I think I just found a rather bizarre bug (?) in Visual Studio 2013
if the array in a watch list gets updated, the preview {1,2,3} gets updated but the expanded array entries don't
e.g., index [0] shows as 2 (wrong) in the expanded list, but the inline preview {0, ...} is right
01:09
@SirPython that's a bit strange, you didn't edit any code
Maybe there's something in the source HTML, but a question's title is just in a <title> tag, I think @Duga is supposed to look at changes inside <code> tags

@DanPantry Monking
@DanPantry We drove back to Malkara this morning, will return to Ankara in 2 weeks. The coup seems to be failed so no curfew atm. People outside seems to be very celebrative. While I can sleep, on bigger cities sleeping is reportedly impossible due to honking and loud music, and nationalist songs.
doesn't sound like it's the end of the world, good
Some people seems to be scared to see some population outside and active, and their concerns already show some examples, like some of those people verbally then physically attacked some people who were wearing dresses that aren't appropriate or drinking alcohol. I hope this dies off soon as this growing might have much worse consequences.
13:50
Wait, is the Abaya appropriate or not?
@arda Ankara is nice.
@DanPantry that is apparently only thing they want women to wear

If you use ElseIf instead of If, it will not check every condition for every cell but stop once it has found a match. Also, as it is now, you overwrite "NEW ITEM" immediately with "NOT VALIDATED in the second If. You could also group the cases =0, < Date and >= Date and use nested Ifs or Select Case for the sub-cases. Does the answer have comments in the code itself about it?
@EBrown, he writes what the code does and why. But not why it is better than op's code
If you've left a comment, I'd probably flag it for moderator attention, not sure what option is best though, I've never done it myself.
I'll wait 10 minutes, if he won't edit the post, I will flag it

Usually when we deal with it we just put a notice on it that says something to the effect of we're looking for answers that provide explanations of the differences/improvements/etc.

@SimonForsberg you around?
could you answer another question guys? How do you avoid pronouns in answers? As non native speaker, it is really hard for me to avoid pronouns.
Do you have a sentence as an example?
The algorithm we use will be the following: if we encounter either left sided brace ('(', '[','{'), we will put right sided brace into stack.
22:50
I don't see an issue with pronouns there.
@EBrown, thanks for the feedback! In the university I've got mind washed about usage of pronouns
But, you could replace "we" with "one", i.e.: "if one encounters either left sided brace ('(', '[', '{'), one would put right sided brace into the stack."
worst case you ask for help on chat and someone better with english will edit it
Or, "upon encountering any left-sided brace ('(', '[', '{'), a right-sided brace should be put into the stack."
@EBrown, I think the last one is the best solution

"When a left-sided brace ('(', '[', '{') is encountered, a right-sided brace should be put into the stack."
There's quite a few ways to write it without pronouns, or any sort of noun.

Q: SPARC assembly take a string a find length and make it uppercase

LukusThis program takes a string a counts the length and also makes the string uppercase. However, I'm not able to store the string i have to do two separate inputs to make this happen I am not able to store the first input I have used st but it didn't work. I have put !!! where i am having trouble at...

And as @arda said, if you have particular trouble with a specific phrase, feel free to ask in chat if anyone can help with it.
If I'm around I'm more than happy to help you.
(Or anyone, for that matter.)
@arda, I can live with bad English, but I will never be able to live with bad programming skills :) so, I'm happy with external edits about the language :)
@EBrown, thanks, I will probably try to edit it myself, so I could learn
So, my advice to anyone in this room: if you can, date a nerd. :) The conversations with them are the best.
@EBrown +1 ping me if you need any help
@EBrown NICE TRY NERD

@arda LOL
My conversations with this person are simply the best.
We're talking about the cells in a brain, and how electric current flows between them to operate them.
And I just compared it to the electric current in a CPU.
And now she's asking how processors work.
And it's just hilarious.
Anyway, gotta go.
Movie time.
@EBrown later
tbh I'd and will probably date some nerd
@EBrown, later
btw, how do you relax? I can't live without writing code or reviewing it. People call me to cinema, but I refuse to make another attempt at library system

Q: How to abstract this functions in JS?

maurilopI'm trying to abstract this pack of functions basically into two (one that sets a value and one that pushes a value), but I'm kind of lost. I've been using de Revealing Module Pattern so this code is inside an IFFE. var addTeam1 = function(team) { team1 = team; }; var addTeam2 = funct...

Q: Android Music Streaming App

McLemoreThis is my first time building an Android app or even using Java in the first place. All of this code does work, but I'm hoping to optimize it or find out if things could be done more easily than how I've done them. Here's the code and thank you for your response. radio.java package com.example...
