I had some encouragement for you on a question you deleted Where Can I Find Good Simple Clean JavaScript Projects?: The pong game would give you a good overview of using canvas for drawing, animating, user input. I would suggest you find some basic canvas-pong "on-the-nets". First try to understand it. Then try to improve it. When you feel it's solid code, take it to our sister site and ask the pro's to review your code: codereview.stackexchange.com Good luck -- it's inspiring to have you wanting to create excellent code instead of knock-it-out code! — markE 33 secs ago

Pimping one of my answers. Pointers on how it can be improved are welcome.

A: Password hashing and matching

Mast However, there is a lot of talk about what implementations are secure and not secure. How does my method measure up? Is it secure? Are there more secure methods in PHP for hashing tokens and matching with tokens later on? Since you're specifically asking about security, I think reviewing you...

Though, I'm not convinced on the non-one-liner methods.
I prefer public override string ToString() { return string.Format("({0},{1})", _x, _y); } over the fully-linebroken alternative any day. ;)

It seems that your code currently works, and you are looking to improve it. you know, I really just saw "Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve this?" and assumed that meant they hadn't actually tried to write it themselves. Upon closer inspection, (not knowing the language) that would appear to be incorrect.

that ^^
looks like revision 3 was fine
except, the wording is pretty much asking for close votes.
I can now officially delete Visual Studio 2013 from my system.

If anyone wants the PS1 script for installing XNA on VS2012/2013/2015, I'm putting it on my GitHub, maybe.
I voted because of "trying".
It sounded like it wasn't working.
it did.
but just sticking "better" between "to" and "achieve" gives it a completely different ring doesn't it?

@anonymous finding bugs is part of what's possible to find in a peer review. Feel free to post a self-review to point out the bug. @rolfl Is activity the only valuable metric for meta?
of course not, and there's lots of ways to measure it.
I just summed up the total scores of all posts created in 2015 as a guideline....
A different measure would be, for example, the count of unique contributors?
I think voting is one of the most important parts when measuring activity, but questions/answers are also important.
20:20
@rolfl wut
At least it shows we're one of the best in at least one metric, which is good.
@Mat'sMug I ran this query on all meta sites:
select sum (score) from [meta]..posts where CreationDate > '1 jan 2015'
We are #3 overall.
divide by number of posts and you get a completely different ranking

Q: Tracking Graduation Progress

People say that Code Review is the sister-website of StackOverflow. To me, it looks like it is a bastard sister, cause we don't get the care and love we should have.
@Zak That one indeed.
@IsmaelMiguel Stack Overflow was the first Stack Exchange site. All others could be considered sisters.
Zak
Zak
20:36
@IsmaelMiguel Which is a pity, because whilst SO is powerful in its own right, IMO combining it with CR yields an order of magnitude more improvement
@IsmaelMiguel then again we kinda do better wrt. quality and atmosphere
But others already have the Graduations. They must be sisters from the same father
SO is really big and with that comes a kind of anonymity
and that results in people misbehaving.
Yes
But Code Review is being pushed to the side
@Zak I think that was the idea. Programmers.SE to get the design. Stack Overflow to help on bugs and Code Review to make the code sparkle

@IsmaelMiguel actually there's ...
which may be considered a bug depending on interpretation..
How is that a bug?
@IsmaelMiguel Usually it's caused by a completely wrong approach.
Wrong approach means wrong mindset, doesn't mean broken code
@IsmaelMiguel It may also be a wrong approach because the code is doing something else than OP had in mind. Which is a bug of sorts.
20:48
I disagree with that
I'm not saying you are wring, I just disagree
A bug, for some values of bug.
Zak
Zak
I would suggest that if the code runs in a short-enough timeframe for the OP to have run it through completely, then it's "working" enough to be in-topic
And that ^ would be exactly right.
@Zak given it's producing the intended results.
I agree more with Zak on this one
20:54
Performance issues are on topic. Old news.
That wasn't the discussion
I'm kinda wondering why "may be considered .. depending on interpretation" was so totally neglected
in any case, the time-limit on coding challenges is a "feature" of sorts
which means that for some values of "works as intended" the performance is a criterion
that's not satisfied for , which would be a "bug" or more accurately "broken code"
Zak
Zak
@RubberDuck I've got a new VBA project, MUCH shorter than the previous one. I don't suppose you can spare 10 minutes and take a look?

As suggested, I would put this on CodeReview. Without actually seeing your other code for what your doing with your rectangles, there's not much that can be said. 1. Keep declarations as close as possible to their use.
2. Those pseudo code comments mostly indicate places where you should have another method extracted.
3. The parens here aren't doing anything.
