Hi, @ConorO'Brien.
As a general rule, I'd say to be consistent. Either use it, or don't.
Someone might think you missed it in that file for some reason and add it.

Q: C program not working - Working with functions and arrays

@EmileBergeron Please note that Code Review requires real code; questions containing placeholders like foo would be off-topic there. — 200_success 16 secs ago
@200_success Yes you're right, I'm personally not a user of Code Review, so my experience is limited with it, but OP could take the real function he's using and it would work. It would even be better since maybe there's a better solution for his scenario than grouping the array. — Emile Bergeron 46 secs ago

Welcome to SO! Unfortunately Stack Overflow is all about specific issues and the best questions present a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example and describe a specific problem; as such, your question is too broad for this site - however if your code works as intended, with a title that describes the purpose of the code that could very well be a well-received question on Code Review. — Mat's Mug 47 secs ago

Q: Confusion related to the time complexity of an algorithm

user12331I was going through this algorithm Print all nodes from root to leaves. 4:33 AM
I just happen to be practicing that guitar solo this week :)
what's left of 'em anyway

Very nice, excellent choice for music and guitar. :)

bought a new guitar last weekend, and now my fingertips are all blistered

That happens with new ones man. I need to get another guitar.

well I haven't really played for about two years... that'll do it
more like four years actually

Heard this terrible joke on the local radio: "Did you hear about the woman who killed her husband with the guitar collection? Yeah the judge asked 'first offender?' and she said 'no first it was a Gibson, then it was a Fender.'"

4:37 AM
lol

I thought it was funny. Lol
They always play terrible jokes around 3 or so.
In the A.M., that is.

Oh that's a good one too.

my first Gibson

I had some cheap PoS.

4:42 AM
PoS?

Piece of...

oh lol

We have a classical guitar that I've played a little.
I played the clarinet through HS, and really miss it. My teeth got messed up pretty bad, though, so I can't play anymore.
I'm probably going to get braces soon, so maybe some day.

classical guitar is hard

I can't remember the brand. It was a cheapo I got from my older sister.

4:44 AM
Yeah. I want to learn chords some time so I can do singalongs.

get an acoustic :)

I know (knew) a couple chords and most of the first position.
@Mat'sMug That's what we have.

acoustic != classical.. that's metal strings vs nylon strings

We have both.

ah

4:45 AM
Wound metal ones on the three large, nylon on the three small.

interesting

I don't know the size, but I'm guessing it is parlor-sized.

@EBrown my previous guitar (now wrecked) was a B.C. Rich Warlock

@Mat'sMug Damnnnnnnnn

@Mat'sMug What happened?

4:47 AM
got it used for $400 12 years ago

Did you fall down the stairs on it, or leave it in the rain under an open window?

Thats a really good deal.

leftie
it had a few... encounters with various floors

Yeah the one I got from my sister was left handed (she and I are both left handed).

the neck ended up a banana. same with the Ibanez RoadStar I had bought in 1999 (my first "real" guitar)

4:49 AM
I've heard of the two I suggested happening to Strads and others of that level.

Strads?
Stats?

Violins and violas.

ah
wait, someone left a million-dollar violin in the rain??

I think that was a cello.

that's outright crazy

4:52 AM
Or maybe the cello was the one when they fell down the stairs on it.
It was fixed up by a professional string-repair-guy, whatever the call them.

@Mat'sMug You buy that new?

Ah, luthier.

@EBrown yeah

Very cool. How much did you pay (if you don't mind disclosing)?

not much. the tag was $550 I think. I had paid $695 for my Ibanez back then.

4:55 AM
That's a decent deal. Gibson is a trustworthy brand.

