring to the component of a ship connecting with the sail :) 🚢

Q: LC-3 Assembly Program H E L P

Christian MihalikThe program must start at address x3000. Yep, malware indeed: You detect an error and continue as if nothing happened. Please, once you have your code running, submit it for review at codereview.stackexchange.com. That said, don't use screenshots of errors, copy'n'paste the text instead. This makes it easier to (hint!!) search for it online. As a new user here, make sure you take the tour and read How to Ask. — Ulrich Eckhardt 42 secs ago

It seems to me this question is more suited to be asked in the Code Review Forum. Code Review is a question and answer site for peer programmer code reviews.
