@JeroenVannevel I am exactly the same. I've yet to find a genre of music (except perhaps rap and the more screechy end of metal/rock) that I don't enjoy listening to under certain circumstances.
In the last week, I've been hopping back and forth between my PunkRock playlist, my Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack, some DnB, some 80's/90's pop and a playlist I've yet to put a genre to :)
@RubberDuck And to everybody's surprise, I kinda liked Windows NT4.0. It was as bad as Vista and as hard to make it work as Linux without a GUI, but once you got it working well and stable it would be as fast as Windows XP
I have an array of arrays arrAggregatedArrays(1 to 8)
I can call a sub like this:

But I get a compile error: "Type Mismatch" if I try this:

Why? And is there a way around it?
and why does it not recognise arrAggregatedArrays(1) as an...
I wouldn't say this question is "wrong" for SO but you will probably get a better answer at codereview.stackexchange.com as this more about architecture then an an actual bug or how-to. — Victory53 secs ago

This question [VBA] "Macros treat these 2 array declarations differently: array and array(). Why?" , which site should I post it to? Not sure if it belongs on SO or not
I looked if the answer was already on Google, and I ended up reading if it is safe to use !p if a null-pointer isn't all-0 in some architectures, in C and C++
That's actually a very good question. Wish I was in front of my laptop. Try inspecting the types in the local window while stepping through the code. One is a variant array declaration while the other is a plain variant declaration. Not sure why they're treated differently though.
I HATE not understanding how/why things work. I can let it go when it's only peripherally related or of passing interest, but if my code breaks because I didn't understand why these arrays are, in fact, different from each other, then that suggests there's other things I don't understand which could (and probably will) cause more problems down the line.
This appears to be off-topic because it's asking for general performance enhancements to working code. You might have better luck on Code Review, but be sure to read their help center before you post it there. — Nathan Tuggy49 secs ago
@RubberDuck I still don't have an answer. Right now, my best guess is that one is an array contained in a variant, and one is a pointer contained in a variant which points to an array. Or something similar.
Unless/until I get an answer over on SO, I think I'll just shift to declaring all my arrays as variants first
I have this VB.NET class, I've converted it to C# with a tool for the sake of this question and also for the sake of future development (it's a VB.NET project I'm currently working on for a client, but I think I'll try to create a reusable component around it in C#).
This is a class that takes a...

Yes it is perfectly normal to remove comments from answers. Especially comments that resulted in a change of the answer are removed. There is an extra comment flag reason for that ("ob...
Especially if you take it to chat as per Legato's comment. The comments are automatically moved to the chat room at that point. The chat room then serves as the 'public record' per sé. If comment chains start getting too long, a message will appear prompting you to take the discussion for chat. As it says before you make a comment: Chats are not the place for extended discussion. — Dan Pantry8 mins ago

Code to be reviewed must be your code and directly embedded here. I'm afraid this is starting to sound like an off topic question. — RubberDuck1 min ago
The real point is, for stuff we are exposing publicly, the lack of a doc comment means nothing is documented. A doc comment which specifies weirdness documents weirdness. The only way to document no weirdness publicly is to leave a doc comment which just states the obvious. Doc comments are different from normal comments in this regard.
Most importantly, doc comments serve a different purpose from regular comments.
I personally really don't like having 3 lines of cruft restating the obvious. It'd be different if you're writing some kind of library for outside consumption I suppose.
Yeah... I wouldn't either, but I settled on "Code not written yet". It's copy/pasted from that blog and OP is really asking for an implementation. It wouldn't even be a good SO question.
Hi. Feel free to post your code in link. Just make sure it conforms to the posting rules: It is your code, It works and the code is embedded in the question. — Zak15 secs ago
They're not multiple ctors. They're different implementations of a base class.
And that is documented.
I mean, at the end of the day, the only way I would write the kind of docs you're talking about is if I was shipping the prettified docs for an API out to a paying customer.
@RubberDuck so if you're shipping it to a different dev within your team, you're okay with them wasting time diving into looking at implementations or coming to ask you?
And you're okay with increased ramp up times for new devs to learn internal libraries or projects?
I'm not saying document everything but anything library-esque, which will certainly include things like model classes, code for talking to the server API
I'm not saying documenting is a waste of time, I'm saying it gets in the way of the code if you're constantly restating the obvious.
If you're going to do that, then the documentation needs to be kept separate from the code with something like the <include> tag.
Otherwise, you'll never get more than one property on your screen at a time, which makes it harder to see what's going on. The exact opposite of what those docs are supposed to be doing.
Well, the point is, once the class is written and doc'ed, you shouldn't need to be in it messing around as much. The doc comments are to save people from looking at the implementation
I would recommend that you instead of posting this as an answer to this question, post a new question and ask how you can improve your solution. Code Review is not for people to share how they would solve something, it is rather for telling programmers "this specific thing you can do better". — Simon André Forsberg ♦21 secs ago
When people are looking at the how, they might start using a method for its how rather than what it does. Relying on an implementation specific side effect.
Which means if you change the how but not the what, you might have created bugs because you killed the side effect
That's a good point, but nothing you say will convince me that it's worthwhile to write doc comments like Summary>Returns a new instance of <see cref="Credentials"/></Summary> for a constructor. Not everything needs a doc comment.
@RubberDuck that doc comment implies it is okay to pass null and empty strings. That's what it documents which shouldn't be assumed or considered obvious

@charlietfl this absolutely is not a question for code review. Questions on CodeReview have 3 main requirements: 1) the code is the OP's, 2) The code is functional, 3) The code is embedded in the question. This would immediately fail on point 1) — Zak39 secs ago