Canadian currency - it's probably much cheaper in the US
the sound is awesome :)

Yeah, it's $450-$650 in the U.S. depending on dealer and location.

you could get a good Gibson Epiphone for $250 or less

I mean Gibson is to guitars as Glock is to guns. They're a good trustworthy brand that has recognition for a decent price.

aye
I wanted a Jackson though :)
(I miss my Floyd Rose)

4:58 AM
My favourite is still Fender. I don't know why but I like them.

meh. tried a couple, never liked any for some reason. I guess I'm #TeamGibson :)
and, TTGTB
(although I'm playing the Gibson in a Fender amp lol)

Hah, well enjoy your night chief. I still have work to do. :(

Anyone been having IP config issues on Windows 10 since yesterday?

5:09 AM
@Phrancis Nah mine's all manual. Lol

lol

If anyone calls you on any weird detail, just say it's from the Jedi Prince book series, which contains so much random incongruous stuff that even most Expanded Universe/Legends fans collectively agreed to forget about it decades ago.
4

Trying to nail down the issue so many are having, it's making the line between data issues and PC issues really blurry

You can never have a DHCP conflict if you static assign everything.

@RMunroe That's me, without the "phew"s.

5:15 AM
You also don't get APIPA issues if you static assign everything.

@EBrown Most moms and pops don't know what DHCP is :-P
You can statically assign even with dynamic IP connection?

Yeah.

I don't know that it has anything to do with DHCP even

And if you assign an IP in the DHCP pool statically, it usually picks up on it and doesn't actually assign that one.

Ohh nice

5:20 AM
It doesn't. But DHCP is requested by the PC (et. al.) and then it picks an IP from the pool, then checks the network to see if that IP is in use by pinging hosts (sorta), if it gets a response it goes to the next IP.

Usually I'll nail down what appears to be a router issue by hooking the PC into the modem, but now we see new issues since yesterday

What type of issues?

ipconfig now has so many 164.258's

Is that in the APIPA range? I forgot.

Making it seem like the network adapter isn't even picking up Ethernet conn
I meant 168.254 sry

5:24 AM
Ah yeah that is definitely APIPA.

Usually the adapter's IP
Wtf is APIPA?

Automatic Private IP Address

So, yeah, that crap
Seems like the usual fix is to disconnect the Ethernet, reboot, reconnect
But doesn't work every time

Static addressing for the win! :)

Itvs a mix of ipv4 and ipv6 also, to make things easier -_-

5:29 AM
I let IPv6 do it's magic.

All the CMTS are ipv4, but sometimes the modem gets a v4 other times a v6

Disable IPv6 on the modem. Or have the ISP enable network IPv6.
I have a /48 IPv6 from my Dedicated Server Provider. Lol

Seen a lot of PCs return "media state disconnected" on ipconfig

I have 1.208925819615e24 addresses lol

noice

5:36 AM
I've used 7 lmfao

IPv6 is beautiful

One is Default Gateway lol

Part of the problem is that most elderly ladies are not nearly as knowledgeable as @EBrown when it comes to HSD networking /s

I was A+ and N+ certified once.
Can't find a job because no degree.
#BiWinning
Win here win there win win everywhere.

Annoying thing is Macs, mobile and everything else has no issues, only Windows 10 PCs
Windows Vista PC had no issues either
(surprisingly)

5:50 AM
@Phrancis To tell you how deep into networking I was, I got 1.5Gbps out of a 1Gbps link once.

@EBrown without hacking into provisioning?

Ah ok. Pretty damn impressive.

Also, that site is a really good resource for networking stuff.
Especially if you want help troubleshooting things.
And it's a great speed test site.

@Mast I actually don't know. Never got around to asking him what languages he writes in.

@Mast Never understood why they don't just dig a very deep hole, line it with lead and bury it.

@Kaz You'd need a very deep hole and you still need to figure out the transport.
We got a bit of a waste problem at the moment in the Netherlands.
We produce it at 4 locations and build a new storage facility for most of their waste years ago.
Now it turns out one of the major companies producing the waste doesn't have the money to sort and transport it.

Kaz
10:25 AM
@Mast I was about to ask why you need to sort nuclear waste, then remembered that 99% of nuclear waste (by mass) is random stuff that happens to have been irradiated (equipment, vehicles etc.) rather than spent fuel.
