I currently have an expired version of 2010 on my computer right now, that bugs me every time I open any office app. can I do macros and stuff in the apps?
I'm doing an image gallery carousel with javascript, but I'm stuck
trying to implement the left and right limits of the carousel.
I'm listening to touch events to translate the carousel according

Which just caused an issue when one of the stored procedures on my local dev environment was out-of-step with one on the live and UAT environment, causing a critical function of live + UAT to be unavailable to users.
And of course, because I am maintaining the front end of that feature, I'm the one that looks bad because it isn't working.. |:
OMG its nto even that they arent keeping their changes in source control
They aren't keeping entire stored procedures in source control
boss is going to throw the book at them tomorrow, excellent
not wanting to get my team mates in trouble but not using source control because "there's too many changes" is hilarious. thats exactly what source control is meant to help with.
@kayess merdé command line, ties you to visual studio/microsoft products, slows down your development because every 'check in' requires a round trip which discourages micro commits, no rebase, branching is awful, merging requires sacrificing your firstborn
they are text files, I don't need a 600MB Behemoth of an IDE to edit js and sql and I'd rather not be tied to using it instead of lightweight sublime text which doesn't crash every time I look at it in a vaguely threatening manner
@DanPantry I started using VSCode. Idk if you checked it but it's pretty damn cool. There's light-weight intellisense for node/c# and TypeScript I think, build commands, GIT support and some other stuff. I honestly love it.
@TopinFrassi I would like to use VScode but I have a horrible feeling I won't be able to because it doesnt' support visual studio solutiosn or something like that.
@kayess ID-ed. I'll get asked for my ID Card because I don't look 21.
Awhile ago I posted about creating a user tool for forum admins that allows them to add, edit, and delete users from their desktops. This still is not complete, posting for review on tool so far
I've finished with the delete_user method and also added a couple new features to it, what this code ...
But you will get carded if you look under 25 for a lot of controlled substances, such as alcohol, knives, scissors and cigarettes... and in some cases lottery tickets, depending on how anal the shop keeper is.
Which is also, incidentally, why I order take aways more than I cook. because I don't have knives. At least that's the excuse I am using. Dominos is nice, leave me alone.

Is there any way to improve this algorithm maybe making it so faster avoid using foreach? Maybe with a recursion?.
The output of my algorithm is a table with 3 merged columns, each row will have its own rowspan.

@SuperBiasedMan I know... You beat me by a few seconds on changing the tags to Python 2.7... I leave you to it, I'm hungry so I need to eat anyway!
On top of having multiple functions, he also polls every 2 seconds, for something which potentially has a network timeout of 2 minutes, and I don't see his timeout mechanism as working code....

The tag cleancode was recreated, so it was not blacklisted the whole time. Anyway, should it be blacklisted at last? If so, then I believe it should also apply to the other variant, clean-code.

I have written three different programs in three different languages that accomplish the same goal. They are each very simple programs but I did them for personal reasons, basically because I was curious I've head a lot of "Oh Python is better" or "Oh Ruby is the best" or "Perl is so much fun" so...
When writing in Ruby, method names are written in snake_case, not camelCase, so getNeighborhoodsByCityAndType should be get_neighborhoods_by_city_and_type. It's a readability thing that is idiomatic for this language. Using the wrong style is a sure way to get dinged in code reviews. — the Tin Man55 secs ago

@SimonForsberg I noticed a duplication of users possibly due to potential user error when posting same question to both SO and CR. It looks like user 89131 was created by error/accident and user 89134 is the one that links to OP's SO profile. Question here
I have written the same program in three different languages to learn each language. You see I've been told multiple times, "Oh, Ruby is the best" or "Perl is so much fun!" or "Python is the best language" etc..
So I figured I would make the same program in three different languages, just to see...

There's "a byte array". It would be best not to mix concepts of binary and text data... "string" has a textual implication in Java, so I'd strongly advise against using it for binary data. Additionally, this code is mutable (unlike String), exposes its underlying byte buffer directly, ignores the equals method (providing "compare" instead, whereas "compare" is usually used for ordering operations). It ignores Java naming conventions both for the class name and the substr method (which would be substring). This isn't code I'd use. This was relatively straightforward.
