A new type alias and a new function which comes to 11 lines of code instead of 5? I am in twenty minds about this solution. Actually, this is just a "decoration" with function extraction. I am not sure that Occam's razor principle is not violated here. To put in a nutshell, it just moves the problem to another place, making code a little bit more readable with the price I am not sure worth it. This answer is mostly from "Code Review" category rather than the answer to the original question. I am not asking how to hide problem, I am asking is there a way to solve it. — Damir Tenishev 32 secs ago

For me std::mismatch(begin1, end1, begin2, end2 repeated twice is the same code duplication. I really appreciate the new code structure which reduces the chance of introducing a mistake while changing the original complex duplicated code in call to std::mismatch in some_function and I accept this as code review improvement, despite the fact of getting new alias and function in the "namespace" of which I am still concerned with, but the question is if it is still possible to avoid repeating std::mismatch(begin1, end1, begin2, end2 at all. "No, because..." would be an acceptable answer. — Damir Tenishev 48 secs ago

If you post at Code Review, I recommend you read A guide to Code Review for Stack Overflow users, as some things are done differently over there - e.g. question titles should simply say what the code is for, as the question is always, "How can I improve this?". Be sure that the code works correctly; include your unit tests if possible. You'll likely get some suggestions on making it more efficient, easier to read, and better tested. — Toby Speight 7 secs ago

I’m voting to close this question because this question should be asked in Code Review. Also note that Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) questions or answers are banned in stack overflow. — LoicTheAztec 21 secs ago

Since this code is working, it is not a good fit for SO. This question should be on-topic at codereview.stackexchange.comlit 50 secs ago

@lit the question needs work before it's suited to Code Review. You could have pointed the asker at A guide to Code Review for Stack Overflow users, as some things are done differently over there - e.g. we need full code rather than a minimal example, a good description of the *purpose* of the code to give context, and a title that says what the code *is for* (the question is always, "_How can I improve this?"). It's important that the code works correctly; include the unit tests if possible. — Toby Speight just now

You are probably using a linter of some sort. The message just means that your function might be overly complex and it might be better to refactor said function. This question is perhaps more suitable for Code Review (read the guide). — InSync 14 secs ago
