Q: React Best practices

CoreyI'm fairly new to React Hooks, I've created a mock e-commerce website with React/Redux/React router that I'd like to use in my portfolio. I was wondering if anyone with React Hooks experience could take a quick look at some of the components and give some feedback (main components being Category,...

Stack Overflow is a site for specific, focused programming problems. We don't "check and score your work" If you want a code review there's a [site specifically for that](codereview.stackexchange.com], but check that your request is on-topic there before you post. — Tangentially Perpendicular 15 secs ago

be careful with questions like this, even on Code Review, as this isn’t a code review question - it’s a “go check out my site and give me feedback” question. Also, it could easily be flagged as spam here, since you’re driving traffic to your portfolio site. — David Makogon 10 secs ago

Perhaps Code review would be better as this is working. — Solar Mike 52 secs ago
Well, checking what each Stack is for will help. See codereview.stackexchange.com/tourSolar Mike 59 secs ago

Huh, that's what I'm doing right now. As a background I have some static configuration kept like that. It may change from time to time and I need to reload it then. Neither me, nor version control, nor the code reviewer like changes in some "magic" hex values in sql files though... Currently I have Python script which generates all these hextoraw's for me. I just wanted to make sure that there's no other way to skip the "Pythonisation" (not every sql dev have to know Python after all) and rely solely on sql. Anyway - thanks for the tip! — michelson 10 secs ago
@michelson You don't need to store the SQL statement in version control as the hex values. If you have written a script to convert the file to hex and chunk it into 4k string literals and build the SQL statement from that then check that generation script and the original file into version control and dynamically generate the SQL statement when you need it. The code reviewer can then review the original file and can review the correctness of the generation script and if both those are correct then the generated statement will also be correct. — MT0 43 secs ago

@PitaJ Unfortunately, on codereview, Rust is not very popular, so I posted it here. — Sebastian 56 secs ago

Q: How can I modify my RPN to handle saturation (in turn, turning it into an SRPN in turn)?

user280036I have some Java code that I have been working on. It's still in its rough stages so i haven't changed much formatting or simplified it as much as i will. I need my code to be able to handle saturation. At the moment, when typing an equation such as: 2147483647 2 + it will give me -2147483647 and...

Q: "stray" point correction in 2D array

andrewbI have a code which does the following: For each value v in a 2D array, look at neighboring positions - how far to look is specified by distThreshold. If the count of values identical to v in the neighborhood is lower or equal to countThreshold, change v to a value which is most prevalent in the ...

The error 424 does not fit to the line you describe - there is no object used in that line. But it's hard to help you as we don't have your data. Personal advice: Use intermediate variables and maybe an custom class instead of an array - but that's a matter of code review, not SO. — FunThomas 34 secs ago

Style note: Your thread1_obj1 variable and your thread1_obj2 variable refer to different threads. But they both have "thread1" in their names. In an enterprize-grade software engineering project, a code reviewer probably would ask you to change their names. E.g.; thread1_obj1, thread2_obj2, thread3_obj1, and thread4_obj2. — Solomon Slow just now

Q: Svelte - Modal window with dark background and appear/disappear animations

musava_ribicaI created this code in Svelte which will show a modal and remove it when the background is clicked, based on a native JavaScript implementation I wrote earlier. In the *.svelte files, I put the focus on the code and components, the styles are not included so that the code won't be too long in tot...
