Q: Target src/main.rs::main()?

Wolfpack'08I'm basically wondering what the optimal method for returning to the top of src/main.rs::main() is? Maybe something like this: mod main; pub fn main() { crate::main(); } Or maybe there's a keyword built in? I want to handle certain kinds of errors by 'restarting the program'.

KleronomasI am currently learning JAVA. I barely have any coding experience. I wrote a program which asks a user for a sentence. It then swaps the words of the sentence (first with last, second with second to last, etc.). Program will then output the new sentence. I know that this is not the most optimal...

@Vogel612 Should I claim mod-abuse since you deleted my comment too ;-)
obsolete ;)
@rolfl you were actually involved in the discussion back then
@Vogel612 I was ..... I know. I am fully aware that there was some water under that bridge.
I can't remember all the details, but it was messy.
IIRC, an apology and a promise.
nope, you're misremembering, I think
Woot... man, I miss account annotations tool. That's right. the robo-review.
From a purely interesting programming aspect that tool sounds interesting. It makes me curious about how SE implements the limitations on their review queues that allows them to be exploited in this way.
19:23
mostly not at all
basically the finished reviews get different HTML from server-side
and if you insert the html corresponding to an open review task at the right place, you can just... review it again
ohh makes sense
I don't know why, but I had assumed that it had been implemented as a queue.
Meaning once a post was popped it wouldn't be there any more...
nah, because the review task needs to be auditable it's still available
yah I can see that.
and because of concurrency issues, review tasks need to accept reviews after they are already closed
Just shows I hadn't really thought about it.
also I am a novice and don't know that much from a practical standpoint.
19:29
it's kinda non-obvious in the first place :)
@brug As @Vogel612 says, SE review-queue system is very much non-obvious. I have myself, especially during my time as a moderator, wondered how on earth it works. It's very odd how some questions take a long time to get into the "queue", and how long they are in it and when they get popped off...
If it would be a non-web-system, then it would make sense to implement as a real queue, but with the complexity of the web (have to lookup in a database, have to send to user, have to wait for user to maybe possibly send a response back with review action and then send next item), it's probably not implemented as a queue.
Well SE likes to keep their processes behind a black box. They don't want anyone figuring out how to game the system * cough *
you can actually look at the database tables backing review queues in SEDE
It's entirely possible though that behind each review-queue there's a bunch of real queue implementations (for when to make an item pop off for example)
@SimonForsberg True. But not the oversimplification I was thinking of.
19:37
nah, it's basically some voting stuff and probably some DB triggers to check for review completion when a review vote is inserted
So I noticed that the queues use sequential urls that likely persist for all time in a DB somewhere.
yep, just like you can use sequential IDs for posts at codereview.stackexchange.com/posts/[id]
so not a queue in that sense, where finished reviews are popping. But maybe something in active sense.
@Vogel612 Yeah but the two numbers don't correspond in any meaningful way. I discovered it because I was trying to look up reviews based on the post.

Q: Kaprekar's constant algorithm in c#

ilyesI have implemented the kaprekar's constant algorithm in c#, and I want your feedback. Here is how the algorithm works: it takes a number of 4 digits (e.g: 5823) we order that number in ascendent and descendent order, which gives as two numbers (e.g: 8532 and 2358). we subtract number larger n...

yep, because a post can enter multiple review queues multiple times
e.g. a question might be closed, then reopened and then put into the close queue again
19:41
I was able to manually search on the rare occasion I had wanted to but was not able to find a meaningful way to tie a post to reviews it has previously undergone.
SEDE has it, IIRC the timeline also has links to review tasks
might be a mod feature though...
or a 10k user feature...
Well you can also throw a 6 year old post into the close review queue and it would get the next sequential ID . Therefor there isn't a connection between times posted. Although in most cases posts are reviewed close to their creation.
yeap
ohh I forgot about the timeline. That was a feature I wasn't aware about until semi-recently
it also was surfaced semi-recently
19:44
yea I learned about it shortly before it got implemented as an accessible feature.
